I got mine today and am disappointed not in the quality or the sound quality but... I bought this because I listen to long lectures in MP3 that are each a couple of hours long. My iBasso Audio keeps my place in my lecture when I turn off the player, so when I turn it back on I am right where I left off. I got this player to be a take on the go work player so my expensive iBasso Audio player doesn't get lost or damaged and it does not book mark or stop and recover from where I left off in the lecture. As a music player I'm sure it's fine but for my purposes it is a paperweight. Maybe I will see if one of my kids want it.
Just bought one, brand new from Amazon, after about 30 min of exploring its functions ...it failed and will not start. LED flashing red and blue and black screen, tried all permutations of resetting to no avail. Extremely frustrating. My first ever Amazon return :-(
Im looking for a replacement for a Ipod Touch 6th gen. I am just learning about DAPs and was curious if youd reccomend this as a good replacement for an ipod touch? (Mainly used for music in a car/during activities)
I would say that this is a solid replacement for the iPod touch! Although if I recall, the iPod touch has internet and streaming capabilities (if the iPod touch you have is the later version) which this only has Tidal and Qoubuz. If streaming is important for you, I suggest the HiBy Digital M300. If you're fine playing local files and/or streaming through Tidal/Qoubuz, then you can go with the R3 II. Hope I helped!
@obodioreviews thank you! I've only ever loaded files directly onto the ipod touch and never used the streaming function. I would use Bluetooth to connect to car stereo in my 2023 pilot, but that is also to play files from the device.
Hi, nice review. I have one question, so can I upload normal mp3 music files and then the player converts that file to a hi res file? Or do I have to upload a hi res file? I am new to this by the way. Thanks.
@@tobiaschillitrollkarl Thank you, I have now bay it and love the mp3. I have över 1000 songs now and play all in shuffle =) Ther is one thing I can not do I dont think, that I need to do. And that is when I play a song I want it to stop when the song ends. I am I performer and want to usthe mp3 it one stadge, but I want to talk between songs.
Hello, does this DAP mount on a Mac like a external hard drive? The Shanling does it, it's very practical, but the FIIO does not do it and it's a real problem to macusers them to transfer the files to the DAP Thanks for your good video !

Thanks bro! I'm not sure if the OG Chord Mojo could connect to the R3 II as it uses micro usb, but if you can get a type c to micro usb, you can connect the two and use the Chord Mojo as an external DAC :)
Aye bro, I am currently thinking of buying this or Shanling M3X as my first DAP. They are 9k and 13k on Lazada respectively. Should I just get the R3II and save the 4k instead?
IMO it depends on your needs from the DAP. M3X is an android DAP so you'll get more out of it in terms of usability at the cost of battery life and, arguably, a more streamlined UI. If you stream Spotify or Apple music or just prefer to have your own player, go for M3x. But if you want a raw listening experience (with more output power), go for the R3 II :)
Hello, great video! I want to ask you how is the bluetooth performance on the R3 2? I want to upgrade from my shanling M0 Pro, love the little guy but the screen size makes it hard to browse and also, the M0 PRO for whatever reason, does not connect to my smart tvs as my old Qudelix 5k did. Do you think that the R3 2 is a good upgrade from the M0 Pro or would I be better off with an M3X? Does it perform similar to a qudelix 5k or BTR5 on bluetooth as a receiver? Thank you very much
Are u able to advise how fast it loads library on a full 1TB card? I currently have a Sony NW-A45 which takes so long to update database everytime u switch on or change files it is practically useless....
Hello. I have an R3 pro saber (not the 2022 revision, but the R3 II and R3 saber have basically the same Hardware) and I have a 4000 track Library, all in flac and it takes about 10 minutes for the library to update (right after inserting the SD card)
