I am a vegan and I was concerned about my gums and plaque on my teeth based on my dentist’s comments to me about my gum health. I learned K2 is important for gum tissue health and so I looked for a plant based source. Natto was the only real option for K2 so I tried it. It was very weird to me but I was motivated so I stuck with it for 10 days and now I actually like it. My gums are now much better and I think K2 is helping me in terms of my arterial health and bone health. I highly recommend people eat natto. I am studying to be an RD and in my college level introductory nutrition class there was no mention of K2 at all. Just K1 which is very different so the information in this video is really excellent as it is providing the public with information only advanced college courses provide. Please get K2 in your diet as I want everyone to have better health.
You are correct about Natto and Vitamin K2, it is the richest food source for vitamin K2. Did you also know that it contains an enzyme called Nattokynase? This enzyme helps your vascular and cardiac health in several ways. I suggest to you search it. You will be pleasantly surprised
I supplement plenty, starting 2 years ago. I was 72 and fat and high Bp and pre type 2 diabetes. I could hardly get out of a chair and wobbled and grunted as i tried to walk. The diabetes scared me into action. (I gave up sugar to save my feet) simplistic i know. Well in 3 months i lost maybe 20 lbs. And my blood test was perfect. Well i stuck to it added K2 when i started see articles about that, i had hard cups in my nose where my glasses sat for years. Well 60 lbs gone, Bp normal, sugar fine but my eyesight has improved oh and the pockets in my nose are dissolving. I don't know what is the most beneficial thing is but i like supplements better then medicine. Just heard you say bone density and i have had increased bone density and the Dr. At the VA said a person your age doesn't get better density. I should be a test subject. I must go ride my Electric unicycle now, follow the fun.
Had we ever met, Don Berry, I’m sure we would have been friends. I suspect I think like you. Enjoyed your post and wish you well. The unicycle; I think not for me. Good luck.
I just had an arterial calcium score test (insurance usually doesn't cover it but it's only $105 and it's a simple CT scan). Anyway at age 70 I had zero calcium in me, and 30 yrs ago I had "mild." I've done intermittent fasting and very low carb for 6 yrs plus K2 kind of off and on but on a regular basis the last 7 months. I believe that people should get this score to see how at risk they are for heart disease. My dr. still told me I should go on a statin even though all my other markers were excellent, including homocysteine and C-Reactive protein. My triglycerides 46; HDL 114, and LDL 151 (I like it high, as it protects against infection and the brain loves it). After 3 weeks of taking a statin, a person has lost significant muscle mass for one thing - no thanks! I'd like to say to the dr. "so our bodies are not self regulating and self healing, and as you get older God says to take a drug to lower your cholesterol because he "didn't design us perfectly?" LDL is a good thing unless you make it a poor quality, like having small dense particles in that LDL. If I'm told one more time to take a statin, I'll ask for an NMR test (nuclear magnetic resonance) to check for small dense particles which I've heard are caused by a high carb diet.
My HDL is also high over 100 and my triglyceride is less than 50. My doctor wants me to take statin drug also. This is very poor advice. I once read a book by John Hopkins experts which says HDL over one hundred is excellent and no need to worry about total cholesterol over two hundred.
Spot on! Low carb/ keto is crucial. D3, K2 is so helpful too! It puts the calcium in the correct places instead of in the soft tissues. Check out : ivor Cummins, the cholesterol code.
As a Nutritional Therapist, this video is the best and most comprehensive information available to the general public, en mass! It is imperative that everyone watch this easily understood video from now on, in my practice! Thank you So Very Much!
@@peggybock7438 Hi Peggy! I recommend a full spectrum supplement called “Bio ADEK Mulsion.” This way, EVERYTHING you need for D reasons is in easy drop form! No pills plus it’s emulsified and that is superior method for fat soluble vitamin absorption! Bio-ADEK-Mulsion® supplies vitamins A, D3, E, and K (K2 and K1 in a 1:1 ratio) in an emulsified form, to assist with uptake and assimilation. Each serving of Bio-ADEK-Mulsion® supplies 375 mcg RAE (1,250 IU) of vitamin A, 25 mcg (1,000 IU) of vitamin D3, 20 mg (30 IU) of vitamin E, and 100 mcg of vitamin K (as K2 and K1 in a 1:1 ratio). If you already have a D supplement, AND have had your D level tested and know your number, I would be happy to tell you exactly how much D to take and approximately how long it will take you to reach your goal! I personally vote for 80! Up to 100 is great if you can get there! Extremely ill people report that once their D levels are in the Optimal range, they feel Fantastic!!
