WOW JUST WOW......I just spit my coffee out when you said "That's probably where the demon lives" Ha! Toooooooo funny.....With just you scanning around I saw things on the wall that were cool....the round mirror (etched?) and velvet painting....Can't wait for the next one!!!!!!!!!
@@PaperandMoose that sounds like the home my daughter and son in law just bought.....the neighbors informed them the previous owner was terrified of germs. so all the windows and doorways had plastic around them. the 2nd story of the home hadn't been used for 20 years since her husband passed and it was boarded off and wrapped in plastic, so was the basement....it took relatives over 4 years (they lived out of state) to make it livable again after owners passing but my daughter loves the story her house has to tell
God bless the people who were evicted. They sure did leave a lot behind. It's a shame that home owners have to deal with this. But it's great that you guys get paid & get to find useful items to keep or sell. This will be interesting to see what you find. Happy New Year, Renee, Taco Stacks, & Tony! ☺🙋♀️
Yes, this is the reality of how some people live. Someone has to come behind them and clean up. This is real life. I've seen some houses like that. I don't judge, but it's not the way I want to live. My favorite part of the video is the bag drop at the end. At least you gave the guys warning of the 'INCOMMING'!
Interesting video but always so sad to see a life which has fallen apart. I noticed a framed American triangulated flag - how sad if they gave part of their life to serve their country and had to leave it behind. Maybe I am wrong assuming it is a veteran's former home. Renee, you are the right person to help with this cleanout.
This reminded me of a time I helped a mother & her about a 25 yr old daughter move out of a two bedroom town house about 25 yrs ago. There was probably 6-8 of us. Took one person 3 days just to clean out one room in the basement. We cleaned out the living room & discovered a piano we didn't know was there. Cleaned out a room on the main floor that we all thought was a closet. Turned out to be a powder room (2 piece bathroom). Some rooms had stuff from floor to ceiling. The mother was a hoarder. And when they moved, same thing. Hoarded at their next place (a huge 100+ yr old 2 story place). Then moved again to a two bedroom apt because the house ended up with mold. Hoarded at that place. After that, moved to another two bedroom townhouse. Hoarded there too. Was very sad to watch the mother & daughter move from place to place over the years, while the mother continued hoarding at each place
Wow. I've cleaned out two hoarder homes before and what you described sounds like about 1,000 times more work than the two hoarder homes I cleaned out! So sad... That is how the hoarder mind works though and is very hard to break the cycle without the proper help.
@@PaperandMoose Agreed. Without proper help from medical professionals, the cycle will keep repeating itself. The original 2 bedroom townhouse literally had stuff piled in some rooms from floor to ceiling. Second house was just as bad if not worse as it was a bigger house. Helped another couple clean out their 3 bedroom apt. It was a hoarding situation as well. Though not quite floor to ceiling. Only piled about 4 ft high in 2 bedrooms and about 2ft high in the rest of the rooms
Hi Renee. WOW! This clean out is going to take a couple of days. That pink t- shirt 👕 look so cool with the heart 💗 on it. I hope you kept that one. But oh my Lord, this place is going to look better after it is all done. God Bless you Renee and your two wonderful friend's. Stay safe. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗💃💃💃💃💃💃💃😘😘😘😘😘👕👕💗💗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💗💗💗💗💗❤️❤️❤️💗
I think that this place would probably need to be completely gutted if they are going to have it as a rental again. Between the bathrooms & electrical issues alone, I don’t think it will be cheap to renovate!
I would really love'd to see this place when your finished. And maybe the owner will let you take pictures after reno is all done. Seems like a really nice place if reno
Nope, not for a million dollars. Well maybe for a million, but I would definitely have to think about it. I did notice some things from 1967. The buffet and a coffee table and matching end table. All from Sears lol. Poor ol Taco is in the dark. Tony is having fun as usual.
