That’s part of the problem. He’s singing it like a love song but the lyrics are tearing her to shreds. He should have a touch of anger and contempt in his voice, not adoration.

It's because Ricky Martin's getting older and so does his voice. It's getting sloppy when he's singing especially Livin La Vida Loca. Still love his music tho
Great song and orchestral ambience, Ricky Martin's is a great performance. Though, thematically different, this reminds me of Frank Sinatra's memorable song sung from the heart "Strangers in the Night".
This might be controversial but, although I think Martin has a lovely, great voice, I don't think he has the right sound for Che. I feel like Che is supposed to have an element of ruggedness. Ricky sounds like a Disney prince.
ryan campbell yeah, nothing against him; he was just miscast...and maybe directed poorly as well. Che is angry and sarcastic...Ricky was almost...cheerful?
As far I as Know, the "Che" character is supposed to be a storyteller...he does not really “interact” with the other characters on the play. He has/feels no anger or emotions connected to what the other characters do or feel. It is hard to explain; he is everywhere, he is everybody and no one at the same time. “Che” means “Guy”, “Fellow” …for instance, ”oh, don’t even think about it Che ” In some plays Che was styled with a beret, beard and military uniform, referencing “El Che Guevara”, although I do not think this was an accurate approach to the role. So Che is not a person in specific, he is the one in charge to tell the narrative. I had the chance to see Ricky Martin and Elena Roger live in Broadway and were great. Ricky's Che was in every scene and that for sure required a lot of physical strength and talent.
