EVM is against democracy..... Against constitution of India..... Ballot paper is Good..... Evm if used asked direct them casted vote put in the box... So that that can be compared with evm and vote costed in the box...
Sir simple and best solution either reject EVM or ballot paper to do simple modification is, the voter get slip and put separate ballot box. This is a only justification.
I am Cybersecurity professional with 16+ years experience in MNC IT companies, based out in Bangalore. EVMs are basically hardware with firmware. Any hardware with firmware can be hacked. Many countries, including United States, do not accept hardware which are not FIPS 140 compliant. Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 is a mandatory standard., which now standardizes on the ISO 19790:2012 and ISO 24759:2017. If EVM is not FIPS 140-3 compliant, there is no point in conducting elections using EVM machines. If Election Commission (EC) says EVMs can't be hackable, this is not convincing answer. Is EVM certified by standards like: FIPS or Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408) or ISO/IEC 27001Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) or TCG (Trusted Computing Group) Standards or IEEE 801 ????
Electronic machine is easy to manipulate, this ppl should come open up the evm and discuss the components. Or why they cany tally the vvpad with the evm? That's the only solution and fair election.
Software can be manipulated. These people are not discussing it. And, for every constituency, software is downloaded from the net. That s/w can be manipulated.
Ok….. asking you all experts one question…… why was transparent glass on VVPAT changed to black glass ? Even SC is wondering on this, can you So called experts explain this ? EVM is not hackable agreed but it’s programmable and anything can be programme. The argument in SC was the black glass on EVM was simply made to show the same slip again and again till the next vote is casted to different party, for example (let’s think the EVM is programmed to favour A party ) 1st person comes and casts vote to A party - VVPAT verifies and the paper is dropped in the box. 2nd person comes and Casts vote to B party - VVPAT verifies and the paper is not dropped in the box ( since the glass is black you can’t see) 3rd person comes and votes to party B again - VVPAT which has not dropped the paper shows the same slip ( since you are not seeing the paper being dropped it can / cannot be the same paper. Again what if 3rd person comes and votes for party C - VVPAT will now drop the earlier paper and show the new slip and hold it (till the next vote is casted to different party) Now if 3rd and 4th person also voted for B party - VVPAT will show them both the same paper, since you cannot see the paper dropping. ( since due to EVM which is programmed to favour the A party) Now since 2nd 3rd and 4th person have casted vote to B party and only 1st person casted to A party, What is programmed, is to match the number of vote in EVM to VVPAT, so 3 extra papers will be printed and dropped in favour of A party. (To balance the paper and digital vote) Hope it makes sense. Or else tell me why black glass was introduced where there was transparent class. And why not give the voter the printed slip and ask them to drop themselves in the box. I am open to change.

Yes, the EVM machines can be hacked. The principle is, " What is made by man can be unmade by man". There is a simple solution. The names of the candidates should be arranged randomly in each EVM. The order of their names should be different for different EVM.
Debates with opposition parties should be conducted on every news channel to confirm EVMs are the right thing to do or not. People need to be convinced.
We agree all the points, but have few questions for which public expect reply. 1. If everything with EVM are fine, if it cannot be tampered, if booth capturing/exchange of EVM/VVPAT is not possible, Why a meeting with opposition party leaders/experts could not be given by EC? 2. Some advocates/experts requested to hand over few best EVMs, on a security deposit basis, for proving that EVM can be tampered, pre set. Why it was not done? 3. Why someone will steal lakhs of EVMs? What is the use of it, other than for voting? 4. There were many complaints that vote has gone to some other party when they actually voted for someone else., if it is 100% trustable, how that can happen?

What we say count of VVPAT should be 100%.when sharma put in a RTI to EC about the EVMS still no replay from EC.After the election's the rule say Data to be saved for a year why is it erased with few days and some after few months.

I am a senior software Engineer, I had an opportunity to work with an electronic voting machine, it's possible to hack in many ways. If you are good in C language, you can simply think by using if else statement with condition of date and time. Example. If there is 5 party 5 symbols... All can vote for their wishes... The program is done for date and time.. Your vote will be stored as per your vote, till the date and time reach. When it reaches the date and time in an electronic machine automatically these votes can be converted to the program as per the percentage of votes for all parties.
I am Programmer and you can jump from one area to another of the program by touching a combination of buttons known to very few people so that even you touch the button for one party can be recorded for another party which only you can come to know only when you count the vvpat.
Why you are supporting EVM, is it have software for processing, if yes according to that EVM work, there is no doubt about, not all machines certain units and certain amount of votes can change. Why bjparty members appointed in director board. ECI have no own experts to chack it, some agencies are doing all work. Why ECI not take the challenge to give 50 machines to public to prove . Otherwise what is the problem to count all vvpat slips and tally it.
We have to understand controller . Every chip has controller and depends what function they are mean to do such as single function and multi function . A single function controller has fixed instructions (programming) and generally one time programmable (other than source) . So chances of hacking evm is tend to zero yes there could be chances to tamper a controller . For EVM ,in our country, we have best security features concerning to tampering.
You need to familiar with election process Comprehensively. Randomization of EVM happen at least 3 time in the presence of leaders of various political party leaders. And EVM in India are stand alone unit. 1 EVM is for 1 booth.So pre allotment tampering is not possible because EVM are randomly distributed. And on booth before start of voting Trial voting is done in front of Agents of Political Parties. And after Election EVM are keep stored for particular duration in Election Commission control. And after election process & result declaration and cooling period.These EVM are again examined by Election Commission before using again. All components of EVM are checked after Election.If Tampering found ECI investigate & repoll the vote on booth if necessary. So there are Checks at least 5 places.

SV judgement on EVM has made VVPATs redundant. It’s better to get rid of VVPATs as the pater trail coming out of VVPAT is sticky and can’t be handled with hands. With this logic even paper trail of mandatory 5% counting of votes can’t be counted as they are sticky as well.
EVMs hackable or not is an issue that we can discuss at some other stage. The pertinent point as of now is why even the Judiciary is not prepared to support the popular demand. There is a huge public outcry against the use of EVM but the authority won't budge from it's pro EVM stance.

The individuals with the domine knowledge will tell you so as to how results could be manipulated. Making judgement without domine knowledge is not legally tenable.
