This review made me an instant fan and subscriber. We are big fans of e everything “Echo”. Thank you for the review. We just received it and this made us run through it with you. I was just dissatisfied with the 2 megapixel camera, Thank you. Big thumbs uP!

I specifically purchased an echo show so I could automatically see who was at my front door whenever someone pushed my ring doorbell. Well, it doesn't work! Spent more time than I wanted with tech support trying to get it to work to no avail! It just doesn't work, period! Total waste of time and money, in my opinion.
@Stephen Gaffney well thats awesome, Steven Gaffney. It really is ,I'm so happy for you ,but you see, it doesn't work for me. Yes, I've tried routines as well. Even had tech support walk me Thru it. We tried everything from the modem to the factory reset on both the doorbell and the echo show. It will work if I ask ,"alexa,show me ring doorbell," but that's it! It won't do it automatically when someone pushes the doorbell or sets of the motion sensor. Ironically, it works just fine with my firestick connected to my TV. It's not just me! There are a plethora of people who can't get it to work as well. Both ring and Amazon are aware of this and have said they have been working on it. Ring gave me a case # and said a tech would be contacting me in the future. This was a good while back, and I haven't received said call. I'm not shocked! It's the only thing that doesn't work with my echo show. Everything else works perfectly! I have several routines throughout my house. This isn't my first rodeo.
@@number1pappy I'm curios, does the setup in the Alexa app go ok but when it comes to testing, it doesn't display or can you not even get it setup? Also, do they know if it's an Echo issue or a Ring issue?
I got an Echo 5 for Christmas and I just took it out of the box . My son gave it to me and I think its so that we can video chat , I dont know if this can do that . I know I can put pictures on it and use it for my kitchen needs. Its perfect for me, I tend to remember what I need and I always wanted to have a personal assistant to write down stuff the comes to mind . I dont even think I need to touch it to switch screens. I can make calls without touching a phone and hang up without touching the screen . This is awesome , I think its a great gift for any woman . As far as music and exercise video . I think it can do that two . I think I can connect it to a bigger screen on the wall for that . I'm excited! I'm going to turn my kitchen in to a fully functional kitchen . Yay!
Alexa and I are besties , she's so sweet . I say ," Alexa , goodmorning. She responds kindly and gives me the weather and the news . Then she puts music on . She even knows what kind of music I like. I say Alexa , thank you so much . She's says , your so very welcome . It's my pleasure. I say Alexa , your so sweet . She responds , " Awe!!! No , your so sweet . She's amazing ! I'm so happy I have a friend to keep me company . Yes , I know . I'm happy though . I'm getting a back up plug with solar , just to make sure she doesn't die on me lol.
I want it to just be a smart clock, they keep pushing out advertising, tips, etc...on the screen, I keep turning those things off but they find new ways to splash the screen, getting tired of it. I'm holding out hope that they wise up (probably not) or Apple makes one that has zero advertising on it, because advertisements suck!
I was trying to see if this device was another item I needed but no. It’s nothing my Alexa and phone doesn’t already do. It’s like tablets for me. I got one and never used it because I have a computer and my phone.
I’m going to be taking an evening class and even though my daughter old enough to take care of herself for a few hours, I want something that will allow me to automatically and periodically check up on my daughter while I’m in class. Also something that lets me communicate with her when I’m in my office and she’s in her room. Will this do all that?
I have RU-vid but not Netflix. It could be that they removed it for the show 5 since the screen might be too small.🤔 If you ask Alexa to put on Netflix she'll suggest another device which means it's not available for that particular device.
I bought an Echo show based off of one of ur video's. We have a love/hate thing going on. I find myself yelling at it. And it, being like one of the kids, ignoring me. I'll start off telling it to shut off at a normal tone... and by the end, Im losing my mind screaming "Alexa TUUUURN OOOFFFF!!!!!"
I’ve had to start doing that more and more with my echo devices too. Yet the kids talk to it with a normal or low tone and it works perfectly fine. Is it me?
You can turn those off in settings so it shows what you want and what you don't want. Everything is turned on by default...also, if all you want to see is a clock and nothing else put it on Do Not Disturb or ask Alexa to go into do not disturb.
Please help. Amazon can't help me. They cant figure out whats wrong with my Echo Show 5 3rd Gen even they already replaced my unit. Whenever Spotify is playing, the song always freezes on the last 15 seconds before the end. And its painfully slow even on responding. Unlike my Echo Dot, always fast and seamless. I even talked to Amazon rep and we tried everything and still did not solve the issue.
Great video! I but I have seen where people. Who write in the comments section and claim a device or devices don't work. Sometimes the problem is related to bad wifi signals and on how many smart gadgets. You have in your home and the wifi speed that is your internet plan. The best way to go on providing a good wifi through your house. Is investing into a wifi mesh system.
i listened to get how to do post-it notes or stickies. because when i say create a sticky it won't let me totally finish adding my message. i believe i was doing something wrong but you didn't mention anything about those
The biggest pain is settling up Content and your preferred wallpaper and clock then the Echo Show decides to rotate the display JUST showing the content but not the wallpaper. It seems very hit and miss to tailor the Show to exactly what I need to see
I received Echo 5 today as a Christmas gift to replace an old Spot, I hate having bright lights in the bedroom at night and am still struggling to find a decent clock face that is a nighttime colour , not those garish purples and greens etc. I am having to cover it with a scarf . !
I purchased this to be able to video call my elderly parent who does not have. Smart phone. Can you video call into his home with this? Or can I only view home but not speak with him or him see me?
What is on the top of my list is the ability to listen to my local radio stations. Can this do that? And even if the stations are not a part of heart?? If not what do you recommend? Thanks❤

