@@user-xd5zq8gg4fThere are 4 serious contenders and 5,6 very good teams🤡and too much bad teams??atleast 3 teams won't qualify from any group unlike euros and Portugal has got Georgia,Turkey and Czech in their group btw😂🤡so difficult, isn't it?
highkey looking like a necessity. not enough nations in each one by themselves which doesn’t promote higher level competition and afcon and asia cups are getting higher and higher levels of competition
I think for world cup qualifying they should remain separate, but for tournaments like the Copa America it seems like a very good idea. It gives the South American teams more competition and money and allows for the North American teams to grow and gain experience playing against world class teams.
Instead of inviting teams, they should make Copa America the main tournament for the whole America and close that gold cup. They won't have any problem with teams and also it will be more exciting.
@@joshuafrimpong244no its not. This is a rare occurrence, it happens about every 8 years. The Gold Cup/Copa Oro will keep going for North American nations. There is no merge between CONCACAF and CONMEBOL yet, but talks are ongoing
@@dsavage6618 we had like 4 Copa Americas in 5 years, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 (played in 2021 because of Covid), but you get the point, and it's historically been like this, you can tell just by the sheer amount of titles that have been won in the competition.
And? This competition has been ongoing since 1916 (Organized by Argentina to celebrate a century since the nation's independence),and unlike others, didn't have to stop for WW2. Since it was such an old and primitive era for professional football,of course it was much different. At first it was yearly or every two years, then took some long gaps, and since around the 60s-70s (when the eurocup became a thing) it had stabilized to every 3-4 years, mostly. 2016 was an exception since it was once again to conmemorate, this time the first copa america. It's not south america's fault that europe took longer to create their own cup,tho i must admit they've kept the time frame between cups clean and organized better. As for the difficulty of each, well,it depends on lots of factors. I don't think the difference between the level of teams is too big, since Conmebol has Argentina,Brazil and Uruguay, all world champions, plus all the other teams that play with passion and that may have advantage when playing home. Meanwhile, the euro is littered with some really mediocre teams. The biggest negative for the copa america is really the small amount of teams,Conmebol has very little and even adding Concacaf,i don't think we'd reach the amount europe has. But in terms of,for example, classifying for knockout stages,it's not that different in difficulty. While you have to play to qualify for the euros (logical given the amount of european countries),there's also the fact the some best thirds clasify, and that's bs,at least to me. Like, the 2016 champion Portugal got three points from three ties and got into knockouts? Not to mention the rivals faced. Hungary,Poland and Wales. At least France was a real menace in the final.
@@RaedVSthe tournament is held every 3 years but 2015 was the 100th anniversary which is why they held the special tournament that included CONCACAF and they held one in 2021 instead of 2022 since the following year (22) was a world cup year..
For tournaments in the future, it is just the World Champions should be able to participate in all of the 4 continental cups, and the winner of the Euros should be able to compete in the Copa America.
@@PedroKing19 Well, it technically wouldn’t work because Copa and Euros take place at the same time, and AFC and AFCON take place at the same time. But the World Champions deserve to play more competitive games.
In my eyes the Copa America should me expanded to include all of the americas, and be held all 4 years, like the world cup. In that way we would get rid of the worthless gold cup and the tournament would become more prestigious.
It is gonna be held in every 4 years that's why it is being held after 2020 Copa in 2024,the one in 2021 was actually 2020 Copa and postponed bcoz of covid
@@Cio_d-borba it was held in every four years after 2011 but 2016 in USA was held to celebrate 100 years of Copa America that's why it was decided to held in 2020 after 2019 too and to make it eventual with euros every 4 years since then
@@aasishgiri9079 That's what I'm talking about. We had one in 2015, then the centenario in 2016, then 2019 and then 2021 (2020). There were 4 CA in 6 years. I know they had reasons to do it, but having the tournament in such a high frequency just devalues it.
