Are you forgeting all the other countries that have supported the genocide of Palestinians & the USA & us Christians are the biggest supporters of the genocide including 1930s Deutschland.
Thank you for asking insightful, comprehensive questions and for not interrupting your guest Rashid Khalili's detailed, cogent answers on this tragedy of humanity.
Proud of my Palestinian fellow very thorough explanation .I am a victim of Nakba 1948 .Palestinians are very resliant and will never give up and we will liberate Palestine and end the occupation.I am hopeful.
There is no way to correct all the wrongs of the past. I don't like the fighting. I think either Jews and Palastinians need to get married(every adult gets 1 vote), or divorced. Draw a border, and let's go. See if the Boring company would send a Prufrock 3 to connect Gaza and West Bank with bunches of tunnels. Once you get to 3, you can put utilities in one, and traffic in the other 2. Desalination plant on the mediteranean. You would want a port too. Independent, but no shooting. Needless to say, drawing that border would be contentious, and none of it is worth it if the fighting continues. I have no idea why we(US) give unconditional support to this apartheid situation.
🙏🏽 Sorry for your tears but so happy to hear someone come awake from watching the areal True History of the lllllong Conflict… it was NOT JUST Oct 7Th 2023 … it’s been well beyond my generation and my mothers generation and hers before that…. It’s not as black and white and easy and no sides have been always honest…. There are so Many areas of GREY & Much Hypocrisy & Dishonesty all around. There’s so much more than just one thing or one side or the other here. Happy to hear you’ve leanrt some things here…& wish u well 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is an excellent account of the facts. The statement, “any indigenous people would have resisted others trying to disposes them of their land” confirms why this war predates 7 October and remains unresolved.
I've been working hard to educate myself on this complex subject, learning a patchwork of information, from documents, interviews, some very challenging articles; chasing up every comment I've read which mentioned something I hadn't heard about. I knew quite a lot before about events in my lifetime, but have only been able to explore the context since, surprisingly recently, gaining access to the resources on the internet. This is the first time I have heard someone put all these threads together so I can see how they interacted and combined to create the history and the ongoing oppression and conflict which currently exists. I now feel far better prepared to form cohesive responses to challenges to my comments. Thank you so much.
I remember Rashid from AUB Lebanon in late seventies, God bless him, this show is history in a nutshell, it should be shown in every school and university all over the world.
This was so so so good; information was presented to very easily to understand the sheer horror of Zionism supported by USA & UK mostly, towards demise of Palestinians & their land.
Imagine when confronted by pro Palestinian protesters the US congressman claimed in front of the camera they will always back Israel and one even came to the office door with the Israeli flag in hand.
Thank you for interviewing professor Rashid Khaledi, and for asking the right myth-debunking questions. Professor Khaledi's book "The 100 years war on Palestine" is a must read.
Great interview. Just shared it. was especially impressed by how Khalidi sensitively recognized the antisemitism that drove many Jews to political Zionism.
The best hour anyone could spend on trying to understand this conflict. Excellent interview questions from Ash, excellent presentation from Rashid. Thanks both. Viva Palestina.
excellent interview, one of the best thanks to Rashid Khalidi and Novara Media. so eye opening. please do more comprehensive interviews on the details of the past negotiations to null this ridiculous notion that the Palestinians have rejected realistic chances of having a state of their own.
So, now you think you know all. Can you imagine you shock when you comprehend how limited view you proclaim "best, clearest and..." Being IGNORANT. Simply, YOU ARE IGNORANT but youclaim it is "BEST". Foolish , isn't it ?
First-rate synopsis of the factual history of Israel's founding and the denigration of the Palestinians by Rashid Khalidi, as well as a synopsis of his scholarly book, The Hundred Years' War on Palestine. Stellar interview by Ash Sarkar.
Ash Sarkar continues to shine. Rashid Khalidi gives a clear and succinct explanation of Palestinian history, Israel's dispossesion of Palestine and it's actions which led to the present day war. Disgusting, disgraceful and dispicable aren't enough to describe Israel.
Are you anti asylum for Jews? That's the main reason for modern antisemitism isn't it? "Not in my backyard"! And this Muslim schoolar looks like a European Jew, so he's welcome, just not Jews. Have I understood that?
@@chrislambert9435 He said the Palestinians were offered a State but Israel'sTerms and conditions did not give Palestinians sovereignty and Israel would remain in control. Also, each offer took away more land away from Palestine than the one before.
Thank you so, so much for this! I have been searching all over for solid, unbiased information on the complicated continuum of Palestine-Israel history. This was fantastic.
This is called great journalism with true history clearly exposed. Really liked the Rashid Khalidi's full insights and well done to Ash Sarkar to ask the right questions.
This is an excellent video. The amount of clarity and calmness he has as he describes the horrors of his own people is incredible. Settler colonialism is murderous and horrific.
Excellent account. Thank you Ash for very relevant questions and thank you Mr Khalidi for such a knowledgeable summary of key events and motivations. Well done.
