Evgeni Bozhanov playing the finale of Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 25 in C major, K. 503, live at the winners' concert at the 2008 Sviatoslav Richter Competition. Bozhanov placed second (there was no first prize). Dmitry Liss conducts the Moscow SO.

I never understood this concept of not awarding a first prize. It seems so arrogant on the part of the judges. If no one was ahead of Bozhanov, give the guy the first place prize.

Strange to hear the whole violins' mistake (??surely not!) at 0:25. I'd love to listen to him live. He's got something very special.

He definitely deserves better than second. I have no idea why he alway placed second not first.. is it because he is too special? it is absurd. He got a talent from god but no luck.