Imo the copa America should always be 16 teams - the 10 conmebol ol teams + the 4 top concacaf teams from the last cycle + 2 invitees from around the world 🙏🙌
Because the euro Champion team had so many injury issues and the finalissima was after the whole club season so many players decided to take rest by faking their injury.
@@achiburshakib5804I think it's because they'd rather play teams closer to their level than giants like Brazil and Argentina. I don't watch soccer(unless the glorious United States of America is playing of course 🇺🇲🦅🦅) so please correct me if im wrong
Ten non-South American nations have participated in Copa América at least once: CONCACAF members Canada, Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, and the United States, as well as AFC members Japan and Qatar. Two other teams, China and Australia, had accepted invitations respectively for 2015 and 2021, but both did not end up appearing because of clashes with other commitments.
The one major difference is that euros have a group of death and is unpredictable but the copa america wuarter finalists wont be that hard to predict not slating the tournament just saying
It's better for the favorites to have to prove they're still the favorites. I don't care if Argentina Colombia the USA or San Marino are favored, you gotta play the games to find out who's best
copa america is actually south and north america's mixture yes no north or central american countries have that percent to qualify so thats why most are south american countries but its actually mixtue of whole american tournament
Its not. Only the 2016 and 2024 were like that. Every other one has been different. North and central America is Concacaf, south America is Conmebol. Copa America is only Conmebol. Concacaf teams have only participated as invitees
Copa America is soo much better than Euro cup... The level of competition is much more competitive and far more interesting than boring European football
Should maintain this format in the future. Or at least have both USA and Mexico permanently to make it a 12 team tournament as both are getting too big for the Gold Cup. Canada is also fast improving with this current generation of players. Leave the Gold Cup to the other Central American/Caribbean nations to compete.
Nah I think USA and Mexico should continue in the Gold Cup, but instead send their B and C teams to grow their youth, reserving their best players for the most important tournaments like the World Cup and Copa America.
0:39 I don't know why I think its funny you chose a random image of Argentina's coach. Although yeah, he was the one to bring this year's cup to the announcement.
@@Real_melon5 yes they are in South America but many countries don’t play in the confederation of their continent like Australia , Kazakhstan also Suriname like Guyana plays in Concacaf despite being in South America
They should make a group of 4 made up of teams from around the world and add 2 best thirds in order to have a best of 16 knock out stage. You're welcome 😅😅
Isn’t the Copa also played more often? If honestly felt like they tried to play as often as possible to finally gift Messi a win. I mean after to upcoming tournament in the last 9 years there will be 5 Copas been played, absolutely bonkers.
Conmeboll was a circus before messi was born is a circus and will remain a circus after messi retires, the confederation has always been corrupt and inept even though is making good moves with the 4 year gap copa matching euros
That's why that tournament can't be compare to Euro. Euro clearly most prestige than that copa america. There will even need qualifiers for Europe nation and now euro even have round 16 for three editions already and being held consistently by 4 years once same as world cup while copa america doesn't even have all this sometimes it will be held 3 years or 2 years once just count how many copa america edition have being held since 2000. So technically a strong team like Brazil Argentina Uruguay have a higher chance to won many international titles due to this yet you see them rarely won it but the one who show up is Chile which I can consider Chile only had golden generation around 2014 - 2016. They even invite Japan and Qatar before and how can you define this as prestige as Euro or even world cup? 😂 For me they should at least invite concacaf team if they need good format or just make new tournament which involve all concacaf and conmenbol team. With that kind tournament they also can even have small qualifications process and a bigger amount of valid american team join the tournament.
Never know Argentina didn’t look impressive against Ecuador and Canada didn’t concede a goal against France it is friendlies but anything can happen remember Argentina losing the wc opener against Saudi
C'mon dude sure they're not on the same level but some of them are nowhere near shit. Uruguay and Colombia are actually pretty good, Ecuador seem to have a golden generation coming up, and USA and Canada are gradually improving. They're not world class by any means but they're still nations you shouldn't underestimate.
