I just think cream is an inexpensive way to start and learn. The creams have a better ease of use, and are just so inexpensive. And same goes for a Synthetic brush

Great intro to traditional shaving video Marion! I can't think of anything to add. I can't remember if you mentioned this but: If you're new to safty razors, remember not to use alot of pressure. They will bite! Have a good one! Steve

I wish I knew this then as well. Use creams until you make great lathers every time. Try every blade out there in one razor. Ease in. Learn technique. There isn't any special soap or razor that will give you immediate awesome shaves as a newb.

Stirling are, of course, a perfect soap choice for people just getting their feet wet.

They are as far as artisan. I just wanted to show the cheapest way to start, and I feel that is with a tube of Shave Cream.

I agree I didn’t like the cremo as much as a traditional cream. I do like the smell of the cremo with the salmon color top. Good video.

Nice Marion - great vid. Hard to narrow stuff down. Razor- agree with Henson mild. I would also add RazoRock gamechanger .76P. If the budget allows get the better razor where tolerances are tight. Aligning blade is a pain and could result in bad shaves. Both of my Merkurs it was needed. Fatip has past known issues. Also add proraso creams which you touched on. I think a good middle of the road blade is Gillette silver blues. Astras are the default starter but doesn’t work for me.

This Merkur and Fatip really don't have any alignment issues. I was more worried about my Fatip, but it lines up perfectly.

This is inexpensive but. You can go down the rabbit hole. Like me. New razor or two every week. New soap and after shave every week. Yeah but buy the best you can afford to start. Stirling is an excellent place to start. After you get all their soaps aftershaves and colognes you probably won't need anything else. The Barbershop is a great scent. I think it's their number one. The bath soap is excellent also.

Right. I just wanted to go over the cheapest options, and so many scents to choose from was one of the things that kept me from going Artisan. All these creams are pretty much just clean and not really polarizing on scent. But Stirling is where I would start with artisan

I say to all beginners: a good shave is not a BBS shave, it's a feel good shave. What's the point of getting a smooth shave if you're going to have irritated skin burning all day afterwards?
