I Spit on Your Grave, (1978) I Spit on Your Grave Deja Vu, (2019) I Spit on Your Grave, (2010) I Spit on Your Grave 2, (2013) I Spit on Your Grave 3, (2015)
Alyssa Sutherland's performance is one of my favorites in any horror movie. She carries the film, embodies her character so well, and is actually pretty terrifying as a deadite.
She's excellent but I liked everyone in this film. I thought the characters were well written and well cast. I usually don't care about most characters in a horror but I cared about them in this.
Candy Man, Pumpkin head, hell raiser, Halloween, Hills have eyes, Wrong Turn and yet much more to go and see. Fun fact: The Hills have Eyes and The Wrong Turn Franchises are both "inspired or roughly based on" the legendary cannibal Swaney Bean.
I tried to watch Wrong Turn again after ages since I watched it (I was maybe in High School when I first saw it) I failed. I couldn’t make it halfway. I forgot how disgusting it was 😂
There are 3 books (each looks different) which is why the demon in 2013 and in rise are different, and also explains why the burial and burning worked for the demon in the 2013 movie but basically couldn’t work with this demon, different rules.
This is true, but I think that all 3 books are also volumes or chapters taken from the original which is called Naturom Demonto. All are fiction of course created by Lovecraft and then extended upon by lovecraftian style authors...
Bruce Campbell has a voice cameo on the recording disc that Danny listens to, letting the other priests know that the book must be destroyed, indicating that Ash Williams, this was confirmed by Campbell and Sam Raimi, that he went back in time to stop the Deadites from destroying thw world, and that the film takes place after the EVIL DEAD TV series.
I got to ask Bruce at an event whether or not it was a time traveling Ash who is in the recording and he said that he believes it was just a priest, but that Lee Cronin (director) "likes to say a bunch of shit", so who knows, it could be canonized at some point!
This was a movie that filled me with such a tangible sense of helplessness. It was so well executed in basically every way. When the recording explains that the evil cannot be defeated in any way and all you can do is run, I just felt my heart sink.
The thing that I love about the franchise is that the core 3 have always been involved. Raimi, Campbell, and Tapert. And it's why they have consistently been solid. What I hope they keep doing, and What it seems like they are doing is using the Evil Dead Frame work, to make low budget horror featuring great up and coming directors. I honestly would never care if they connected any of these story's to the OG timeline, or each other ... Just keep giving me cool new directors under the mentorship of these three within the confines of the "Evil Dead" style. I can watch these till I die.
I love this approach to franchising. Rather than just trying to recreate the magic of the series most beloved entry(Evil Dead 2), this just invites young upcoming filmmakers to play in the Evil Dead toy box and make their own thing
Texas Chainsaw Massacre has nine entries, would be good for future videos. Part 3 and 4 can be easily skipped though. But the obvious next franchise would be Halloween. But be warned it's been rebooted so many ways there are 5-10 timelines. Definitely look up a map of them all before watching to help keep them straight.
I've never wanted to stop watching a movie more than this one. Midway through, I felt hopeless and beaten down in a way I hadn't experienced with a film before. Yet, somehow, this one ended up being my favorite in the entire franchise! Happy Halloween Shejects!!
This is the reason I think the book from the first three is one Necronomicon, the 2013(?) is the second, and Rise has the third. They each have different transmission, different ways to kill deadites and they look completely different.
Now you guys need to start watching Ash Vs Evil Dead the Series. As for movies, Creepshow, Return of the Living Dead, the first three Hellraiser movies and Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy.
After what happened with the Chucky series I wouldn't get my hopes up. The videos weren't getting enough views and ended up having to be ended after the first season. Fans of the series had a massive backlash against it. They may not do another horror series after that.
@@SundayMorning91 Ash vs Evil Dead is cut from different cloth. I'll bet people would love it. Few YT channels which has react to the show, didn't complain about the views, and they are way behind Reel Rejects as it comes for subscriptions. Especially that Evil Dead fans love this show.