What occupation ? Dont believe this Guy, he is against the Jews, actually The present Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the greatest single mistake of the Palestinian Arab delegates was to refuse the offer of an independent State which was offered to them in 1947 by the UN, this newly formed State would have been in areas of old Palestine that are now referred to as the disputed territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip In the Camp David agreements (in the 1970s)held in the USA, Israel offered the Palestinians a State in these disputed territories. Again in the Oslo accords (in around 1993) the Palestinians were offered an independent state in the disputed territories. Many times over the Israeli Government has offered the Palestinian representatives an Independent State
@@chrislambert9435 Take your head out of zionism cult-speak. It's an ethno-nationalist political ideology created in the 19th century. Actually WATCH the interview.
@@LisaTrippas abrahamic religions are poorly plagiarized from a dozen older religions. This has been the best compressed historical explination of events leading up to the current violence against the native palestinian population i have heard to date. Thank You so much.
That was a brilliant interview, showing the intricate and shocking history of oppression and genocide, from so many greedy sources, against the rightful occupiers of Palestine, including Muslims, Jews, Druze, Christians and others, which needs to be spread far and wide. Thank you, Ash.
Having not known much about the history of palestine and israel, i feel a little more informed on the subject. Excellent interview and fascinating information. Thank you.
Great interview. I wish this was on a major western tv channel so that the literacy of people here on this topic could be improved. There are too many myths about Israel here that need to be dispelled
I'M A JEW and VERY fond of arabs. I usually bump into brilliant guys like you. Happy to live in a country with 11 million 'Lebanese'. No one else treat us so well fairly and friendly. Thank you
Thank you. I know now not to waste my time watching main stream media and more importantly ignore the keyboard 'warriors'. I spent time listening to Edward Said as well so thanks for the introduction to Rashid Khalidi.
Said was a considerably greater intellect than Khalid. He genuinely fought for a peaceful and progressive solution to the problems of this region and was not an apologist for extremist, jihadist genocidal intent.
Amazing video!!!! Novara! Incredible interview! Intelligent questions. Best of the best interviews I’ve seen yet! Finally someone with brains asking real questions and great answers as well! Bravo! Keep up the great work 👍🏼
Love this video....helps understand everything la verdad de Palestine... I will order the book....just excellent information narration and questions.... Gracias
Palestinians deserve to first be treated as humans. And they definitively have the right to self defense and self determination un an armed struggle. Gaza is the largest concentration camp in human history and Hamas fighters have shown higher standards of professionalism than the IDF, which operates under the Hannibal Directive. Details are found in article written by Max Blumenthal and his interview by Chris Hedges.

@@chrislambert9435 You mean the incredibly corrupt Palestenian National Authority? And giving up more land when you have more people is not exactly fair is it? Also Palestinians also have their own terms and the ISRAELIS did not want to accept it.... Both sides have done things that have further stopped this peace process but I believe that Israel does not act in good faith even today.
As someone who’s been critical of Ash for plenty of her views in the past, I just have to say what a superb interview, great questions from Ash & very interesting to hear Rashid’s informed perspectives. Thank you!
I think this is the first Palestinian historian I’ve listened to, the testimony from the horses mouth(see Jabotinsky’s own writing) and Israeli historian(of various political bends), this is so grotesque, and it’s so grotesque that one has to read and watch so much content to just cut through the hasbara
This young woman interviewing is so good I am 74 and really appreciate that change a lot of great young women Very good historical documentary thank you
Excellent video, indeed. Partly thanks to Prof. Khalidi's beyond excellent command of the topic but also Ash's fresh, insightful questions. I can only recommend that she interviews others solid scholars on the matter such as Norman Finkelstein, Illan Pappe, Amira Haas and others. Thank you, you got a new subscriber!
thank you for these historical clarifications which should the whole world know but I don't know what they teach their pupils in history classes. You should remind them cause remembrance is beneficial to the believers ذكر فإن الذكرى تنفع المؤمنين
For anyone wanting to educate themselves on the history of the Palestinian conflict. This is the definitive, comprehensive and unemotional explanation. Indeed, an hour well spent. Thank You.
@@chrislambert9435 sorry my friend but I know too much about this to buy your rather cherry picked view of history. Khalidi is one of the most respected historians on this issue, he engages fully with his peers, both Palestinian and Israeli, to create a richer understanding and production of content. I have read some of his books, I'd recommend to you "The Iron Cage". If you are fair minded and interested in justice reading some of Khalidi would be worthwhile to you.
I agree with you on that, but the problem is as follows: - many channels associate Palestinians with Hamas, but they are not! - Hamas is using civilian infrastructures for assaults & is using those people as human shields! Yes, there are civilian casualities on the both sides: Israeli & Palestinians die! And to be clear, I'm no fun of Bibi... and there should be worked out a solution... ...but all that Israel-Palestine mess is just a discraction!!! Вова (Poo-tin) 🤡💩 screwed it up, bigly... Hamas & Hezbollah could not pull it without external help and I'm sure the timing is not coincidental! Russia & Iran are involved: - weapons were delivered by them (also western weapons, which Russians have captured in Ukraine) - Wagnerites have trained Hamas and some of them were even involved in attacks (yeah... there are vids floating on internet and on terrorussian channels) - the same playbook: killing civilians, hospitals... millitary targets are hit just by accident! / the hospital in Gaza was destroyed by missile fired by Hamas - kinda oopsy! / Я говорю тоже по-русски!😈
