I bought a new guitar last year,in my 50's,life is flying by.I've played a 1978 strat for since '86.I bought a Wolfgang special after some going back and forth with some other "brands". I LOVE MY GUITAR, it is like coloring with those big magic markers. The neck is a dream.
Excellent video Marty as always - your other video convinced me to order a Frankie - this just reassures me massively - as I did have some reservations around the ease of using the D tuner.
Great video. I absolutely love mine. Done a few upgrades…71’ Quarter, Replica neck plate, FUTONE 41mm L-shape brass block, trem stopper, painted the neck cavity with Duplicolor paint. Still need to add the blue paint, cig burns, and reflectors. Added a water slide decal of his signature - just need to clear the back to seal it. This is one guitar that I will NEVER sell. It’s my favorite of them all.
What an awesome video special halloween ........I got my Frankie as well and it never dissapoints. ... .I got it like 2 years ago and love it every second of it!!
I have one and love it. Only thing is D tuna is too close to the body so I have to dive the bar a bit to pull it out. Does the quarter give you enough clearance to pull out the D tuna? Love your videos man!
Hey man! Yeh the quarter actually helps! Otherwise you're right about the d tuna. I don't think they're meant for on the spot adjustments during a tune, but it's really close to the body! 😎🤟🏻
Great guitar and playing mate!, what do you think of the new '78 eruption Evh that is due for release soon?, I have the regular striped series in red and its a fantastic guitar, just wish they angled the humbucker on it too 😃
Very cool close up in depth review Marty. I enjoyed watching it. Great tone too! You’re having way too much fun over there, lol! What amp are you using on that one? Love it!
Started a frankenstrat 2years ago with my nephew's abandoned Squire. Painting it was the fun part. Hand routing for the floyd rose/ Whaat? He flush mounted the thing? Aw well, I've already wired it HSS anyway. Ongoing mod project. Painting that design on a digeredo right now.
Indeed, I hear those necks are absolutely fantastic. Have you ever compared it to the Musikraft "Frankie" neck? I'm thinking about ordering one for my partscaster.
Good to know. Yeah, I guess their Franky neck is based somewhat on the one you have on that guitar, and you can pick different options when ordering it. Great playing by the way!
Man I love the look of the neck on that thing I wouldn’t clean it either. Now I’m thinking about knocking the finish my beretta special neck and putting some tung oil on it maybe even try tinting to get the yellowed aged laquer look. I used to prefer a real light maple neck but as I’ve gotten older really think darker yellowed or ambered over looks better.
Yeh they're nice. I know the EBMM VH models were modeled after the 5150 neck digitally. Not sure if the Axis ones are. I doubt the low end MM are but who knows. They're solid guitars though.
If you Gig with it does the audience "expect" Van Halen? I have seen videos of Wolfgang telling audiences they were at a Mammouth show not Van Halen. That is a hard legacy to leave behind. After the Taylor Hawkins shows its obvious he can do it if he wants to. Good enough. Point made, move on to Mammouth 2
You know, they do. I use it in metal cover band project and it works there. We do a lot of VH. But you can't just do standard gigs with it. It's too Eddie. Lol
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker yes, I have a music man from around late 90s. Has piezo pups and rosewood neck. Plays great. HSS. Has a Seymour Duncan humbucker at the bridge, fender gold lace sensor in the middle and a hot rails Seymour Duncan in the neck. I bought it from a guy who worked at my local music store for $400.
I think you should set up a Patreon. Do Guitar pro 7 tabs with your music lessons. Charge 10-15 bucks a month and millions of guys like me would get 3-4 music lessons with GP7 tabs. You could use the same video for youtube and patreon except the Patreon guys would get the Guitar Pro 7 tab. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the videos.