Goddammmit, i just watched the Substance i want to vomit but I caaaaant, now I have to watch another body horror film I'm sure my brain is already scrambled .
i think this is one of those rare occurrences where a strong female character is written perfectly and acted perfectly without it being too toxic i love her she’s definitely my favourite in between Lara croft and Selene from underworld
You guys need to do Ash versus the evil dead the series it's only a few seasons and it's excellent ! It has a lot of talent in it, the incomparable Lucy lawless comes to mind !
So Roxy and Tara, desensitized yet?! You two were troopers hanging in there to react to the entire movie! Their is still "Ash vs Evil Dead(TV Series 2015-2018)" Three seasons which is a continuation off of the first 3 movies, 30 years later. And I loved the tropes from the wires of the elevator to be like the branches of the trees, the gouging at that mans eye and spitting it out as they did in the sequel/remake, Staffnie was the staff they used in the first movie that had of a skull on the end of it when a deadite got stabbed as the body fell apart. The blood in the elevator represents the blood gushing out of the wall just to name a few.
Love that they tied all the original movies to the 2013 version and now to this one. All one coherent franchise. Also, can we all just give a 10/10 for Roxy's supersonic chair spin?
You REALLY need to do 'Session 9'. I'd say overall it is more scary, while having very little actual gore. The entire concept is incredible and it has possibly one of the greatest horror atmospheres ever recorded on film, (due to the real location that it was filmed at.) In fact, the location was considered so horrific that most of the complex got torn down, (and destroyed by a fire,) after the movie finished filming...
I’d love to see yall watch Woman of the Hour it’s interesting based on a true story of a serial killer with the directorial debut from Anna Kendrick…. Or seeing yall do the Scream franchise.
From what I’ve read, one book appeared in the original Evil Dead trilogy, 2nd in the 2013 film, and the last one in this film. This makes all the films in the same continuity I believe.
Brilliant as always…You have to watch the “Hatchet” movies…I’m sure others have suggested them. There’s 4 films and they are a love letter to slasher movies, gory, funny with plenty of jump scares…and it’s Kane Hodder (Jason) as the slasher.
Bruce Campbell was actualy in this movie 😉 U can hear his voice during the situation when Danny is playing the record. Next one it needs to be Ash vs Evil Dead, please 😉 After that I can die in peace 😄
Great reaction, some recommendations for scary movies, the orphanage, lights out, let the right one in(or the American remake Let me in, both are good), and the autopsy of Jane doe
Thank you both so much for walking through this franchise. I like that the newer movies steered it back toward it's horror roots and were so well received by the fans. I think it means good things for more entries in the series.
The Cheese grater....I can't 🤢 these movies get better and better, excited to see what they do next! Happy Halloween to everyone 🎃 check out the Hatchet movies if you want/can please
I'm not an expert, but I believe it matters more how close to the epicenter of the quake you are than it's size sometimes. A 5.1 right under your feet is going to be worse than a 7.1, if it's 30 mi away... I THINK ? ?
Great news is there's a new one in 2026! The franchise is mainly anthology now and I love that. This will be another new set of characters and not a sequel. Just...feed me evil dead every 2-3 years forever please n
Poor tara, she had nightmares before the scarry season ends hahahaha apparently theres 3 different books that connects with each timeline, thats why each book looks different. Ash have one Mia had another Beth had the 3rd.
Happy Halloween! Kudos to you guys for getting through all the movies, and hopefully, you guys can do the tv series. It's brings back the cheese comedy and gore that we all know and love. The two new reboots are probably the best reboots from older horror movies next to the tcm reboot from 2003.
Last step before the show. I know you will love it. All the episodes except for the first episode are short , so you probably do 2 per video If you wanted to speed it up
Thank you so much, shejects! I literally put this movie on first thing this morning. Your reaction is just what I needed to make my Halloween. Happy spookers!
The shejects will embark on the channels first Re-watch. Of the most recent entry in the evil dead franchise. This chapter in necronomicon saga the terror reaches new heights. Where the Evil dead Rise all the way to New York City.
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the film. I expected more. It has many good approaches, but is disappointing overall. Too often the brakes are pulled when you think. . .but now.
One great thing about the V/H/S series is that you get two reaction videos out of each installment (the most sensible method is to do with anthologies is to do the whole reaction and have the editors divide it. Otherwise you have two-minute reactions.)
