@@thelifeofawriter thanks for the reply is my travel experience but am not that good with the computer so I need help with everything really if possible thanks 🙏
It's so true about following the writing process a step at a time. I made the mistake of dumping my first draft onto a professional editor instead of self editing. I paid an arm and a leg in £ because the editor saw a lot of plot holes that needed a developmental editing. I’ve published the novel since 2020 and it was such a hard way to learn how not to write a book. 😅
I had been googling so many different sites for so many different things, and this is the first one I had found that I actually wanted to listen to. As I watch, I find I really want to listen and learn. Another thought I had, was the sense of familiarity. I know that if I had met you years ago, I think we would have become great friends. It saddens me (in a way) that isn't the case. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others.
how do I go about finding someone to look over my manuscript? how do you find someone that's willing to publish your book? I prefer to self publish through amazon
If you plan to self-publish, then there's no need to find someone to publish your book. You will publish your own book. As far as getting someone to look over your manuscript, it depends on the capacity at which you want them to look at it. For example, I do substantive editing, while others will do proofreading, or copy-editing. howtowriteabookthatsells.com/substantive-editing-copy-editing-proofreading/
Thank you! You have helped me so much already. Would any of your advice be different if I was writing non fiction? Or do you have resources to recommend for non fiction writing? In gratitude.
I really loved the idea of your writing mistakes❤ Yasss it was so helpful and practical! I am writing my first book as well and feels a very long and frustrating journey too❤ Thank you for your tips❤
I cant seem to find it, but have you ever done a video about the differences between self and traditional publishing? Pros v cons of both? Thank you for doing all of this, fantastic content, you are my favorite writing coach.
I've had a book idea I've been wanting to write for a while and don't even know what genre. It based on real life but I want to fictionise it and give it some action because I don't want it to be boring lol. Thank you for this video madam😊
I'm thinking of writing novel, but i don't know how to. I do poetry and stuff but writing novel feels overwhelming. I don't know if I have it in me to keep going with a novel. Writing long consistent stuff with a storyline doesn't come as naturally as writing poems to me. Do you have any tips for me? Any tutorial that teaches how to write? Thank you.
Good Afternoon Beautiful, I am new too your channel. It was very helpful because I am writing my first book. I wanted to know if you proofread manuscripts for people and give suggestions for a better read afterwards
Thank you for your advice. I'm worried about the selling part. I love to write but can't sell a fur coat to and Eskimo. I'll be thinking of a targeted audience. Do you have any more advice in regards yo marketing and sales? Are there people who can do that for you? I'll definitely subscribe to your channel.
🤣🤣 Yes, I have an ebook specifically related to marketing. You can find it here: howtowriteabook.samcart.com/products/how-to-market-your-first-book/ and then an eBook on target audience which you can find here: howtowriteabook.samcart.com/products/target-audience
How do I know when I have something good to write about and when should I contact Tyler Perry.Im going through a divorce and I have a story to tell.PLEASE help me
As a first writer, I would add that you have to find out if your idea and your writing skills are sufficient to result in a book A N D what kind of book that will be in the end! Coming back to this video and this channel, clear advice about technicalities can help immensely focus your energies on the writing process! ...and actually, having fun doing it...;-)
I find that dialogue makes my dark story too bubbly and alive. Idk i struggle writing a story with dialogue cos the dialogue is too innocent and weird. I am good at speech and informal speech but it's too informal and playful that my story looks childish and for teenagers when it's not....