Thank you very much for presenting such an informative video. I did not see a date of the presentation, but viewing the dates of the comments, I suspect it was over 2 years ago (from 2019). I've known about Vitamin K2 for years, but never realized how important it is for reducing calcification, until the past year. Please continue with more information of this very important vitamin. Thanks!
Fantastic! Super-important health information for everyone! Last time I bought some vitamins I also bought K-2 not knowing it was so good for health. I'm so glad I bought it!!!
What a great presentation on mk7, I have been taking 100mcg daily and with this information will increase to 400, very informative and very technical. Thanks
THIS IS AN AWESOME PRESENTATION FOLKS. SO MUCH INFORMATION. I'm not a Doc but Kiran shared information easy to understand in layman's language. Thank you Kiran, I learned a lot.
Fetuin-A was discovered back in the 1990s and is still relatively unknown to mainstream Science and mainstream Medicine. Here is a couple articles on Fetuin-A: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fetuin www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-20832-7
Wow! I have listened to this video at least a dozen times. Fantastic presentation, and, superb information. After a disturbing CT scan two weeks ago I'm chasing up everything I can, on top of a good diet,to give my body some extra help. This video is full of great information, and, well described. Super job done!
Fermented soy is what these studies suggest when considering the beneficial long-chain K2 Vitamins. There are many studies that contradict all our ideas and it can be very confusing to say the least. What I’m finding is that we have a lot to learn, and we need to be very careful and use information to discover the solutions. Things are not so simple...pointing to one nutrient or food can be very misleading. It depends on many factors. Not contradicting any people here...we all mean well. But there are as many studies that indicate the opposite....and we gotta be careful.
Any fermented food is very good ! Soy unfermented is very bad ,get away from supplements with soy stay away from salad dressing with soy or canola oil very bad stuff trust me I raised soy stay away from it ,it's full of Monsanto's roundup garbage but at a industrial level DONT DO IT
Yup, I’ve had profound hair growth since I started supplementation of MK7. Now starting my experiment with MK4. If anyone wants an update in the future, just reply and I’ll get a notification.
@@sonofman70x7 I’m not sure which is best. My product contains both MK4 & MK7 (Dr’s Hope). Things are still going well. I have more hair than I’ve ever had, however, to be fair, there’s never been a period in which I’ve tried for this long. I’m going to cut it all off to get a better idea of how well its working.
"45:18" -- The usual "dosing" of Vitamin K2 (M-7) is from "100 to 300 mcg," says the speaker. However, he says their tests involved "320 mcg" & that's where they saw the most benefit.
Pay close attention to what he said. There is a DOSE DEPENDENT benefit with use of MK-7. At 100mcg daily, you’ll get a few of the listed benefits. At 200mcg, you’ll realize additional benefits. At 320mcg/day, the dose he and the other doctors tested MK-7’s effect on cardiovascular health, you not only get improved cardiovascular health but also improvement in nerve health, skin integrity, blood flow, muscle function, etc.
Why single out K2-7 and not talk about K2 all together while telling us the big difference. K2-mk7 is longer acting snd stays in the body for longer than mk4. However mk4 is nerve protecting.
Sorry, as a nurse, saying D3 is poisoning yourself is outrageous. Yes, Vit K2 MK7 is complimentary and beneficial, for people living in the northern atmosphere, Vitamin D3 is vital.
@@nadogrl The first effects was that it became easier to remember the little things like car keys and cellphone when going to work, for example. I had been prescribed medicin against gout, but when I read the documention on possible side effects, including diabetes, I decided not to take it for the rest of my life and instead take d3 + K2 mk7 and instead use naproxen if and when the pain got unbearable and only then. It has worked OK for some months now. The gout medicin was allopurinol, if you are familiar. About a month ago, I discovered a type of vitamin C (ascorbate) with cofactor? Q10. The pain in my back and left shoulder has suddenly dissappered. Coincidence? It may just be my imagination, but it seems to me that vitamines are very powerful healers... Thanks goes to Dr Berg for his down to earth explanations. Am I making any sense?
Jan Sirkia - Thank you for explaining. So good to hear your positive experience. I’m not familiar with any prescription drugs. Isn’t that why we appreciate Dr. Berg, and others (rhetorical). Best wishes for continued success.
