Eva - Natalie Toro Che - Raúl Esparza Perón - Raymond Jaramillo McLeod Magaldi - Tom Flynn Perón’s mistress - Angela Covington Not my recording. This is only act 1 and Don’t Cry for Me Argentina
Wow! Gracias por compartir esto. Hacer teatro musical no solo es cantar bien, la interpretación es vital. Un deleite todo el elenco, en especial, Raúl Esparza.
What an all star cast! Raul is one of the greatest. Natalie’s work in Broadway’s Tale of Two Cities is thrilling. Raymond has such a deep recognizable voice and he’s such friendly guy
Thank you so much for posting this! I had no idea that a higher quality version existed! It’s a shame that the second act is lost as of now, but regardless I love this!
There is a copy of the whole show but no where near this quality! It’s truly more like what you’d think a bootleg would look like! If i remember correctly the tape speed somehow had been changed so instead of extended play, it ran short thus the necessity of an additional tape! The show is not long. It would have fir on one tape! Hopefully it’ll surface. What a joy to get to see this alll these years later!! Halden (Eva’s Attaché Rainbow Tour)
How I love Hal Prince's original staging of this show. So simple, yet tremendously effective and thrilling! I saw this production twice; once with Natalie Toro as Eva and another time with the Eva alternate Ana Maria Andricain. Both were fantastic. I had always wanted to see the original staging and I did see several productions before this one that attempted to recreate it but this here was the real deal. The full-scale original complete with that floor that lights up and the huge screen that appears to shrink and expand as it rides upstage and downstage. Even better this production recreated all of Larry Fuller's choreography from the original production, something I feel adds a tremendous amount of subtext and thrilling moments to this show. I wish I had seen it more than twice. I saw a 2000 production starring Valerie Perri in the lead role that perfectly recreated this very staging. I had no idea Perri would be playing Eva and had no idea it would be a replica of the original so when I sat with my program I was delighted to see I would catch Perri's Eva once again after having enjoyed her do the role several years earlier in another production. I remember taking it all in because I loved her Eva and she had been doing the role for a long time and wondered if that production would be the last one. It did turn out to be her last Evita and I was so glad to have seen her one more time. This Eva--Natalie Toro--I really grew to love as well. I at first wasn't too thrilled with her very youthful-sounding voice (being used to the power and more mature sound of Patti LuPone) but I love her acting and she added lots of comedic bits that bring a whole new meaning to some scenes. And her voice...just listen to that voice. Beautiful vibrato and she nails every note. Wish I would've caught Toro in my absolute favorite musical of all time that I've seen 30 times...Les Miserables. Toro played Eponine on Broadway. Would've loved to have seen her in that! At any rate...NOTHING beats Hal Prince's original production! Bring it back!!
Thank you so much for posting!! Brought back memories! I saw this tour back in the day in Boston and was so excited to see the fabulous original staging, choreography and costumes!! Today’s productions are such a bore to me! Nothing beats the original! It always amazed me how much Natalie Toro looked like Elaine Paige in this! I wish the second act was posted so I could see that again!
I’ve remembered Angela Covington’s “Another Suitcase” (at 44:13) for nearly 25 years! Such a lovely and powerful voice. Great to hear it again; I’ve never heard a better version.
@@chrisjacobs7417 I just wonder ..... There is "and the money kept rolling" online, in exactly this quality and this cast and that's from act 2. Maybe there does exist more?
Very good production. Webber is a musical genius. His blend of Catholic church religious style and "big number" stage music in the opening number is brilliant. Raul as Che was excellent.
@@partialsunnot of this night it doesn't. There is a complete video from another night. But this is recording had always cut off at dcfma. In use to have a vhs copy
@@partialsun I remember when the video was first released, I had a first-generation copy on VHS from the master. I am 100% certain the full video does not exist. Like I said there is a full video of this cast, it just was not this night
