Just fantastic playing, notice how his body moves in a circle at times as if the music is being channeled through him at this early age. The etude is great and he plays it better now in his old age, but the real music he played was in those preludes, not well known and to play them like an old man is really amazing.
What strange opus he picked. I play a few of those preludes and this is what I think I sound like. He really knows what Scriabin is about esp playing these transitional preludes as Scriabin moves away from Chopin. How old is he here, looks 13 or 14? An old soul for sure.
Don't know which month the concert took place but he turned 15 years old that year, absolutely unbelievable playing for that age. But he was a prodigy and already a true artist back then in my opinion, a really special pianist
