the problem with overclocking is that the normal GPUs are so extremely powerful that it is not more necessary. For me personally it is the opposite for everyday use, it needs less noise and heat and saves power. I don't like Nvidia but the 4060 is so great for saving money! I hope more cards like this come out with 75W TDP ! But I always love KINGPIN's work! Big RESPECT❤ 👍
Huge thanx to GN for stopping by the new lab, it was a blast to hang out with Steve and his crew! Also I truly appreciate the support and interest that the gamers nexus fans have given me over the years with the cards and other HW I have been involved with. THANK YOU guys!
I have never seen KP this talkative and genuinely happy and at peace. Dude was always chilled AF and a really cool guy with wicked talents. It'd be HUGE to have someone of his calibre on YT and maybe even make some cash from it. Guy is a legend.
Any company that is willing to work with Kingpin in the way he wants speaks volumes. If that is PNY or any other vendor who will do it his way, that's action we appreciate! Glad to see KP again and I look forward to whatever comes next!
@@aliensounddigital8729 PNY has always been a imo since I worked at Best Buy back in the early 2000s one of the better manufactures. I own an 8 year old SSD and an older micro sd card for my tablet from them. Both have been going strong.
My 4090 and my 3090 are both PNY. Zero issues. Literally none. My brother's 4070 died. Four days later and with some very nice reps at PNY, they organised a swap. When they received confirmation from the European partners about receiving the card, they sent the new one via insured mail and refunded the shipping. Not only that, received a £30 voucher for Scan. (We're in the UK). We were speechless at how good the experience was. No one tried pulling a fast one. It was "this is not right let us do the right thing". The 4070 has been solid. Zero issues.
@@aliensounddigital8729 If Kingpin is willing to put his name on it it's going to be expensive but absolutely solid. The dude has never had a dud. Whether it's the best overclocking card on the planet is for reviews to decide, but whether it is a solid card that runs right, even if you lean on it, can be taken on faith (until his first blunder).
My Dad and I build computers as a hobby, we try to one up each other with each new build. I still remember when he bought a KINGPIN card and won that generation of builds. Strong brand recognition for me personally.
I love the way they both spend the whole video fanboying over eachother, it's amazing to see just how must respect they hold for eachother and view eachother as the absolute legends they are
*KINGPIN* is like the George Foreman of the GPU world. He is the full embodiment of George Forman's catchphrase - *_"I'm so proud of it, I put my name on it!"_*
I have a PNY 4080 Super. I flashed its BIOS to unlock the power limit, and it performs like a champ. I'm happy with my purchase. It was the only card available at MSRP.
I was able to trade in my 2060 for the 3070 FTW3 and only pay the difference in msrp price with their trade-up program during the peak of the gpu shortage in early 2021. EVGA was the best gpu manufacturer and I’ll never get rid of that card!
Good Luck to King Pin. There's always a need for more innovation and pushing tech to it's limits. Even though I personally can't afford it now, I always figure it trickles down to consumer level products.
hell yea, great to see Kingpin back at it playing with graphics cards again. As for PNY, I cant comment, I've never used one, was always EVGA until the 40 series.
Wow, Kingpin is Back!!!! PNY? why not... I'm glad that he is back and look forward to seeing any of his new cards. I miss EVGA too, but still have my EVGA 3090 FTW3 running smooth.
We don't like the CEO behind EVGA. He's apparently well known to abuse employees, scream at them constantly, sometimes even pouring hot tea on their laps. We love EVGA quality and their respect for the customers.
Great move by PNY if this collaboration happens. Although many of us won't buy the very best version of a graphics card, we like to see how far in limits a manufacturer can take a card. Knowing that PNY is pushing the highest limits has a trickle effect on the lower models for us fans.
Great t osee Kingpin coming back...He is such a cool dude!. This will help PNY reputation and ppl will start bying their cards more. Thanks GN for this great interview/visit to Kingpin lab!
PNY is such an amazing and underrated company, can’t wait to see Kingpin take them to the top. Not excited to see those PNY GPU prices go up when they start getting famous cause they are hidden gems but I’m just hyped to see kingpin back!