Nice impressions of an eviction home cleanout. Not a hoarders place, but it doesn´t look very clean or well maintained. So it might be helpful to wear a mask inside, Renée ! Don´t mind the quality of this video, you did a great job as an Art Director. 👍Stay warm and healthy during this job ! 🤔 Greets from GER, U.
Thankfully the weather has been pretty nice, so I don’t have to wear my heated vest, yet! As long as we don’t get snow, this should go pretty smoothly!
This is going to be a good one..!! The 3 of you can tackle anything...Tony cracks me up...reminds me of myself..always a lighter side...he's a sweetheart...always good to see Taco...🥰🥰
I love this kind of video. Sorry about your camera crew and lighting crew. Some people are so unreliable. You three make a good team. This job will keep you busy for a while. Film on!
What a sad house. But the hunt is on for great things. 🙏🏻🤞🏼. Lighting wasn’t that bad, I have no problem watching whatever you post. Your excitement and personality is why we come back! 😊. ~ Texas
Renee, It's so good to see your channel growing, I remember when you started and now your brave commitment to being your own boss is paying off, 60K plus!!!. You and Tim are working together...what a team:) Happy New Year!!!, Rik
Fried bologna is better than the plain cold cut from the fridge. I have not had it in years but occasionally I am tempted to buy some for the nostalgia.
It is just too depressing to think about people actually living in this place. The owner of this property should be ashamed of charging any kind of rent for such a dump.
I bought high end vintage clothing at an auction and the lady had a fireplace. All of the clothes smelled like smoke and what was boxed was wrinkled. I used woolite on everything and woolite spot remover. The woolite made everything smell great, took out wrinkles, and cleaned the dingy items. I even did sweaters. I used a hotter dryer then what was on the instructions. I also use the beads Armour hammer clean scentsations in the wash. It takes wet or damp smells out. It makes the laundry smell good instead of dryer sheets or fabric softener. Old southern ladies swear by using lemon juice on linen or age spots and lay the item on the green grass in the sun to dry. It does work. I was married in 1983 and we had a bedroom set somewhat like the one in the house. That house was like a time Capsule. I think people who lived through the depression were afraid to throw anything away. My mom and grandma saved all the ribbon and paper. My 89 year old mother- in- law has a lock of her baby hair. I just went through 22 shoe boxes of rubber stamps my mom had and books from her childhood.
Holy mackerel, what an amazing hoard. If that sweater is cotton, you can soak it in Oxy wash to get the stains out, same with the Tshirts. Then just wash as a normal load. I’ve had really good luck using it.
@@judymcfadden3577 the types of items she's filming doesn't look like 'college kids' lived there. It could also have been someone that couldn't pay their mortgage - for a multitude of reasons.
Been there done that. My parents owned rental houses and so often even just regular move out would result in lots of stuff left behind. Unfortunately I don’t remember anything valuable ever being left.
You can get those clothes cleaned up with baking soda and vinegar. Especially if they're stained use a little non Clorox bleach. I've had a lot of luck with that especially buying thrift store clothes and reselling them.
@Tina Breon Do you put the baking soda and vinegar in the wash machine with the non Clorox bleach, mix together and throw same colors into the wash machine? Do you only do solid color clothes or let's say some with a label on with many colors on the item? My problem with buying from thrift stores is getting that horrible female perfume that seems like the clothes were washed in it. I stopped buying the clothes I liked that had that smell!!! Any tips would be appreciated!!! Happy New Year!!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
You can also use Borax as detergent and vinegar in the softener section to wash stains from clothes. Just use the long hot cycle. Not sure about delicate clothing... You might have to soak it for a bit before going into the washer.
I love to see the differences in Tacos and your videos when you’re at the same place. We get the Man and Woman’s perspective. Looking forward to the next “episode” from you both!
Renee!!! Thanks for taking us along !!! These clean outs are a real different pace then a pick or anything else you are doing. I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Hey Renee, I saw Taco Stack's video first and your video is just as exciting as his. For me the "special finds" do not make a video more exciting. Just to see what people left behind, make an exciting video. So I hope you will make more of this kind of videos, because they are always exciting.
