@ToadstedCroaks
@ToadstedCroaks Год назад
Especially since the NZXT hasn't been rated or updated to work with anything beyond the 2000 series of cards. People have to do too much custom work on them now to maybe make them fit newer cards ... and questionable partner variants. It's pretty shocking that NZXT hasn't bothered making new brackets, and nobody else has bothered to try either.
@ProfileUserNumber
@ProfileUserNumber Год назад
@@ToadstedCroaks if you are going to invest the time and money to custom block your gpu, then obviously you are well informed on pc components and watercooling, why the fuck would you pick a shitty overpriced nzxt asutek aio for that task? The only use case would be to fit the pump in a SFF. Still other better options though. Pre blocked card with an aio, fine makes sense super easy to just buy and install for the average user. But you are going to make a conscious effort to block your card and pick an aio? Really mind blowing choice
@mactep1
@mactep1 Год назад
@@ProfileUserNumber Makes since for a lot of people, where i live water-cooled cards are either out of stock, non-existent or stupidly overpriced and a custom loop is way more expensive, dangerous, and a hassle to install and maintain. The G12 is pretty good, low-maintenance, solution to get a near-silent gpu that runs cooler than stock.
@ProfileUserNumber
@ProfileUserNumber Год назад
@@mactep1 way more expensive? Choosing your own soft tube, compression fittings and rad and pump/res and block, would be an extra 100-200 dollars over buying a gpu aio from nzxt. Pre blocked cards with aios only exist for gpus that are flagship or just under flagship, so we’re talking about 2000 dollar graphics cards, if you are making that purchase based off saving 100 bucks that you really really need, you are unreasonable, you should not be PC watercooling. You can also get pre made soft tube kits from Corsair or EK that would be even cheaper than doing your own. In terms of danger, The only danger comes from installing the block on the gpu and removing the cooler. You still have to do that on an aio, and you take that risk for a shitty result. You get a pump you can’t switch out, or even turn down the speed for. You can’t maintain an aio at all, you can’t refill it easily, you can’t expand your loop or change its position or change the fluid. So not sure how a real loop is harder to maintain it’s actually way easier. You don’t do maintenance in a gpu aio you just throw it out when the shit asutek pump goes or the fluid level drops and it stops cooling properly.

Since each USB 2.0 header provides 2 connections, you can also often re-pin devices like this so that two of them share one plug to make full use of the header. They generally only populate one side of the plug. You can just transfer the pins from another device into the empty row.

$250-$300 list price on the EVGA website though... As a product it's _fine_ . The LCD implementation is good, but that plastic finish is meh. The fans are just no-frills RGB fans. All this would be _fine_ , except that it costs $300. Unless I'm mistaken, this is the most expensive AIO on the market and it's "just another asetek". Like you said, it's okay to be just another asetek, but at $300 the "EVGA part of it" needs to change my world, and honestly, it doesn't. It's just... ok. Corsair is cheaper and looks spectacular. I'm with you on the cable side of things, it's one of the reasons I hate RGB. Different reason though, fewer cables makes for less disruption to airflow, means I can get the fans running slower for the same efficiency so the whole system becomes quieter. Thought on the fan shape - if you 3D print a shroud for the fans you should be able to increase the efficiency and remove the gaps. Could be an interesting experiment to demonstrate what difference it makes. I mean, you could also make one from cardboard to be fair but it wouldn't be as cool :) Rather than a screen on a pump top though I'd really like a data feed off it that I can move to an external display. Then again, I run solid case sides for noise isolation so a screen *inside* doesn't do me much good...

In the digital control of model trains, a single 12V DC power source is used, which is the train track, for several units of locomotives running at different speeds or stopping them. This is achieved by means of simple decoders that receive exclusive signals through the only common line of power. This system could eliminate the problem of cable management and the danger of excessive power consumption on some pins of the motherboard in PC desks.

Nice to see, that EVGA is still doing great out there with new products. I cant wait to see, what EVGA has to offer for the future. In theory they should have more time now, because of no more making graphics cards.

It would be nice if EVGA started shifting towards custom water-cooling, or even better, AIO's for graphics cards. Their liquid cooling on graphics cards are a really nice design.

It was much easier to do on their own graphics cards, but doing a different waterblock or aio for different vendors will take time. Ek already occupies the waterblock market, and they are not as fast as builder would like them to be for releasing new products.

I had a fever dream about a double sided mobo with built in water cooling passages. Two ram slots mounted vertically on the front, two flat mounted slots on the back in a butterfly configuration. The board itself was almost a half inch thick, but imagine the possibilities of essentially having twice as much real estate to work with. Something like that, you might even be able to pull off an ITX sized Threadripper.

Glad to see EVGA has learned from previous fan designs. The fans on their older clc 240 coolers were so god awfully loud. Not a fan of the smoked plastic either its a dust magnet and there so many wires but overall its a step in the right direction and something I'd consider to upgrade my clc240 for.

Jay. Any kind of acrylic, never rub it dry, regardless of the material used! The ONLY way to properly clean acrylic, is with a lightly damp microfiber. Put a dot of dishwashing soap detergent in your cloth (so it dries streak free) and make it a little damp. It's shine, and not scratch. NEVER EVER USE DRY TOWELS, EVEN IF MICROFIBER!!!! I worked in picture framing for 7 years, I'm not talking out of my @$$.

I have the NZXT Kraken Z63. I originally thought the screen on it was going to be a gimmick but being able to see my CPU/GPU temps at a glance has been invaluable. Would be nice if they added a layout to put clock speeds and temps on the same screen like this one has though.

As a Linux user, Fractal Design AIO works way better on GNU/Linux systems cause no software/compatibility for the little penguin, and works perfectly (not mentioning the single connection that makes the installation way faster instead of arguing with 100 argb connectors and cables management aswell, sacrificing RGB lights). As you mentioned, having 10 different softwares only to handle how "fancy" the PC will be, it's too much resources for the system (in my opinion), even if we have a beast under the chassis. Keep going Jay, much love from Italy

I think the air leak has more to do with the step between the radiator fins and housing. I do agree that it's probably more mitigated with a full cage fan as it has a better seal than the rounded fans as those usually have shock pads that raise that single point more allowing more air out.

4:40 Well actually you could! An open source fan/RGB software that accepts proprietary profiles as made by the manufacturers yet still consolidates all these different brands into one single control suite. You can have set profiles that function per brand, or have a singular profile that controls everything. Perhaps also add adaptive profiles that only spin up the most relevent fans for certain hardware (radiator fans for CPU, or a side panel aimed at your GPU) that way not all fans respond to one parts heat increase.

The fans are going to generate back pressure; it isn't really going to hurt performance to have that vent around the fans. It might actually hurt it to block it because that's air bouncing back at the fans from the fin edges which might interfere with airflow