Man, ive never had much interest about PNY personally but after seeing this video and seeing how passionate mr.kingping is with his craft, i'm very interested to see his new rtx 50 series cards, especially a rtx 5090 pny kingping max OC. Hopefully he can get it done. You can tell this is his passion man and there is nothing more refreshing knowing that if I buy a pny kingping card in the future, im supporting this dude and his vision on enthusiast level gpus All the best kingping, you have my support.
AWESOME video and glad to see Kingpin back!!! Looking forward to seeing what he can bring to PNY as I can honestly say I've never owned anything great from that company. Can't wait!! Stay well and thanks for sharing GN!
Love the kingpin brand, the idea and concept of understanding one’s equipment fully to maximize performance is a personal goal. I’ve never owned kingpin cards or boards but someday I hope to.
PNY is slept on, they're the only cards I've run besides EVGA for years! I believe they(PNY)exclusively build the Quadros? I'm no expert, just an enthusiast who builds, and could be wrong.
they were the only AIB that are given licensed by nvidia to make Quadro. something to do with they were the only one end up passing the qualification/certification test by nvidia to make their professional grade card.
My first gpu was pny and actually scored 1ste in timespy in the world with it and it was amazingly solid, can't wait to see more and what Kingpin does with it, all the best
I'm still in love with RoboClocker. Would love to get my head around some of the math to get a better idea of how much LN2 is needed based on different temp targets, then hopefully build my own version.
@@GamersNexus Agreed! It got me interested in cooling and ever since I've been slowly exploring thermal dynamics. At this point my goal is enough of an understanding to know what it would take to run at warmer temps for longer periods of time, that a LN2 generator could keep up with. Then pair that with the Elmor Labs design from Computex 2019 to make it easier to manage condensation.
This makes me so happy to see Kingpin back in action with a new card possibly on the horizon. I have 2 grand burning a hole in my pocket to buy the first one he releases. Heck I would love to buy one of the ones on his test bench that he's worked on to just to get an autographed one!
Happy to see Vince. I got burnt out during the 30 series building through the GPU shortage times. For years I built 2 full gaming rigs of each gen always having a Intel, Nvidia rig and full AMD system. Loved my collection of GPUs still sitting on a lot of sealed 30 series and 6000's and older gpus everything that was hard to buy at retail so I made it my mission to get them at MSRP. Loved collecting the Kingpin gpus sealed as i have all of them. But I finally got burnt out on my last build 12th gen intel with my last EVGA purchased 3090 ti FTW3. I have never sold or parted with any of my components and built pcs and it just became to much. Now I'm trying to get on a more standard life cycle waiting a few generations to get back in hard but the next Kingpin product no matter the manufacturer will be my next build.
It'd be awesome to see someone really start to push the limits of graphics cards in the space again. A lot of the stuff that happens in the overclocking field seems to trickles down into the more daily user categories and brings a lot of awesome features to more consumers. I'd be excited to see the PNY collab push the envelope.
This is awesome news, PNY was the brand I was looking at for a 40 series before I went with a 7900XT, I was lost with what to buy after always having an EVGA card.
I have an EVGA XC3 Hybrid RTX 3080 12Gb, what I really wanted was the EVGA Kingpin RTX 3090 but it never came back in stock, but still later recognized that it was a minor mistake not going with the FTW3 3080 12gb at least, still happy with my purchase, hopefully Kingpin will get what he want so he can do what want 🙌
honeslty stoked he went with pny. my past couple of cards were pny and they lasted forever without issues, and had some serious oc headroom. my last card was an evga 3090 in a prebuilt (cause it was during the bad times), and it failed with in like a week, but they also got it sorted no questions asked in a week, and sent me a brand new in box card, which won me over. so i was going to be going back to pny on the next one, and now theres a reason to be excited about it.
