"You'll be a good mom someday, you know how to lie to kids". That is a damn good line, faith restored. UPDATE: It was a fun movie, I give it a 7/10. If I hadn't seen Demons 2 first? I'd have likely dug this movie even more.

Saw it in theaters last night and it was the first Evil Dead movie I've ever watched. It was absolutely incredible and was such a great movie-going experience. The cinematography, the dialogue, and the chilling music, were all done beautifully. Highly recommend! Looking forward to another one.

The Evil Dead movie franchise literally bats 1000. Not a single bad film in the collection. This looks absolutely wild and feels like it’s going to give the 2013 remake a run for its money…which is crazy because it was already REALLY good.

The mother phrase at the door, the way she says it, her expression.. and also what the child says in her simplicity... GENIUS!!! horror filmmakers should learn!

I love how the "Deadites" in the Evil Dead lore shift to their weeping, crying self just so everybody can get their guards down and/or feel worse than they already are about hurting them. Simplest trick for psychological horror, but myGod it's brilliant.

One of the most Scariest Horror movies Ive ever saw! Keeps you holding your breath , on the edge of your seat! Fantastic! 10/10

What I love about the Evil Dead movies is once the horror starts, it does not end. It just escalates more and more.

Evil Dead was the first actual horror movie I saw as kid. This name itself gives me goosebumps.

Finally had the chance to watch this with my son last night and we both loved it! I absolutely love every movie in this series. Although Halloween is my all-time favorite, Evil Dead is a close 2nd. Hope they make more! Also- Ash vs. Evil Dead is such a fun show. I've watched it through 3 times. Really wish they had been on a better network so there could have been a season 4 though.

I admire such horror and thriller movies and I couldn't get over them for a week.

I love how the Evil Dead series works either as comedy horror or just balls to the wall horror. Can't wait!

The bloodied demonic face while she talks in her normal voice without any demonic growl sound effects is actually really scary. I'm definitely giving this a shot

Saw this the other night in theaters, it was a very well put together film and just down right terrifying. Easily one of the scariest if not the scariest film I've ever seen. The cast did a great job acting and there was never any moment in the film where you could relax because there was so much chaos going on! You have to see this movie!!!!!

This is one of the best horror movies I have seen in a really really long time. Amazing cast, amazing special effects and very well written.

Loved it when the little girl opened the door for her mommy. Must have left the keys at work or something, so it's a good thing she was there for her. so wholesome

I love the sheer look of terror on the characters faces as the voice is reciting the words from the necronomicon over the record.

Masterful in every way . Special effects and great music are the main reason why I enjoyed watching this movie . Acting is beyond expectations . As a result you cannot get bored with this film . Definitely 💯

This is 100% a movie I'm not too sure the kids will survive... but honestly we need a movie that will shock and surprise us out of that cliché once in a bloody moon

I was watching horror since I was as little as I can remember. I fell in love with Hellraiser at five or six around 1991. I would absolutely recommend this. It's a well made movie with a great story, fantastic actors, and it is very creative. I usually do not purchase movies before seeing them. I did with this and I am not disappointed. It was very creatively done. Movies like Hellraiser (theme song similarity, sharing a bit of a similarity to Cenobites), The Shining (blood bath elevator), the older Evil Dead (chainsaws and in a way it was hilarious while still being a great thrill), even The Grudge (the way they crawl), and more, were all seemingly inspirations for this. Yet it came out so original! I am used to being disappointed these days but have never been disappointed in this franchise.

Whoever plays the mother looks like she does a fantastic job!!! I mean all of them but that part where she’s outside the door and says “Open up now” is great…WOW

The delivery of the “Mommy’s with the maggots now” line was spot on. Hype.

I just finished watching the evil dead -2013 for the first time, bone chilling horror movie. Now i will watch this Today.

The main thing I love about this is that it feels like The Evil Dead remake, it has the style and the creepiness and it's looks like it's gonna have the over the top badass gore that I loved from that remake, Fede Alvarez isn't even directing this and yet they find a way to make it feel like it's directed by him, cannot wait to see this!!

Finally some relaxing and heart warming family movie 💕💕

I love how Evil Dead exists in two extremes, we got full blown Evil Dead 2 camp in Ash vs Evil Dead and full on horror/gore in the remake and this it seems. Looks awesome.

