I actually did a Sunday School lesson on how being a Christian is punk rock, and showed the examples of our Biblical forefathers that were punk rock in their actions. I played OBP I Scream Sunday.
Wow P.B. I would love to attend a church with metal worship. I've been listening to Christian metal/hardcore music for over 20 years. It has actually opened a door to share my faith with non believers. It's also a positive alternative to negative secular music (not all secular music is bad in my opinion). Great message pastor.

As they say "different strokes" if you have the Lord in your heart and your focus is honoring Him, do it. I personally don't care for Metal I'm a country guy but that's okay. I love anyone and everyone who loves and honors our Lord Jesus and I really don't care how you do it as long as you do it. Great message PB.
Good morning pastor Bob. I was at a rez band concert and pastor Glenn was preaching and I received the Messiah. Later I had a pastor tell me that “Christian rock or metal” was satanic. People can be legalistic. Thank you for you ministry pastor Bob. I look forward to your videos every morning. I thank the Creator for men like you and Glenn Kaiser and folks who are called to minister thru metal or rock or blues or even folk music.
Im thankful we have access to so many varieties of Christian music especially metal. Praise God. I stopped listening to any bands that promoted evil stuff and found my niche with true Christian heavy bands like Living Sacrifice, For Today...🙏
I understand for some people the modern expression of worship isn’t their thing. I thought the clip you played was awesome. The band sounds very good. I think people need to realize that time is running out and we need reach as many people with the gospel as we can. If using different styles of music to reach all kinds of people is what we need to do I’m all for it but the messengers must be committed to Christ or it will not be sustainable. Good video, PBB. It’s sad that there are still Christian Legalists, condemning Christian Rock and Metal. Legalism is not going away until Christ returns. We still got to pray for them. I’m a Christian who loves metal and rock music when I was a new Christian I fell for the works gospel and fell into legalism and I stopped listening to the music I loved and even stopped playing guitar which was and still is my favorite things to do
I like metal music both Christian and non Christian and I know now that I don’t need to be ashamed just because other people don’t like it now I just think I just like my music a little louder and more aggressive 😂
It's interesting. I dislike having a full band at church. Most of the time it's people who "I'm called to do music" there way through each and every song.
This was awsome. I love christian rock and metal some christuan rap too. I will admit that iev never attended a worship service of this nature it really dose look like a good time of worship but i can see as an outsider how one may think that it could be very worldly. In the aspect of the headbagging can come off as very showey and how they are dressed. When i was younger and into my early 20s i went to a southern baptist church with a very excitable pastor with a ear for music who was very much rooted into the southern gospal scene that at one point our church had our own gospal music festival. He did have the opinion tho that a certun BPM tempo could alter your mental cognitive ability ie "rick n roll us evil. Dureing worship service our band would play the old hymes and especially during this one song us as a church would get excited and sing, clap and dance in praise. One sunday night we had a small family visit the church and at the end of service told our pastor we were being too worldly for clapping and danceing to the music. At one point because the way our wirship servicec was and the way our pastor preached we would hear remarks like " oh there gose those bapticostals" 😁 after that he put a stop to it cause he didnt want to scare any other visitors away because of our antics.
Proof is in the Pudding. The original poster answered their own question. They came to the Lord because of Christian Metal. How can one question how they came to the Lord? I’m thinking if it was valid back then it’s still valid today. P.S. loved the video clip ❤
It's all a matter of taste. I'm not a big screamer/screamo/black metal fan, not at my age anyway. but I wouldn't say it's evil or worldly. years ago when I was in a dark place in my life, I fed off of certain secular bands because that's where I was, but it didn't help. It validated my emotions, but offered no hope. Our mission is to offer that hope in Christ.
The argument that I give when this subject comes up is as follows: I can defend Christian metal logically and philosophically/theologically. First logically... If I were to perform Amazing Grace with distorted guitars and false chords would it make it evil? No, of course not, because it's about the message. Think of how analog tv/radio work. You have a carrier signal that you tune into to watch or listen to programming. The music is the carrier signal; it's the message that is important. My radio is tuned to metal, so that is how I receive God's message the best. Finally the philosophical/theological defense...Think back to when Jesus was healing the blind man and was accused of doing Satan's work. He gave his famous "house divided" speech. If you extend His point, if something brings you closer to God, how can it be evil? If something doesn't make you feel closer to God, then don't listen to it. Hope this helps someone. God bless!
A lot of the bands do bring out pictures like skulls and things that do realy look evil looking on covers, and even some words are very close to not even true wriship. We should be different from the world in how we sing and what we say even if it's in music . We dont reach anyone. Only God does. We are used by God.
I'm a big fan of hair metal and I'm getting back into christianity I'm always being told how they have songs about nothing but sex drugs and rock and roll. But take runnin with the devil for example I don't see it as worshipping the devil. I see it as a warning from David Lee roth saying don't live your life this way it looks fun but it's not.
But what about listening to a band that is secular when you are not worshipping God? I recently got into a Metal core Swedish band called Imminence which is now one of my favorite Metal bands currently. Is that wrong as a Christian?
