They actually did part of Gaston (more extended than here) in “Tale as Old As Time” (I think that is what they called it) which is their Beauty and the Beast medley.
The Bass Gang's Be Prepared is also brilliant. Especially with the bats flying around the cave! (Their whole EP is fun, but the other two aren't villain songs)
Geoff said in an interview with The Charismatic Voice that he has been asked to audition for the role of Gaston for Disney park shows in the past, but he's always declined because he doesn't think he has the right stature. He said that one of his friend who played Gaston was like 6'6" / ~2m tall.
I live for the day that Geoff does a full version of "Be Prepared." Currently, my favorite version is done by Peter Hollens. And side note: have you ever seen the Deadpool Gaston Parody? It's freaking hilarious, but be warned, it is NOT for children. Actually, I probably don't need to say that. I mean it IS Deadpool!
I’m thinking it was an ad for the movie which is why it is on the Disney channel maybe? I love the interaction of the dog. It is just how I see them on movie night - curled up on the couch eating snacks.
You had it right the first time: We Are Siamese is from Lady and the Tramp. And yeah, nobody very much got into that era of Disney animated films all that much. I grew up in that era, and the big-three Disney films were always the old ones (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White). Some people watched the new ones that were coming out, but nobody _cared_ about them very much. Even Jungle Book lived in the shadow of the older live-action version. The new ones didn't really start getting meaningful attention again, until Little Mermaid, and it wasn't until Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast (which were around the same time) that it became clear that the dry period was really over. "The best Disney movie of all time is The Fox and the Hound," said nobody ever. The thing about Oogie Boogie as a villain, is that he's a side-plot villain. He isn't even necessary to the main plot of the movie. Lock, Shock, and Barrel could've just tied Sandy up in a closet someplace, and then once Jack repented he could've come and let him out, and it doesn't significantly alter the overall storyline of the movie at all. Arguably the most important thing it contributes, is an opportunity for Sandy Claws to say something about Jack's relationship with Sally, which is a side plot in the first place, and even in that context Sandy's comment isn't critically important to said side plot. With that said, Oogie Boogie is a good character, and including him in the movie was probably a solid choice. The song is fun. But it's padding. It's fun padding, but it's padding. It doesn't advance the plot at all. The actual villain role in the movie, is filled by Jack's existential crisis / ennui.
Great reaction! Your videos are always a mood booster. I love how this Top 10 is a preview of several full songs VP ended up doing later. I don't think there is a VP take on "Gaston" yet, but maybe it's still coming.
Oh Please do the Sidekicks next! And maybe the full version of Cruella de Ville? That one you need to google as it's on a Disney youTube channel. As for other ACA10's 'Old School Rap' is fun, but I also recommend '80s Cartoons'!
You were right the first time. It was Lady and the Tramp. They are the reason Lady ended up at the pound. it is called having 4 kids and a time when Saturday cartoons was the only time you saw cartoons unless mom and dad sit through 1001 repeat viewings of Disney movies, any Disney movie that comes out.
If you liked this video you should check out Peter Hollens' Be Prepared. He is so sassy and theatrical in it; plus him and the backup singers are in full costume.
This is such an awesome catalogue of their talents and yet, now that it is slightly dated, I would love to hear them do another and just see how much it has all changed...it could be SO much fun... Thank you for this video DJ, always fun on the livestream and great getting it on the main channel too! #HerdLove
You really need to listen to Once Upon An Ever After. and Geoff will tell you - he's not tall enough to play Gaston. 🤣 Also - ACA Top 10s aren't by who's rated what number.... they're compiled by the flow of the music.
Their ACA top 10s are a blast! Since you like the villains I would recommend checking out Thomas Sanders friends on the other side and Claire Crosby's Disney villain medley
I want to say that the end credits version of Be Prepared is somewhere on their Disney album, but don’t quote me on that because it’s been a minute since I’ve listened to it.
It is - it was released by Touchstone. I don’t know if they still use that label but they used to use it for movies less typically Disney - sometimes with (gasp!) adult themes. Splash was the first movie (I remember people arguing if it was by Disney or not-I’m that old). They even did an R-rated movie: Down and Out in Beverly Hills. Lots of good movies. www.google.com/url?pjf=1&q=en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchstone_Pictures&sa=U&sqi=2&ved=2ahUKEwitmbDXufqEAxX9LUQIHfOaCygQFnoECB4QAQ&usg=AOvVaw2trx3lT0_tlqm1AmK73wtM
@@janetdwi remember Splash. i also remember Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies. I enjoyed that show when i was in high school and/or college. I'm that old. Nightmare Before Christmas is one of many movies that I haven't watched but I want to. I'll never get around to all of those movies because there are just too many, and I fall further behind all the time.
No offense but Geoff would have made a much better Dr Facillier, his voice is much closer to the original and I like that gruffness the character has which J None just kinda lacks
