My best guess is that each Temple was sort of a school in itself so when a woman was pregnant she went to the temple to learn about what happened within her body so she would not be afraid of what is going on and the last statue of the womb being shown with the pit on top is to allow water to be poured over the entire statue to show the woman the beginning of birth when the water breaks and the child is ready to come into. I feel like this entire Temple is knowledge for a woman who is going with child and through childbirth, she is comforted by the temple teachings and the knowledge of creation she had gained about her inner self and workings. Heart-felt gratitude to Mr. Praveen for shedding light on so many unknown stuffs about the ancient medical practices. I'm really astonished as to know how advanced they were back then. It's really mind boggling.... Well it's also said in ancient texts that the Indians knew pretty well about complex surgeries and also they performed them on humans. Actually when you look into Hindu scriptures, you will be amazed by the amount of knowledge and wisdom they had. Many of them are still very much surviving till today. You can find almost all the things be it Metaphysics, marvelous scientific explantations like speed of light( etc.), infinite universes, time dilation, Yoga, Ayurveda, Staunch devotion for supreme personality of Godhead "Lord Krishna", deep wisdpms, architecture, musical and dancing arts, spherical earth, Vimanas (So called UFO's), unchanging, everlasting nature of self, Purpose of life, duties of kings and citizens, economic ideas and constitution and what not. It's a shame that western scholars because of their inherent biasness and Indian people because of their inferiority complex in British era didn't acknowledge the tons of wisdom still hiding inside the deep ocean of "Sanatan Dharma (ie Eternal religion)" or so called "Hinduism". If you want to check you can start with "Gita" a guidebook of life told by Supreme God( Unchanging reality, timeless, omnipotent, omnipresent, our only shelter and beloved). The charanas are divided as follows: The Four Yugas 4 charanas (1,728,000 solar years) Satya Yuga 3 charanas(1,296,000 solar years) Treta Yuga 2 charanas(864,000 solar years) Dwapara Yuga 1 charanas(432,000 solar years) Kali Yuga The cycle repeats itself so altogether there are 1000 cycles of yugas in one day of Brahma. One cycle of the above four yugas is one mahayuga (4.32 billion solar years) A manvantara consists of 71 mahayugas (306,720,000 solar years). Each Manvantara is ruled by a Manu. After each manvantara follows one Sandhi Kala of the same duration as a Krita Yuga (1,728,000 = 4 Charana). (It is said that during a Sandhi Kala, the entire earth is submerged in water.) A kalpa consists of a period of 1,728,000 solar years called Adi Sandhi, followed by 14 manvantaras and Sandhi Kalas. A day of Brahma equals (14 times 71 mahayugas) + (15 x 4 Charanas) = 994 mahayugas + (60 Charanas) = 994 mahayugas + (6 x 10) Charanas = 994 mahayugas + 6 mahayugas = 1000 mahayugas as is confirmed by the Gita statement "sahasra-yuga paryantam ahar-yad brahmano viduH", meaning, a day of brahma is of 1000 (maha-)yugas. Thus a day of Brahma, kalpa, is of duration: 4.32 billion solar years. Two kalpas constitute a day and night of Brahma 30 days of Brahma = 1 month of Brahma (259,200,000,000 human years) 12 months of Brahma = 1 year of Brahma (3,110,400,000,000 human years) 25 years of Brahma = 1 kalpa (77,760,000,000,000 human years) 2 kalpas = 1 parardha (155,520,000,000,000 human years) 2 parardhas = 100 years of Brahma, the lifespan of Brahma (311,040,000,000,000 human years) The Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III explains the above as follows: 360 days of the gods = 1 year of the gods 12,000 years of the gods = 4 Yugas 1,000 sets of 4 Yugas = a day of Brahmá 50 years of Brahma = 1 Pararddham 100 years of Brahma = 1 Param 4,000 + 400 + 400 = 4,800 years = 1 Krita Yuga 3,000 + 300 + 300 = 3,600 years = 1 Tretá Yuga 2,000 + 200 + 200 = 2,400 years = 1 Dwápara Yuga 1,000 + 100 + 100 = 1,200 years = 1 Kali Yuga Alternately, the reigns of 7 Rishis, Indra and Manu = 1 Manwantara = 71x12,000+A (A is not given) = 852,000 years of the gods+A (A is not given) 14 Manwantaras = a day of Brahmá VEDIC TIME UNITS GREATER THAN A KALPA Ancient vedic cosmology takes into account handful of time spans which are even greater than one Kalpa or a day of Brahma. One such unit is a "Maha-Kalpa" which is composed of 36000 such days of Brahma. One Maha-Kalpa is considered as the lifetime of Brahma. There are time units which are larger than one Maha-Kalpa. The largest of them has been calculated as several quadrillions of human years. This precise and massive calculations indicate one important aspect of vedic time system, that, whenever the term "Infinity" has been mentioned in Vedas, it does not indicate something very large. Instead, it appears that the term is meant to refer its literal synonym itself.

I have never understood why these scriptures were rejected out of hand as myths in the West instead of seriously looking into them as did Oppenheimer and ohters. These beautiful stories felt to me that they were true renderings of the truth.

Everybody knows liziqi from china. Her youtube channel shows traditional village life of china and recently she recieved an award from chinese government and got recognition for her work. My point is why Indian government is not seeing his work, which is very nice, logical and detailed. He should be the cultural ambassador of india because his work showcases ancient Indian culture. His work deserves to be recognized by Indian government.

when i watch your videos, i have two prominent feelings running through my body. one is immense excitement and curiosity and the second one is immense pain, anger and helplessness that our ancestors are defamed, thought of as backward and poor. I want our government to invest in this so that we get back all the knowledge our ancestors had and give them utmost respect for it instead of treating them like they were backward. "Engineering new generation minds to be pro-nationalists" .. this may only make a minor change in society but it will definitely give us the satisfaction of atleast trying. Instead what I feel is, we should come up with a society/organization which conducts research and excavation drives throughout the country and start proving all our hindu rituals, practices and history right with scientific evidences. Later, the committee should pressurise the government to implement all these in our school history, science and math books and teach children about the real deal. How about this idea ???

The earliest temple building is said to be near Aihole and Pattudaikkal near Hampi- Badami. I visited a secluded ancient remains of a temple of maybe the deity was called 'Lajjadevi'. The cravings and details gave an idea of treatment related to menustration and treatment and training for puberty. It was very impressive.. The guide said the temple was 6th century AD.
