Always loved cave bases. There's something so relaxing about the darkness and interesting materials.

Pranked, I thought the title was something like "Everything Wrong With the Caves in 19 Minutes or Less" for a second.

I enjoy these videos, as they give true factual information that not only help you survive, but help make your days you survive more efficient, like for example; staying insane.

As a person who regularly bases in caves in DST, few things that should be noted. Rock lobsters and bunny men are both insanely useful for making mob farms. Bunnies can be used to murder themselves with just 1 carrot by using a fake attack on another bunny after befriending one near a group, wait til dawn when the survivors go back inside to loot the meat, carrots should be CAREFULLY picked up as picking up meat by mistake can be fatal. Rock lobsters can be used to farm spiders forever. Place a rock in a boxed in area, next to a spider nest, drag befriended lobsters to it and the lobsters will never stop fighting them, and since they heal after taking too much damage they won't die either, giving you free access to silk and monster meat. Areas that can tell the time of day, or light up can be used to create farms, berry bushes, ect as they count as getting daylight. Helpful for sources of veggies underground without heading near the ruins or if you have bad mushrooms biome spawns. Barring someone digging up all the blue and green mushrooms usually the medium to larger versions of those biomes can net you enough sanity restoration that with a fridge you can keep yourself sane. Additionally the red picked mushrooms are great vegetable replacements for the crockpot. The spiders who shield themselves are easy to handle, as soon as they shield themselves don't attack them for a few seconds and they will pop back out taking full damage again. Edit: If you are not ready for a rock worm wave early, flee to a bunny village and run circles until they die. Just be careful getting the berry as picking up the meat is bad and the bunnies will eat the glow berry, especially annoying if you are using moggles.

Antlion cave ins are a benefit what do you mean. You can move around the boulders and use them as walls to an underground base, and if you don't want that it's just a resource delivery, mine them for rocks.

Fun fact about the underground earthquakes; they can lead to confusing the entire surface. Was almost dead, got K.O'd by falling debris, and everyone saw 'Babbleplay has been killed by Gold Nugget.'

although toadstools drops are useless i do think you should fight the boss as he is entertaining to fight with pretty visuals and unique attacks, its also an enjoying challenge to fight an toadstool which has been affected by an canary

There's a way to tell if you gonna find a depth worm, if the mysterious plant is wet then it's a depth worm, if it's not wet, then it's not a worm

fun fact:if you spawn a Varg in the caves it will call depths worms but the worms will kill the Varg but run away as soon as there's 3 of them.

yes and no slupers can be taken to the surface (and possibly to your shadow manipulator) to make the belt of hunger which can help woflgang stay mighty for longer and other characters well ... to starve less like toadstools drop the mushroom hats bluepring and they are good for everybody well since it helps the mighty for of wolfgang + the belt of hunger = alot more time mighty for other characters ? THEY WILL STARVE EVEN LESS

Btw I was Webber one time at like day 36 and went into caves. I was at a new cave point then my run instantly ended because I was in the middle of a bunnymen I was attacked by like fifty at once and was currently running away from the dragonfly (btw I know just to kill them now) and I was low health...... You can guess what happened next

I think the mushroom planter is good I think 12 mushrooms for a single living log is a good deal. Mushrooms help manage sanity (keeping it low or high) and they only normally regrow after rain. You are likely to find plenty of Treeguards anyway when using giants to break trees so I think it is a good idea to get a mushroom planter

Stay away from the bunnymen if you are playing as Webber because they will attack you regardless of whether you have meat or not. The cave spiders are fine to be around though.

Can rock lobsters be taken into the surface in DST? In regular Don't Starve they can and can be very usefull, even tough they will take over the entire world and you'll have to deal with their sound forever.
