Steve, any idea how many FPS are added by all those EVGA logos on the fans? I really don't want my system to be logo-bound.

What you get with EVGA is the peace of mind that if you ever do have to RMA, you're guaranteed a great experience. Just yesterday saw a horror story of Gigabyte basically stealing somebody's card and they've been without a graphics card for 6 months now. EVGA means elite customer service. Well worth the premium.

Could you please provide noise levels for the fans? I think for most people the difference in fps doesn't really matter at this point, since it's at most a 2-3% difference.. The noise levels of different AIBs however, are important to a lot of people...

EVGA already confirmed they will give buyers a coloured clip of their choice that they can put over the red lip, if they dislike the red colour. I believe Steve from GamersNexus featured it in a video a while back.

Great review guys, love you covered benches, OC, XOC, cooler etc.. I feel it would have been good to mention the fact in AUS it's MUCH cheaper than the other models like the TUFF.

This design is growing on me. With the RGB off, the logo bar kinda' reminds me of the 7 series. Hopefully they address the red accents with the next run of cards since I'll have my eye on the 3080 Ti to replace my 1080 Ti.

My son just got this on the EVGA queue. MSRP is now US$909 and they charge for shipping to Canada. Still a hell of a deal compared to scalpers. I think its going to be another dry Christmas for many this year.

They are making a running switch to black accents on the ends. They are also going to allow people with red to swap them out. No ETA on it yet.

I love your content. Your benchmarks and reviews are very accurate and full of sense. The only 3080 that may be better in my opinion is the Asus ROG Strix Gaming OC. With 450w also. I managed to get one and the 2100MHz are reachable at core and 22.000 at the memory. Absolutely awesome. I’m making a full review and I’ll see where it gets, but in many cases it performs better than a 3090 for less than it’s half price. To me is worth paying 150€ more if I can get better temperatures, better noise and better performance with a nice RGB 😂. Greetings from Barcelona!

As much I was excited about this launch but I'm kind of sick of it now since there is no availability for the 3000 series. It might be a team red build this time around.

Are there any plans to review the aorus master or extreme AIBs?

For those using this card out there. I highly recommend you to undervolt the card. Compared to other AIB models this come with an overvolted stock V-F curve. Thus consumes a lot more power. Because of this clock speeds are not stable jumping up and down due to hitting either power limit or voltage limit or both. Also evga forums filled with complaints regarding of an elusive but not very uncommon "red light of doom" issues. I suspect that this also related with more than usual power consumption and higher than normal stock voltage.

I’ve tried over clocking mine too 2050 mhz but it’s crashes after a minute of benchmark/stress test. Since then I’ve only been able to get it to 2000mhz roughly. Is there something different I need to do in order to get 2100 oc or did I just not get lucky in silicon lottery?

why no non normslized noise? Just out of the box how loud are they?

No mention of the 4pin fan header on this card? AFAIK it can be linked to the GPU load so you can have a front intake fan in sync with the card.

Its interesting you mention these are expensive overseas, in Australia (as I'm sure you are aware) EVGA's cards are by far the cheapest 3080's we can get. They are the closest to MSRP of any AIB partner, with the next closest to MSRP being the Zotac Gaming and MSI Ventus cards which are both $120AUD more than the FTW3 Ultra.

I’m surprised the 3080 Ftw3 doesn’t have the micro thin heat pipes on the backplate like the 3090 ftw3. It would help along with thermal pads.

The main reasons to get this are if you requested a notification on EVGA's site within the first few hours (they have a queue system), their warranty and customer support, if you plan on watercooling, and of course the fact that you can get 5% off on their store with an affiliate code (which brings this down to $770 USD and their cheapest model down below MSRP).

do you have the 450w RTX3080 bios for non LHR? i have downloaded the XOC bios and flash it but it Stay at 400w no matter wat. maybe newer bios is Locked?

Hey Steve!! I know you said this will be your last 3080 review. But since Jacob was kind enough to set you up with a review sample of the FTW3, it might be nice to also ask him if he wants to send you guys some of the new Hybrid watercooling conversion kits for it. They will be coming out later on, in a couple of months time (or whenever it is). I believe this is worth covering, because the FTW3 has louder fans and consumes a lot more power than the competition. This then makes it a very good candidate for wanting to watercool it. From a noise perspective. There will be multiple different water cooling conversion kits coming along. Both AIO and custom waterblock. I hope you can see the reasoning for my requesting this? Such conversion kits are possible because EVGA has a better warranty / RMA service whereby they allow consumers to fiddle with the cards. And communicate more clearly about what is OK to do on them. Hope this helps! It is a significant reason why people still do choose to buy cards from EVGA (despite those inferior louder EVGA fans on them and the higher product cost)... is because they genuinely do seem to offer a better warranty service. Specifically if you happen to live in USA or Germany, in those same countries where EVGA has an RMA service center. So I hope you are not left out by Jacob living in Australia, that he may still send you review samples for those other associated EVGA products, please ask for them! Because we very much like to see your unbiased and detailed review coverage of them. [EDIT] and hopefully they will not conflict with your other upcoming releases / product reviews. Since they tend to take longer to come out with these hybrid AIO kits / waterblocks. And the also Kingpin edition too. Maybe sometime after Christmas?

the card has two bios, Normal and OC. which bios was the power draw chart using?

At 9:27 you say 436W power consumption, the graph shows "only" 416W - i wonder what is correct.

I like lower temps so Im glad I chosed the Palit 3080 Gamerock... Even at 400w I get no more than 67°.💪

steve,can you help me with this,which 3080 card had pwm fan headers, its a features that not stated very clear even in the product website. afaik strix and FTW card has it,but is there other alternative

From what I keep seeing the Asus Tuf seems to be the best all round card. If I can ever get a RTX 3080 that will probably be the one I try to get.

A 10-16% markup is normal though. Although where I live, I had to pay $1150 for the ftw3 ultra

I only don't like that foam-pads :X I used to clean my gpus and repaste them every year.. and keep 'em for years. So replacing that "foam" with thermal pads would be ok? If so how many mm those pads should be? The tear down shows that foam is like a paste but thinner than the thermal pads at VRMs.

810 was worth the EVGA warranty and build quality, I got 2130 core clock and 10030 memory for the last 3 years and 41-55C on temps. with 30-70% fan, I cant hear it over my headset when gaming so its great.

Ironically back here in Australia, this is cheaper than all the "cheaper" models from all other AIBs

But where are the 2.1 Ghz XOC bechmarks? That would come close to 3090 right?

The funny thing is that its one of the cheaper cards here in Australia. Where the ROG Strix OC is AU$1799 this EVGA card is AU$1259

Noise levels comparison pls. With FPS all being essentially the same, moise and temps are important to differentiate these cards.

My Palit Gamerock OC just sits at 2010 mhz stable in gaming out of the box. Those numbers in video are surprisingly low.