My husband used to do this. It's incredible what he found, though little was of any value. The most troubling was pets left behind. People assume the bank comes in the next day, but actually a lot has to happen legally before they can enter, so pets met a terrible, terrible end.
I was so Happy to See you put a Mask on before poking and prying. I have watched many video's of people going through similar type houses with No masks and you can see the Dust and Crap floating through the air via their camera. Only halfway through, thanks for Sharing.
Great first view and some cool shirts (and the sweaters) right off the bat. I think there's more great stuff. I saw a POW-MIA plaque and a memorial flag. Maybe the scrapbook is military? Where did we get boxes before Chewy? (The liquor store). Love Tony's '70s references - Godfather here, Odd-Couple in a previous one. His impression of George's mother isn't bad either. Good luck - looking forward to the next videos. Have a great Day!
I’ll tell him he did a good impersonation! Can always count on him for one good Seinfeld reference. I found one military item (in a future video), but I think that’s about it, besides the POW plaque. Wonder if Chewy knows how much their boxes are re-used? Haha
My suggestion though is when your going to work in one room with windows, take the curtains down to bring more light into the room so you can see. Its awesome that you are recycling the good clothes. Most older clothes are better made than wht we have now. Good job, keep the videos coming, LOVE THEM!!🌻🌼🏵🌷🌹
These houses look like a really big job - but it also looks like you will find some cool stuff. I was so happy you found some 80's clothes as I know you think they are cool.
I enjoy these videos. You can just work away and I’ll watch. I like to think about the people, for example this house looks like someone cared once but for years someone lived there and didn’t take care of the place. People are all different.
We'll work, you watch - sounds like a good plan! I think that perhaps a family lived here, grown children stayed to continue to live in the home (why the 80s/90s stuff), and like you said, just let it go.
I worked for auctioneers for over 30 years. This place is a filthy dump but nowhere near some of the places I've done. We once cleaned out a late 1950s house. Owned by a large single female. She was Definately a horder. Hidden in the middle of the living room unseen was a verticle two stage twin cylinder new air compressor. The funny part. In the sub basement there was an upright freezer still running. I could not get the door open so I unplugged it. Next day it was still mostly frozen but after a bit I managed to get it open. Still full of frozen food. What kept the door from opening was a chicken. Half in freezer half in door. The entire freezer was full of ice. It wasn't the worst #!!!
I see a lot of ‘70’s stuff as well! The best cleaner I’ve found for knits and very delicate cloth items is named “Soak” . It’s available on Amazon and Walmart . You do just what the name suggests, it comes in concentrated liquid and there’s also a single use powder, the liquid is more cost effective. You mix it up and just put the items in let it soak for an hour or so then remove the item roll it in a towel to get out excess water then hang or flat dry. No scrubbing or rinsing necessary ‼️It also has instructions for stain removal. It’s the best method for cleaning scarves and beanies as well and it prevents pilling on crochet and knit items. 🧶
Ooo-eee what a job ! I just can't understand why the people who have been evicted didn't have time to take some stuff but clearly hoarders . I'm expecting you to find exciting things in this clear out ! I have so much admiration for you and I'm looking forward to each new vlog. Take care and be safe. Jan 👵Somerset 🇬🇧 The mice have good taste unfortunately! By the way American Pickers started like you -Mike did his own filming and look at them now - a TV show for Renee&co!?!
As soon as I seen you start to bring that sweater out of that closet I said that looks like her and sure enough of you said that is mine I could tell right away that it was one that you were going to keep
I knew a woman that had a business handling evictions for apartments and townhouses over in Baltimore She had to go with the sheriffs to put them out and the stuff on The curb. She said things got exciting sometimes After so many days the city would pick the stuff up and take it She didn’t really keep anything
I don't know much of the backstory, besides being told that this eviction took a decent amount of time & had its' own share of problems. I don't think anyone wants the stained mattress and 1980s heavy furniture, that's for sure!
