They buffed that Holy Wrath ability since he recorded this it does 50 damage now which is kinda insane in feudal

Can that ultimate ability be used on allied units in team games? I'm imagining how powerful it would be buffing some Delhi elephants, or something from Order of the Dragon.

is it really best to consecrate TC first? If you're going to be making knights that's a discount of 35 every 28 seconds (with SoC) whereas tc is 13 food discount every 20 seconds so that just feels like way more value

It looks like they no longer have tbe french keep influence aura though so the consecrate bility kinda balances that out

Step 1: Convert the A Sultan Elephant. Step 2: Use the Haven skill on the Elephant. Step 3: Play with the sanity of your enemies and give them a mental ill.

You can get those boar, I believe, about the same time Rus can. About six, seven minutes

Wait, she can capture sacred sites seeing the first permanent buff she has? From what age onward? Relics aren't mentioned, but sacred sites is already priest territory, so...? Or does it just mean being in the vicinity of a priest capturing one to get xp?

That's the point, the keep influence and the faster tc work rate are moved to jeanne. Also, losing her in early game is a severe loss in tempo since you have to pay 100g for a revive.

@@ville4090 How easy is it to lose a unit wth 225 HP and regen in feudal though? I mean yeah if you play bad it would be bad but overall the downsides to Jeanne D'Arc faction over French are negligible and the advantages massive.

Jeanne dArc Lv4 probably can solo 100 pop fedual army by herself (including the companions and the strength of heaven buff)

Didn’t know anything about her. Was dominating a guy while I was French, thought it was basically over and before I knew it my units are getting decimated by a Joan on horseback with buffed units around her. Came here to make sure it doesn’t happen again

36:10 knight damage went from 32 to 96 that's *300% damage, not +300% damage, sheesh the dev really need to proof read their tooltip.

Man I wish instead of Jeanne D Arc we would have got Baldwin IV with the civ being called Kingdom of Jerusalem it would've fit so much better with the theme of the campaign the dlc is going for. Hell the aesthetic alone would be way more badass his bodyguards being templars or hospitallers whether on foot or horse and his final level him being carried around on his bed doing his best to lead and support his army. Miss opportunities for a very unique looking variant civ with a combination of European and Middle Eastern architecture. It hurts especially since I just found out the campaign has templars and hospitallers unit models that are only in the new campaign and didn't use them for a variant civ.

Kinda makes original French obsolete not sure if its a good idea. Not so hyped for the new update I feel its going to cause a ton of imbalancing issues and alot of the variants just seem like Old Civ ++

The consecrate ability states it only reduces food costs, but it seems to reduce all costs? Maybe I missed Beasty mentioning this. Is this intended? Also, can you consecrate town centers to reduce villager / Jean d'Arc cost?

It seems that I'm missing something. Jeanne d'Arc seems like just a French civ but stronger. So what's the sense in taking simple French civ now? If I understood right, old civs won't disappear, right? So why should I take simple French when there is Jeanne d'Arc which is stronger because of having this kind of a hero unit with buffs?

You're pronouncing Jeanne d'Arc well except you pronounce the an like in Jean, but in jeanne both e's are silent. it's like Jane except with a fully open A sound as in Ann. Jeanne. Jann.

First time I played this civ (as a French main), I had heard that she was super strong and capable of soloing a boar. So I sent her to a boar, and continued developing. She died. XD

Cool gameplay design, borderline disrespectful historically. Joan was not a badass girl boss warrior, she was more like a banner bearer who motivated troops. According to herself, she never killed anyone in combat.

@@inkarnator7717 Malians introduced over Japanese, Byzantines and Spanish and with totally ahistorical units such as made up Dahomey Amazons fighting centuries before they actually existed (and whose only mention was getting massacred at the hands of the French...), the Japanese having 2 all-female units based on individual mentions, the Mongols having mixed gender units (including a female Khan), half the roster being Muslim factions, Jeanne D'Arc being presented as some warrior woman. It has all the hallmarks of woke bullshit. All the devs are doing is to continue on what they were already about so why are you surprised?

Villagers are the best unit in the game, and she loses faster vill production. 20% discount on units in influence of a keep is also lost.

@@franciscomelendeze Worse. Keep influence affects all the unit costs including wood and gold. Her consecrate only affects food cost. And food is easier to come by than the others.