Their product Megaquinone is only 320 mcg. The studies I saw, that were on osteoporosis recovery , the lowest effective dose was 45 mg. not mcg, but mg.
Than you for your talk it is very important and ignites many questions. I have a question and I hope to find a direct answer in one of your coming videos. You advice people to take D3+K2 for strengthening bones and avoiding heart disease. However, you did not mention the side effect of K2 especially for patients who are taking blood thinning medications. Do they have to avoid taking K2 at all or they can take it with a dose that cannot contradict the working action of other blood thinning medications? Thanks and I hope to find an answer with pleasure.
Well Dr I wish you was in Canada very good explanation I been taking k2 for ABOUT three years and D3 12years since I was diagnosed with THYROID CANCER and was REMOVED but I feel GREAT only one problem I have very low TESTOSTERONE
Did your free and total level of testosterone( including libido?)dropped after starting suplementation? That would be very interesting since vitamin D3 should increase level of testosterone.
We in our culture make natto quite a lot but we don’t eat it raw as natto is eaten in Japan ( by raw what I mean is not as “raw” as “uncooked” kind of raw, since soya beans are cooked prior to fermentation and therefore natto can’t be raw in the first place) We usually dry the natto and store away for later use, and when we want to cook the dried natto we pre-soak it and then cook in usual method. Please can anyone tell me if cooking natto destroys its K2 MK-7 properties?
Hi..I’m on Clopidogrel 75mg,80mg aspirin,40mg atorvastin as my 90% post stent pocedure..and i still had 100% -50%-50% occlosion left on my RCA n LCX,and my doctor wants to do PCI CTO 3 months later for another stenting..Can I consume K2 mk7 along with my post stent med pills? And what dosage should i take?.. please I need your guidance,Thank’s.
I have a question I take Eliquis and the bottle I bought said if you're taking a blood thinner you need to talk to your doctor I don't trust my doctor's advice so what is your opinion about taking K2 with blood thinner?
If your body has a deficiency in any vitamin or mineral it will result in a breakdown of function, the problem of taking a single vitamin is balance, we know D3 works alone side K2 but him many others are placed out of balance
Wow. I live at a high altitude (8,000 feet) and have never fully acclimated here and found out I was vitamin D deficient. I am also dealing with winter depression again (in spite of it being sunny here most of the time and trying to get out in it as much as possible.) I have some Vitamin K coming in the mail soon and I hope it helps with this altitude situation worsening my depression and fatigue.
I recently moved from a lifetime at sea level to over 4k feet (not 8k but still kinda high). I started on the K2 about 2 weeks ago. Hope it works well for you!
Just started today! Hope it works out for you too if you have any troubles it can help. It can take longer than we think to acclimate to higher altitude, but 4,000 should be ok for you hopefully!
My recommend for mood and to help with vit D absorption ( you need c. 5,000 mgs/day) is to also take magnesium L- threonate. An omega 3 supplement may be added too.
My doctor tried scare tactics by sending me to a cardiologist about a murmur that I did not have. He was hoping another doctor would convince me to take cholesterol meds. I was fine and did not need these needless proceeders. More money spent for nothing.
The medical industrial complex's failure to properly research and diagnose and treat microbiome and sleep and vital nutritional deficiency issues (including those related to Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 and Magnesium deficiencies as well as iatrogenic prescription medication usage) is a major reason why psychiatric iatrogenesis is a primary contributor to the third leading cause of death in the U.S. which is iatrogenesis in general. If the U.S. spent just a fraction of the over $40 billion each year it spends just on iatrogenic psychiatric drugs alone, on researching the issues discussed in this and related RU-vid presentations we would probably, Lord willing, achieve an absolute revolution in medical efficacy improvement and iatrogenesis reduction. Thomas Steven Roth, MBA, MD Christian Minister for Biblical Medical Ethics, and therefore, Scientific and Religious Refugee from the Clinical Practice of Psychiatric Standards of Care
I have seen a lot of presentations coupling K2 with D3, but am hoping to see some content on whether it might be better to take K2 on its own where there is likely a lot of built up ucOC or for those who live in sunnier climates and get a lot of natural D.
calcification= hardening . statins cement plaque to arterial walls and inside them but cementing and hardening is not arteriosclerosis by simple physics? hardening???