I think Evil Dead is one of the only movie franchises that can actually pull off horror and gore at the same time, so many "Horror movies" now a days are just blood and gore with little horror in them, Evil Dead seems to be one of the only few franchises to actually achieve the horror part of their movies and I love them for that! Can't wait to see this

the use of practical effects is so effective it’s what i loved about the 2013 movie and looks like they are going to do it similar in this one, evil dead are genuinely the only movies that can make me squirm! hopefully this one is as good as it looks!

This was an amazing horror movie. I kept seeing the trailers And was skeptical about if it was going to be cheesy or not. Whoever directed this movie did an outstanding job in I'll be a right amount of horror and dead people And all kinds of things going on.

For aficionados of the horror genre, this movie promises to be an absolute delight! We will definitely bring a movie recap once it realised.

I love how the way they do their roles from bottom of their heart to make audience feel thrilled. And I love how the way, girl opens the door with all her innocence and ask why she is not looking good, and secondly I love how the ghost says that mommy is maggots now it feels really horror

Imagine how scary smile was after u saw it. That exact same feeling after seeing smile is what u experience throughout the first 30 minutes of this movie.

They actually did pretty good. Complete remake, viable for the time, and for those who are fans of the origional Evil Dead, all the key factors are there.

Went in and didn't expect much. Came out terrified. It's a 10/10 for me

Evil Dead is always consistent, which is rare. I am actually terrified to watch this alone because for a franchise that’s been solid as far as horror and now a total of 5. Films and one amazing tv series, it’s not the fact it’s not taking place in the cabin nor that it’s this and the 2013 remake are not related but the first ten minutes terrified in me during daylight hours… I need to know how intense this one is!

And they were gonna dump this on streaming?! This looks AWESOME! Good call going theatrical, can't wait to finally see Deadites in the cinema after 10 years!

Just finished watching this qnd i gotta say that these comments gave me high expectations but it wasn’t all that,most of the scenes were predictable and the actors didn’t seem genuinely “scared” .I give this movie a 5/10

I recommend this movie . Some scenes are so scary but that’s the point ! From the beginning to the end Evil Dead Rise keeps the suspense. I watched it one more time yesterday night . I’ve got the first EVIL DEAD on videotape . Never disappointed me !

Just saw this last week. The streak of every evil dead film being good continues. My brother said the film wasn’t scary, but I was terrified at times. I loved how intense the gore was and the acting was really good IMO. Plus the incantation through the speakers made my skin crawl. I’m so glad that this film was good

Watched it lastnight... I'm not scared easily by horror films..but this was excellent,and scared the crap out of me at times.

I saw the movie today and this movie is no joke. Evil Dead Rise is far and away the best horror film I’ve seen this year. This movie was awesome. It was disturbing, scary, brutal and the movie showed no mercy. The Evil Dead franchise continues to bat 1000 at the plate. Every film in the series is amazing. The original from 1981, the awesome Evil Dead 2 from 1987, Army Of Darkness was a change of pace it was a flat out comedy and yet it was still a blast. The 2013 reboot was so underrated and in my opinion one of the better reboots over the last decade. This series is perfection not one lousy movie or uninspired effort. Most horror movie franchises get lazy and don’t put their best foot forward at a certain point but that’s never happened with Evil Dead and that’s why it’s such a beloved horror franchise.

About time, I've missed this kind of horror. It's been a long time.

As a huge fan of the Originals and Bruce Campbell, I wasn't sure what to expect. I love the comedy/ silliness of 2 and Army of Darkness. I also liked the more serious nature of 1 and the remake. I gotta say this looks better than the 2013 remake. Which is exciting cause I like the remake. I'm glad they went serious because not sure if anyone could pull off the one liners like Bruce does lol.

The actress who played the mom was just brilliant. I was genuinely creeped out at 29 years old😂. I even had to pause the scenes to brace myself cause how frightening some parts were. I’ll be watching the original series. I saw the 2013 remake which was pretty awesome too

loved this franchise ever since I was a little kid and I found my parents VHS copy of Evil Dead 2. Even though many people found it comical I was really young and it scared the shit out of me. Army of Darkness was great and I enjoyed the 2013 remake. I can't wait to see this one, the incantation being played aloud in that tone definitely set the mood, love it.