Really appreciate this GN! - THE legendary Kingpin! - awesome to see how he's moving ahead altogether though, hope for the best with the potentials with PNY and look forward to more of his creativity! btw out of all the great aspects of his talents - the claw machine! - cool! even if I had one I would definitely set voltage to challenge myself or anyone else just to get kicks out of the frustrations...lol
Kingpin, if you read this, I always had my eye on PNY for over a decade because I am a fan of their commitment to blower style shrouds. Regardless of whether you stray from that aesthetic of theirs, I will purchase my first Kingpin card if your work with them does pan out. As a price conscious mofo I never quite committed to any cards over stock but I'd be willing to make the jump on your future endeavors. Best of luck.
I am down for a new Kingpin card, I wasn't able to enjoy EVGA so this is exciting. I also don't have many opinions on PNY but seeing Kingpin thinking about working with them is all I need to know about their cards. Kingpin seems so down to earth would be so cool to work there! Can't wait to see whats in store.
I'm not an Overclocker but I feel like it would be an interesting option to have "Overclocker ready" cards that arrive without ANY coolers, so it's easier to install an alternate cooling method. I could also be entirely wrong, but at least the idea is out there for others to discuss.
It's great to see KINGPIN jumping back into and I'm looking forward to what comes from it. I was never fortunate to be able to own a KINGPIN card from EVGA but they were my main brand since I was a young kid back in 2005 up until they dropped cards. I only strayed once I couldn't get one and I went with an ASUS and overspent and got less than I was expecting. I've never ventured PNY due to EVGA having the best performing products, the best quality, the best teams. I hope to see an budget AIO 5070/5080 and a KINGPIN AIO 5080. +1 for KINGPIN and I hope PNY and KINGPIN can drive similar integrity as what EVGA and KINGPIN had previously.
Thanks for such a great interview and video with Kingpin! I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with PNY. My last GPU was an EVGA 3080. So hoping that my next will be a Kingpin PNY 5090
I've been using PNY products for years now. A 4080OC processed this video. Sata and flash drives. A couple other things. Love the brand. Would love to get my hands on that aforementioned bios. Def looking forward to what Kingpin and PNY may do. Kill it man!!
If KP is involved and has final say like he wants, we're in for a real treat. I've bought every top-end card he's made since the beginning. Good luck, KP!
I am a big fan of the Kingpin brand and would love to see all new Kingpin GPU! My mast gpu is an EVGA 3090 and I am feeling their loss. But if a new Kingpin option would become available, I would be very happy consider upgrading from EVGA
Personally I love PNY Technologies they are the reason why I was able to get some of the video cards I could afford when I was a kid and didn't have very much money getting into computers for the first time in the early 2000s. So I think it's awesome that he's working with them I feel like a Kingpin is going to bring them a lot of new business
One thing I hope for with this marriage of PNY and Kingpin is videocards that aren't priced around the 2500 dollar mark. I think all of us who bought 4090's are still recovering from that massive financial hit.
Glad to see KINGPIN will be partnering with PNY! There is definitely a lot of potential for new GPU SKUs...I would love to see him work on some customized versions of products lower on the product stack with air cooling though. For starters...(just an idea) maybe a custom 4080 super with unlocked power TDP to 450w with more bandwidth - 320-bit bus (instead of 256 bit currently)...faster clock binned memory and GPU die...fully populated VRM configuration and custom separated vapor chambers for direct contact on both memory and GPU die. And for good measure... Let's Call it 'The Kingpin's 4080 Tie' lol 👍There is still plenty of room between the 4080 super and the 4090 both in price and performance...who better to fill it than KINGPIN!
I have the white mini tech bench Dimastech bench. They are '55 Chevy tough setups. It's one of my favorite benches. The PNY collab could be really good. I have always trusted their products even though they have never been my first choice K1ngP1N\Y would be a cool edition with the black and gold fonts. Great interview. So proud of you both.
Thanks for the interview and the tour of Kingpin's workshop. As the young kids might say these days: "This guy is based AF". In other words, he seems like "a good egg" 👍 - hopefully Kingpin and PNY can come to mutually acceptable terms - we'd like to see the results of that! 🍻
