The Wanderer is getting his first rerun in genshin impact's second half of 3.8. He began as scaramouche and is returning again as the wanderer. To mark this occasion, I want to share my review of the wanderer. In this review I'll review his kit, strengths, weaknesses, how f2p friendly he is and more. This review will help you figure out whether the wanderer is worth it for you. I hope you enjoy and hopefully this helps you decide whether the wanderer is good for you to pull.

Just want to clarify that in the clips where I'm fighting, my wanderer is c2 so his burst deals much more damage than a c0 wanderer would. So please be aware of this. Hope you enjoyed my review, good luck to those wishing!

If you press space bar (jump) when taking dmg and falling wanderers fall animation cuts short and doesn’t take as long

@@Daddy_Of_Haruwu You can tap jump while airborne to gain extra height, this lets him avoid most attacks. Between his CAs and Faruzan C6, enemies will also be staggered a lot. The main situation he'd want a shield is when there's many enemies who can reach him, hard to keep track of all their attacks, but you can use Venti and perma CC them. Against a single enemy ya should be able to dodge well enough, his A4 even lets him do so without much dps loss. That said, you probably should have a shield character as an option when needed.

I have Wanderer and he is one of my most used characters, albeit solely for exploration/farming runs. His flying ability is priceless and I am happy I got him on his first run. I don't use him in Abyss, though, I have other well proven characters for that but I may give him a chance if some Abyss rotation prefers Anemo. Hopefully I'll get some Faruzan cons when pulling for Kokomi this upcoming banner.

He’s meh in abyss..idc because i have plenty other strong char already (haitham hutao nahida kazuha raiden etc)..but hes fun in exploration..running around teyvat looking for chest,killing mobs,doing dailies,unlocking new area or completing world quest never been this fun

@@ameliatheressa1911 Yeah he needs C6 Faruzan before he becomes a top tier Abyss option. Even with a great 4pc Pavillion set and Lost Prayer, he was meh for me too before this banner. Post C6 Faruzan, he's a whole different beast now! He cleared 12-2-1 and 12-3-1 in 29s each, faster than my Nilou Bloom and Ayaka Freeze. Very much looking forward to using him in Abyss regularly now, with how versatile he is he should be at least competent every patch.

I’m a proud wanderer main and love him ever since the first run I been using him and he’s hella strong and fast 😊 wish they would add his original skin as a costume you can switch to even if it’s 5 star I would buy it 1000%

As sum1 who just got him and C6 Faruzan at this current Banner I can confirm he is actually broken both in overworld and abyss. The other day, I was testing him out in abyss, and I accidentally let the Vishaps revive two separate times and he STILL cleared in time. He is C0 with R5 widsith btw.

Thank you for this review, detailed and organized I have a good roster of characters and I don't particularly need wanderer, but I'm not guaranteed and not sure if I should go for the chance to get him or simply save for Fontaine! He does look fun obviously and I might try my luck on his banner

Welcome and good luck! I know what you mean. The feeling of not needing but still wanting a new character. And that's another big thing too, fontaine is right around the corner, so I'm many also are unsure of wishing or saving up their primogems. Gotta save up for the hydro archon, you know

Something of note: 1) shimenawa is actually almost always a damage increase, because a c0 wanderer's burst, is about 10% of his damage or less. It usually ends up being about a 10 to 15% increase, and you can also burst every other rotation or so. Also, viridescent is almost always his best in slot, because while it is a DPS loss for him, it is a huge dPS increase for his team . . Sorry, I'm a huge fucking nerd

what, you should never run vv unless youre running full em wanderer for whatever weird reason, and even then sucrose and kazuha are way better options. Hes built to be a main dps, so VV while it may do okay in reactions, can never amount to DPC, Shimenawa or even 2pc atk 2pc anemo%

@@sheep_gaming5970 if you're running him in a team like national, yeah, sucrose are kazuha would technically be better but if you want to play wanderer, that's your best bet. So when hyper carry is better for his own personal damage, in a team setting, viridescent does tend to be better. Do not underestimate the power of 40% res shred

I've had c0 faruzan and c0 wanderer since his first run. I've never been able to clear abyss with him no matter my supports. yesterday I finally got c6 faruzan and it's like he's a whole new character, and I cleared abyss for the first time ever. She's CRACKED at c6. 100% worth it. Also got wanderer c2.

I have him at c6 and with Faruzan and Bennett both c6 and c5, I speed run the abys. Each floor with Wanderer is cleared in 30 seconds.

Little thing to note that C4 faruzan is useless with c6 which enables her C4, basically what I mean is that only if her "pressurized collapse" hit's the enemy only does active the C4 & with c0 it's only possible through her skill (CA) ,with c6 the skill effect is proc'ed every 3 sec's which is entitled to c4 There's also a issue where when c6 faruzan pressurized collapse hit's the enemy, it lauch's the enemy into the air , making it hard for xaio to plunge on them for the enemy being airborne due to c6 faruzan , it's like every 3sec but I have seen it affecting xiao's DMG . Sometimes his plunges won't even connect to the enemy due to c6 faruzan "pressurized collapse" which lifts the enemy in air

I pulled him his very fun to play very satisfying is well designed but with c0 or just not c6 faru his damage and his hypercarry team isn’t viable. I have c6 yunjin try to build her for him but honestly having ayaka and alhaitam I didn’t bother that much kinda sad cause wanderer is a character I like. His very versatile as a main dps and always pull for who u like but honestly don’t feel defeated from his underwhelming damage without faru c6 also his best 4* weapon is widsith and the other option aren’t very good as widsith which isn’t f2p he is the only character I regret pulling.

