Okay. the update no one asked for, it's been a grueling week of constant practice but actually I have to thank you for this. I've finally pulled it off a couple times in public lobbies.
On the bright side, if you _do_ get good at low fps hug techs, they'll be way faster at least! I think most consoles run at a framerate that still makes it possible, though it is harder :/
Needed this, ive been missing a lot of hugtechs, sometimes i do pull it off efficiently and hitting suv, but i always wanted to do it at least 70% of the time so i dont waste much time trying to trick survivors
Yo, I'm sorry if you saw my previous comment where I was being frustrated & pissy about not understanding the tech. I was having a rough day and vented out everything in here for some reason. No excuse for throwing my mood at another person though. It wasn't anything wild but if you did see it before I deleted, apologies again. You're doing a service by making these & I appreciate that a lot
I've been STRUGGLING to hug tech consistently, even w/the vids out there. This guide however was just perfect. I can't even describe how well you've explained this LOLL- Tysm
Once again, thank you for the tutorial. Even with so many hours in the game i did'nt know how the trajectory of hug techs works. Until now, thanks Alran
Hey dude, I know you made this a while ago, and I’m a bit to the party… But thank you so much for taking into account the 60Fps gamers. I absolutely love playing Oni and Blight on Console, but I get to a point where against top top teams, I am limited and have progressed as much as possible in chase without using techs I cant do. This is why have loved playing Billy, Wesker and even Huntress because you can enjoying their infinite skill ceiling, without issues I cant control. However not many guides take this into consideration! So yeah, lots of blabbing there, but thank you again, for going through all aspects to learn the tech!! You the best! 😊
8:53 Thank u so much for that guide , that part is the most important part of the video .Because of it , I finally hit my hug tech, and I can do it almost every time
the round the corner tip helps so much omg, i gave up a little while ago but that alone would help me get the muscle memory so i think i'll give it a try again. thank you for making this
WOW, that is a fat knowledge bomb! Thanks for the update about the technical tidbits, that’s actually insanely helpful. I never knew that the predetermined bump distance actually gimps your hugtechs, I’ll be keeping that in mind!
Buddy of mine was hyping up Wesker and we both have been trying the various techs. I play on Xbox and this is rough.. aside from going back and forth trying to time the hug tech perfectly is tedious, but it’s possible on console. Glad you post videos like this, Wesker is such a fun and cool killer.
Bro, i absolutely love u because i was playing for some months always on 120 fps and i also learned before on console how to hug tech and i was always wondering why i don't get as far as before with my hug techs so big thanks man
Amazing video and in depth guide. Watched your video on snagging a survivor through shack window at the proper timing and angle and was actually able to pull it off randomly in game a few weeks after watching it. W videos keep it up
Thank you so much for taking the time for doing this vid. Im really eager on training it, but it's so difficult. With this guid i think i understand the tech better behind it and how to do it
amazingly indepth guide, thank you for all the time and dedication you've put into wesker to curate all of this information! i cant wait to still be unable to hug tech 😎 seriously though amazing work, and i cant wait to try some of these tips out! the little bump graphic was also a great touch. really simplified the visualisation for me to better understand!
I use Nvidia Control Panel to set my max fps to 72 for DBD. You can go to "Manage 3D Settings" -> "Program Settings" and add DBD (deadbydaylight-win64-shipping.exe in steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight\Binaries\Win64) to the program list, and max fps is just an option you can change there.
So I’m a ps5 player trying to learn how to hug tech. I had the ps4 ver of the game so I’ll upgrade it for the extra frames and try to learn it. Thank you for explaining the frames I’ve wasted a lot of time lmao
hey! how do you make your game look like that? honestly im in love with how it looks and im certain it can help me see survivors easier since my eyesight isn't so good
I’m not sure what he uses but a popular method of achieving this look is through Nvidia Freestyle. My game also looks like this and there are tutorials specifically for dbd on RU-vid.
I am new to the game and just bought wesker. U should do like a begginers guide. This sounds very useful but so advanced too😅… hope u release more videos that can help me soon
I have maybe a stupid question but in console can you do some spicy hug tech like you do ? On a tree or things like that because we can’t change fps to 90 :/
BHVR be like: "You can hug tech easily at 120 fps calm down! Yeah we know yall like that. But we decided to add a downside, you get 0 distance with 120. However you can get ton of distance with 60 fps! Oh yall don't mind the texture of the game and smoothness of it? Well, we decided to make it excessively difficult for you at 60 fps! NICE RIGHT? ENJOY..."
I love your videos, and I don't know if there is a possibility that this guide could have a Spanish translation, it's just that I also want to understand this guide.
Please, i beg you. Can you make a quick guide/explain me ALL the steps to do REBOUNDS? I CAN HUG TECH BUT NOT REBOUND, IT JUST DOESN'T WORK I WANNA CRY
Yep! Most of Wesker's techs are using Skinny Bert logic in different ways for different effects. That's why the discovery of it was so massive and helped us understand and apply every tech much better. Hug techs only exist because the Bound Path is smaller than your model, enough for you to dash immediately before getting your model stuck on a wall.
@@alranican random thing I saw today doing them on ps5, for some reason, when I do them when there is physically nothing blocking the bound path (like, a full dead zone ahead of me), I sometimes just cancel the hug midway.
@@Papa_Emeritus_IVyou’re probably aiming too far towards the wall you’re hugging then. That happens a lot. Gotta get that balance of aiming as close to the wall you’re hugging as possible without bumping it
Idk why, but I can't put it above 60fps. In my NVIDIA settings as well as my game settings I have it set to 120fps maximum, but I'm still stuck on 60. It's not a graphics card limitation, I have a 3060Ti, but does anyone know what's limiting me to 60fps?
It affects a lot of stuff in subtle ways, for many killers. For example, Legion actually vaults further out from a window while in Feral Frenzy at 60fps compared to 120fps. For Wesker, you get a lot more distance from Rebounds on higher fps, but besides that and Hug Techs, it doesn't significantly change much. Lower fps also seems to make his slaps after vaulting a pallet slightly more consistent, although that may be placebo. Hard thing to test.
Oh also lower fps makes it easier to grab survivors over small objects with your bounds, forgot to mention. I covered that in an earlier video a while back.
@@alranicanthis is because the lower frames reduces the window for the game to check if you've collided with a survivor. If the check skips one frame before the collision, it will actually increase the reach of the next check. It's difficult to explain, but it's present in almost every game that uses a projectile or moving hitbox.
I think so tried it alot too. Seems like you need to be more far away from the wall angle wise too. The "charge bar flick" isn't working like in the video it shows the bar way more far away from the object now.
I haven't done testing with that myself, but I would assume it is identical to limiting your fps. I believe a 60hz monitor at 120fps would function the same as if it were a 144hz monitor at 60fps. I'll test it later to confirm and update you on this.
Ok, I've just finished testing and oddly enough it seems the framerate still matters. It's not what I expected, but even setting my refresh rate to 60 had framerates effect hug techs in the exact same way. The hug tech timing for 120fps was exactly the same-as was the distance/acceleration-whether I had 144hz or 60hz, and the same goes for 60fps. Not at all what I expected. I find it very strange that frames that aren't even rendered can still affect things. Thank you for the interesting question! It was fun to test.
