Your videos are, give or take, 3 times longer than other channels of similar genre. BUT, I never skip even a second of your videos. On other channels, I usually just jump right at the benchmarks. But for your videos, no kidding, I feel like I am at a very important lecture and if I skip I WILL miss something that'll definitely be in the exam(the purchasing exam). I really appreciate the effort you put in your videos. No offence to other channels, but most of them are simply game centred. Your channel is Tech Deals, which means it's more about getting the most out of every rupee(I am from India) I spend and not just getting the most expensive components. Professional, thorough and most importantly YOU DO NOT CONDESCEND your viewers. Not everybody is well versed with the technicalities of computing, and you get that. As always, great video. I know this is a loooong comment. Your videos really help.

I think the reason people dislike this video specifically is either because 24 minutes of lecture, disagree with this guy because they are AMD fans, disagree because the 1060 is worth it, or... they dislike for no reason. They just want someone like YOU to make this comment and laugh for no reason.
@katsam4457

+JustGaming I like the lecture part. He's very thorough and that helps a newbie like me. If he hadn't mentioned that the 1060 requires PCI cable and wouldn't normally be powered by pre-built PC's power supply I wouldn't have known about it. I'm learning a lot from his vids.

This has become one of my favorite tech channels because of the format "what is this, why should you watch, and why should you care?" It's so much better that having some benchmark graphs on the screen. Like the video you did breaking down the 1060s and why you should consider buying the higher vram version.

There's one big factor you forgot to mention, about the gtx 1050ti vs gtx 1060 3gb performance per dollar debate and it's the cpu. If you have a pentium or i3 cpu, than the 1060 3gb won't be 75% faster than the gtx 1050ti in games like gta5 or battlefield 1 mp, especially in battlefield 1 mp (cpu heavy game) there won't be a difference between the two cards, the i3 can even bottleneck the gtx 1050ti at times. But if you have at least an i5 you will get 75% more performance in all games with the gtx 1060 3gb. So it comes down to what cpu you have.
@HayateAzekura
@HayateAzekura 7 лет назад
The i3-6100 will NOT BOTTLENECK a GTX 1050ti. Dont just look at one benchmark out there. In the end of the day the GTX 1060 3gb is far better deal than a GTX 1050ti as it can play alot of games on ultra that the 1050 cant.
@joshmarvz
@joshmarvz 7 лет назад
gta v is just cpu intensive game thats why it would perform less on an i3 than an i5. i think theres no or just a little bottleneck there.

I know pretty much everything this guy talks about in all of his videos but I still enjoy watching. I always imagine this as the perfect channel for a complete PC novice or a parent looking to sort out a gaming PC for their child. Everything is broken down into bite sized info and nothing is too detailed. Do you need to know exactly what FPS a card gets in 15 recent games? No you don't all you need to know is that this card will generally get you High settings at 1080p at 60 FPS. If any of the tech channels on youtube ever had a chance of going truly mainstream then this would be on the list. There's a hell of a lot more people that don't know and don't really care to research than there are people who wanna get into the nitty gritty
@TechDeals
@TechDeals 7 лет назад
Thank you for the kind words... You're right on the money, that is exactly what I'm aiming for, a mainstream channel that doesn't get into core counts or production process... notice in this video I never once talk about 14nm Samsung vs 16nm TSMC? Who cares? Well, ok, some people do, but that has nothing to do with the way a card plays games. It does what it does.

Hey guys great vid and comments! Question for you, I have this Optiplex 790 core i5 2400 and I tried a different core i5 and it wouldn't turn on so I left that alone, then I tried this GTX 1050i and it wouldn't turn on neither.. the PSU is a Dell 80 Plus Gold, so I wonder what could be wrong? Hope you understand me fine lol
@gremlin1196
@gremlin1196 4 года назад
@@rudyshoplopez7366 could be a few things but first thing that pops to mind is the motherboard. Some of the boards in these older dell and hp style builds are very "low spec" and sometimes dont deliver a huge amount of power to certain elements like the pci slot your card went into. Of course if another i5 youre sure is compatible didnt work either it could be faulty but its hard to tell with any certainty without looking at it directly

Great run down. The 10 series card from nvidia this year has been great to follow. They're so much more powerful relative to everything that's come just a year ago. The 1050 series would have been about as powerful as the 760 I owned a couple of years ago and I paid way more of that.

39Watt? I think they supply 75W . For example my optiplex 980 MT has a 305 watt power supply and 75w to the pcie on a core i7 with 3 hdd. The card runs well so far, Sadly though it doesn't fit in the top pciex16 slot so you will have to put it in the bottom one.

Ouch! That's expensive. If you are unable to build yourself, You could have bought the parts and got a local PC store to do it for you.. It wouls have been much cheaper.. You could have had a 1050ti or better and a better PSU with the saving. Anyway, Yes a 1050 ti will work in your machine perfectly. Anything more and you will need a better PSU.

I wanted to look at a bunch of comparisons between these cards, and searched for a benchmark of the 1050 ti alone. At first I hesitated about watching a 24 minute video when I only wanted to see something specific, but this actually answered all the questions I had. Thanks.

Thank you so much this was the most helpful video on the internet. And it is still very relevant, since the 1650 is in the same wattage tier as the 1050 and 1050ti.

Anytime I'm upgrading or looking into a part for a computer, this guy is my go to guy for specs, benchmarks and overall facts for any piece of computer equipment. 95% of the time, all my questions are answered in one of his videos, and if not, he's very good at answering questions in the comments below. I don't think I have ever even come close to disliking one of his videos. Great video sir! I actually bought a 1050ti because of your videos alone. Granted my 1050ti is a 2 fan MSI Overclock (it was all my local computer store had.) and your review of this card swayed me to buy one. And I say thank you! Because I've yet to be disappointed by it!