Yeah anyone pulling for Wanderer needs to do so with the intent to eventually get Faruzan to C6. As soon as you get her there your tune will immediately change I bet. Also, the new craftable Catalyst in Fontaine will be solid for him, not as good as Widsith of course, but trust me not having C6 Faru is the main issue. I have Lost Prayer and a top 2% Pavilion set yet he was still meh before Faru C6.

Got never had her to C6 faruzan whithin one pity Rotation,my Wanderer is C0 xD Playing those two with Bennet and layla this should be fine I guess

I wanna 36star Abyss with him but he's just not cutting it. Im sitting at C2, good investment 60+/190+ crit with crowned Auto and lvl on the rest of his skills with R5 Widsith. Sadly I dont have C6 Faruzan and only at C2 which is PAINFUL. I dont really have a problem with her energy regen so there's that. The problem lies in Wanderer's damage, which is just lacking even with C2! In this case he's better off as a driver. But even if thats the case, I think he's worth the investment for a meta player coz hoyo could/might release a character that could potentially buff him especially for F2Ps. Very cope, but yah. Overall he's fun to have.

Thats something a few viewers have mentioned, that they struggle to actually clear with him in the abyss. I'm making a video that will go over his best teams to hopefully fix that, though I'm not sure whether his weakness lies with his own damage or his teams

Been using Baizhu with Xiao & Xingqiu in overworld while building friendship & was tempted to sub Wanderer for Xiao, adding either Ei or Yae to see if Hat guy could drive a weird hyperbloom comp. Probably worthless in abyss but could be fun for dailies & domains.

Faruzan is also great for Xiao she makes me deal like 15k more dmg, add Bennet you have too much damage for the overworld. I'll definitely pull for my boi since I like him.

I love playing wanderer with layla. Wanderer the first time i wanted a sheild and didnt use zongli Also funny how u said ya wont realy mention jean because people dont have those c2 & c4 cons. Me who lost 50/50 to jean every time and has c6 jean now... 😂... "hmm intresting"

Personally I use shimenawa on Wanderer, and I do think it's viable on him. I do about 7k-8k normal attack dmg and 22k charged attack dmg (all crit dmg).

it is viable on him, it gives a really good buff to his normals and charged attacks, only downside is that it requires energy for the buff to occur

wanderer is good think about him as an investement basicly makes overworld alot more fun and easier, u can earn more primos when ur exploring with him basicly at a faster rate

Tbh wanderer isn't all that great other than flying for exploration and Eula is more of a physical damage character and physical damage is quickly becoming outdated and maybe even shelved as dendro and especially elemental reactions become more of a thing in Genshin. You may be better off pulling for kokomi for heal and hydro damage or you can skip the banner altogether, save primos and pull for the new characters in the next banner 😊 that way you'll have more primos saved up and be able to make more pulls.

I'm not sure, I don't have childe so I cant give a concrete answer but I'd say childe. Just because he's able to vaporize easily and he has some really strong teams, like national childe

As a hyper def Wanderer post c6 faruzan. As an enabler probably childe cause his onfield hydro application is very high. Wanderers Q nuke can be 200-300k almost similarly to Childe at C0 with C6 Faruzan. Wanderer's hyper team needs good investment since he is doing like 95% of the team dps but it can get well into the millions of damage per rotation obviously depending on weapon, set, combos, supports, etc

Yes wanderer is bad at taking knock backs but.. as if you're just standing around there and doing NAs. Thats unrealistic tbh.

true but again while attacking you're still vulnerable and even then if you keep dodging you'll have very little time to actually attack enemies

Here is my suggestion: If by chance you didn't pull Wanderer on his first run and pulled for Giga chad Itto but somehow ended up with at least a c3 faruzan while you got basically no Gorou cons :(. I would suggest going for Kokomi lol and hoping to pull faruzan cons since her c6 is busted. There are bound to be more anemo dps characters in the game and I for 1 do not have giga chad xiao. So when I pull for kokomi so I can buff my burgeon/dendro teams (as well as co-op) I can also be blessed by faruzan cons that I can then use for when xiao and kazuha get a rerun (Yes I know chadzuha is mostly a support but I think his kit is so cool to use so I would not mind using him on field for prolonged time) Again if you feel that you personally want Hat guy then pull for hat guy. I like Mono-geo so I had to pull for Itto/Gorou, Zhongli and the next 5 star geo character coming in Fontain :).

@@jjjackal1110 Hoping the 5 star geo character does a team defense buff and then her ult and skill do geo dmg based off defense as well as buffing geo crit dmg based on how many geo characters you have.

@@jjjackal1110 yes but again at c6 the new character if done right can be a support that buffs everyone’s defense and dmg but then hyper buffs the team if there is a certain amount of geo characters like how nilou does it for bloom.