I own 3 echo shows, and I just bought a 5, and it sucks.. doesn't respond. The screen goes red with date and time and will not respond. Ready to send it back
I just needed a loud alarm clock where i could set up multiple alarms for different days and everything else is just extra for me. probably will add pictures to have a cool picture frame as well.
I have a question? I have MANY photographs, stored in my loft. Taking up space, and I never look at them. Would an Echo Show be the thing for me. I know I am going to have to use my iphone to screenshot each photo. Which will be a long job. Then upload onto said device. If I wanted to then retrieve photo again to say have it printed off is that easy. Sorry i'm no too technical . TIA xx

I have an Echo Show 10, Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5. Presently my echo show 5 is not connected because I don't know how to turn the screen off on it. The screen will shut off on Echo Show 10 and Echo Show 8 but Echo Show 5 did not used to shut off. Have they changed the software so now the Echo Show 5 screen will shut off I really would like to use it but the idea of a screen on 24/7 is so annoying

My mother is in a memory care unit about 2-hours from me. If I put a fire-stick in the tv in her room, can I “drop-in” on her echo-show and get my image to show on her tv, via the fire-stick?
How can I delete the round white icon with the hand and touch finger symbol on it? It is in the corner of my display screen and blocking the time/date display. Please help!
Steve - here is what I’m trying to accomplish with the 5 - can I? I live away from children (4) and grandchildren (9). With all different schedules speaking/FaceTiming all of them on a regular basis successfully is very time consuming. So it would be great if I could make a short video couple times a week about things on my end and ?s about their lives to send to them in mass and they can view on their end (I’m willing to buy everyone an echo if this works) whenever convenient for them and then do their own video to send back. Voicemails and texts just aren’t the same as seeing their faces. Hope that’s clear enough for an answer. Thank you.
Can’t you just make a video and send it to them via text or email? I don’t think you need to buy 13 echoes for this. I feel like there’s an easier and faster way that everyone already has access to. I hope you found a solution though
question I have an echo dot and echo show 5 when I ask dot where my stuff is it will tell me item and item description when i ask echo show 5 2nd gen same question will only tell me that an item will deliver and not what it is; all settings are set in alexa app to on for delivery updates. Do you have any thoughts on this? thanks in advance.
Thanks for the video. Our company is offering us gifts and this is one of the choices. I already have an echo dot that I won, and I find it useless except for asking what the weather will be. Without any smart home devices I don't see what I would use this for that my smart phone can't do. I guess I'll go for one of the other options.
@@jessicaaguirre1755 Actually ended up buying 2 smart plugs so I didn't need to fit switches. Now I just use the dot to turn an outside light and a water feature on and off.
Not sure what you're asking...this doesn't really require a phone to be functional. It's just easier to add and remove things with the app for it..also, if the person wanted to send pictures to it they would not be able to with an old flip phone.
Humm. I just set up a couple echos in my elderly parents home, If i install the echo show in their home will I be able to log on from my phone to check in n them?
Yes, but this is to keep on a nightstand or desk. Some people aren't into picking up their phones for every little thing when they get home. Not to mention if you live in a big house with a big family then it's very useful as an intercom instead of yelling back and forth.
