I'm not even learning Japanese but I always find your videos very relaxing 😅. It's also great to know some of these things because I can talk to my Japanese students about the differences between English and Japanese. Great video as always 😊
I've been self studying Japanese for 19mos. Mostly thru reading and watching native shows. The only thing that I'm still struggling when reading and listening is katana words. It's keep breaking my momentum and most of the time the sound doesn't make sense and difficult to guess😅 The key is consistency. You need to read everyday so you won't forget the reading and meaning of kanji. Eventually, you'll start to hear those words when watching native contents.
I loved it. I've been feeling that I need to read in Japanese more, but had no idea where to start in other ways than reading texts directed at native Japanese speakers. Your video filled some gaps in an organized way and I'll check out your recommendations. Take care! 🌸
Wonderful video!!! I'm a Japanese Language Teacher and you gave excellent advice. Also, thank you for all the recommended apps and websites. I'm always looking for new resources to recommend to my students. Thanks and have a great day! ❤
do you use ereaders like a kindle when reading Japanese books? I wanted to know if there’s a sort of middle ground from satori reader to a physical book where I can still use a dictionary but without the amount of help satori reader gives 😖
Awesome video! This maybe a little bit controversial, but Google translate (photo function) is actually pretty awesome for a quick translation. Sometimes I just don't have energy to search 'compound kanji words' individually, especially if I do not know furigana. Furthermore, I am not sure if this counts as reading, but visual novels are also neat source of reading practice. It is way easier with voice acting and visual images to accompany the text. Recently finished Starry Sky and I feel huge jump in my vocab and overall comprehension.
No no it’s not controversial I think! Google translate can be good to understand a text but not to learn how to read, unless you’re using it to check your understanding of a text 🤗 and as for visual novels, they definitely count as reading!! However since those usually contain spoken Japanese (which is not exactly grammatically correct and contains lots of idioms) they do not tend to be recommend to beginners ✨🤗 this is a generalisation however and you can definitely find things that are more literal and easier to understand (especially with the help of the images like you said ☺️)
Incroyable vidéo ! Après avoir appris l'anglais et le coréen, tes vidéos m'ont donné envie de commencer à apprendre le japonais, tes recommandations sont très utiles pour démarrer !
Merci pour la vidéo, tu m’avais dit dans une réponse que tu faisais une vidéo sur comment acheter des ebooks à l’étranger, mais je m’attendais pas à une vidéo aussi copieuse. Merci aussi pour le descriptif de la vidéo avec tous les liens. Ça a dû demander un sacré boulot.;
