Bev Bevan was the coolest drummer. He dressed really well. He had style and strength and I wanted to emulate him. My first professional drum set was a 5-piece Slingerland drum kit, just like Bev had played. And mine were in chrome.
Midnight Special, I have lost so much sleep in the week since your channel was recommended to me. I see that trend isn’t going to end anytime soon, for which I thank you. 😂
Rock band gone orchestra.... ELO will always be one of my top favorites. I am thankful I still have a CD player in my car... nothing like popping in the CD and rolling on down the highway! Happy Thursday... thank you for sharing! 💖
@@QAlba1074… and you can usually pick them up very inexpensively! We have a used Record, Tape & CD store very close to my home, and I’m in there at least once a week picking up $3 gently used CD’s that used to sell for $12 and up…and have built up quite an enormous collection of great hit albums…
Kelly got a lot of them! God bless. Love jeff but glad Kelly sued him when they broke up, jeff didn't appreciate how much kelly did. Must have killed jeff having to pay him out tight sod!😂
So talented, all of them!🔥 It’s so weird to think I was only 13 when this aired! 😅 This is one of my favorites of theirs! Side note: I didn’t notice the bass player's platforms before! Haha. Thanks again, Midnight Special!✌️
When ELO hit the airwaves they were so different than any other modern rock band. And their concerts and clamshell stage were jaw-dropping. It was an amazing time to be alive and old enough to appreciate their brilliance.
Damn! Me likey very much! LIVE LIVE LIVE. Now if only the engineers were to of gotten it together mixing them live, that would have been icing on the cake. Nonetheless....love these guys! They sounded great. Midnight Special and the 70s, a match made in heaven!😊
Saw this band get booed off the stage at the old Olympia in Detroit, Michigan. Elf with Dio on lead vocals opened the show, ELO lasted 3 songs until people were throwing stuff at them. Then Deep Purple came out and blew the crowd out into space. It was the Stormbringer tour.
So are to believe especially with how progressive Detroit has always been in the music scene. That must have been well before they were known at all. I never made it to Olympia, but came out of Cobo Hall with my ears ringing after a concert many many times!
@@garymagid9443 The Redwings use to play at the Olympia. It was ground zero, when the 1967-1968 riots started after MLK was assassinated. ELO never should of been on that bill. There was 15 thousand in the Olympia that night. The crowd was there for Deep Purple. The crowd was introduced to band called Elf, who opened, some guy named Ronnie James Dio was their lead vocalist. The crowd fell in love with Elf. I saw the original Uriah Heep with David Byron on lead vocals at Cobo Hall, Earth, Wind and Fire opened. Saw Johnny Winter, Deep Purple (Burn tour) Kiss, UFO/Rush at Cobo Hall. Pistons use to play there. I saw many bands get there start at the Michigan Palace. The only thing left today of the Palace is the ceiling. Beautiful. It's a parking lot today I grew up in suburbs 40 miles away from Detroit.
Great 🎧, Jeff’s glasses remind me of mine back then, they’d turn darker outside. When I met my boyfriend in college he said it looked like I had my motorcycle glasses on, sexy (he had a bike). Whew,,,who knew?
Hello Everyone I'm going to Jeff Lynne s ELO Concert On 9/23/24 the over and out tour at TD garden Boston I'll I have to say God Bless Jeff Lynnes elo rock on my friend
i never appreciate when musicians uptempo a song to this degree, i suppose in effort to get it over with and fit into the TV broadcast schedule. or they just want to cut it short cuz they arent REALLY into it and just want the cheque
