Out of the all the guitars that are designed for higher gain sounds that I've tried this is the most versatile....it sounds great acoustically which translates to being plugged in which makes it great for rock and blues. But with the super high output pickups and Floyd Rose....it is equipped for shredding!! I can't put mine down! I've been struggling with the D Tuna but I think I've sorted it now. You've probably read the instructions, but I've found by tuning it when dropped to D with the nut undone using the machine head and the fine tuner on the bridge almost undone, then pushing it in to bring it up to E, then adjusting it with the allen key then you'll get it pretty accurate. The one thing that I did notice is the D Tuna bit moves up and down which alters the pitch slightly.....if it's out, if i wiggle it then it usually goes back into tune. As the strings have got older i've had to readjust it...i guess similar to the intonation changing on an older string.

Thank you, appreciate that! I'm not sure of the PA for the gig....it's just a vocal PA, my guitar isn't going through it. I'm playing through a Milkman Pedal Steel mini....and for drive I'm using a Keeley Modified Boss Blues Driver. Hope that helps!

All the MIM ones in the shop I went in were the same. The Indonesian ones were much tighter joints! The Japanese one was perfectly built….but more money, and heavy!

The trem is flat against the body (that's how it comes, same as Eddie set it up) so if I do one string at a time I shouldn't need to block off the trem I don't think. I use Elixirs on everything......but I actually bought some d'addarios for the first time in years to put on it.....mainly because they were a third of the price and I suspect I might end up ruining a few strings on the first few changes! Once I've mastered the Floyd I shall put Elixirs on here the same as all my other guitars!!

Changing strings once a year isn’t a great idea. Elixir strings stay clean and rust free but the tone goes earlier.

That explains the extra weight....I wonder if the ebony on the fingerboard makes a difference....and the big strap hooks!! How heavy is your USA version? I'm really pleased with it....great build quality.

not sure if it floats but it certainly looks likey as it has been routed out.

@@chickenlickin3820 yeah. I don’t know why I think that, but i’m sure we will get some clarification.

The trem is flat against the body so you can only lower the pitch. Same as Eddie had his set up.....the D Tuna doesn't work if it's floating I don't think. Yet to attempt the string change!!