Happy New Year Renee. I hope this year brings you much personal happiness and success. I remember when you first started. I'm very proud of you. God Bless, John Cordisco
Evictions here in Florida require you bag all small items and set everything out to the road. You can't take anything and it has to sit there for 24 hours. Then you have to call the city waste management. I'm shocked you're able to keep items Renee'. Glad for you though!
Renee, I've never been successful in getting mouse pee out of anything, especially clothes. I've tried everything with zero success & that includes the smell. It's too bad mice ruin the best things, but they don't get everything! There will be plenty for you 💐
I think the clothes that I took that were hanging up are safe, hopefully! The 80s kids clothes might have to be tossed because they have the mouse urinate 😞
I'm glad that Mrs Costanza was finally able to palm off all of those baloney sandwiches that she'd made for the gang. I'll bet Tony got his from Kramer, after he brought 'em all back to Manhattan. There is a channel, here on RU-vid (somewhere) where the guy has each video devoted to opening an old can of food and tasting it! The cans, when I saw a few videos, were over 50 years old! I guess the channel is still active - unless the guy got a bad can. Anyhow - thank you for the great video. So cool that you and Taco were there and each made a video. It was incredible ... just like watching a one-hour video with two separate hunts for 'treasure'.
If it's the channel that I'm thinking of, then yes, he still is eating old food! I've watched it a few times and what is interesting is when the food actually doesn't taste bad at all.
@@PaperandMoose Yes, thank you - that's definitely the one. Other than the food maybe losing a bit of texture, it sure was OK to eat. Funny, I always have lots of canned/jarred food, stocked up just in case there's a blizzard or something. If I see a can that's a month or so after it's 'sell by' date, I have to think, like maybe ten times, whether it's "safe" or not to eat! Thanks again.
Hi Renee It’s so good to see you. I haven’t seen any of your videos for awhile By the way, try soaking clothes in baking soda to get the smell out and it cleaners most soil items. The other cleaning supplies are products by Totally Awesome which you can get at the Dollar Tree. Try them
I wanted to mention to you to check the curtain that is pulled back onto the pine paneling when you were cleaning the first closet. If it is made of net fabric, not the cheap curtains of the 80’s, it could be worth quite a bit. Judging from the other items found so far, I don’t think it’s valuable but you never know. I also very late in watching you clean out this house.
Rene, what have you found as a way to store all your find before they sell? You use to say you had no room for stuff at your home. Have you rented a space somewhere?
For this job, items for the flea market are boxed up & taken to the market (Tony is selling there 3 times a week to move out the inventory from this job). I have room to store smaller items, not things like furniture & large things.
Looks like another big job ahead of you. That box with the 80s clothes was a fun find. Fingers crossed you are able to salvage a few of them. I love those western style shirts as well. I found a pink one last year that someone had painted the coolest mermaid on the back. Excited to see what you find next ☺️
What a mess! I’ve cleaned out some horrible houses in my life but this one is right up there with the really bad ones. You are brave and hard workers. I hope you find some good treasures.
I'm just curious what Landlord they had because these are deplorable living conditions. This is not up to code... I feel so bad for the people who got evicted, that landlord should be sued
If you play Jumanji in that house , all those doors open , lol . I've done a few evitionn houses before, mainly taken all to the dump but a few pieces we would keep. I can see some awesome finds there for u
Seeing the homes, it's probably a favor to evict the tenants. This is not property that landlords did a fine job of keeping nice. Sometimes, people become what they are surrounded with... in this case, a property not looked after. There's still a lot of nice stuff in those two apartments/duplex. I don't see anyone well off renting a place like that. The box in the closet... I guessed dolls before you opened it. We collect dolls and that was definitely a doll box.
If the landlord thinks it's going to be a "quick flip" to re-rent, surprise! So many code violations, not to mention the obvious renovations that would need to occur in each & every room. It honestly needs to be a complete gut.
