People talk shit wherever you go, I can honestly say that I find the SF community infinitely more polite and outgoing than the majority of other gaming communities, some MMOs included.
I give mad credit to the guys in tournaments cause regardless of that or not these people still play with ridiculous patience and skill. Definitely going to see a lot more Cammy players in tournaments now because she is a dangerous character. While E Honda well somebody's gotta throw Mike Ross a curve with that. Personally I think they have to amp up one of his moves like the Butt Stomp give that more block priority or something lol.
I don't care if it's your hobby, for some people it's more than that. My hobbies are playing music and sports, that doesn't mean I'm gonna get a job doing either of those, but I'm not going to tell a musician or a skier that what they're doing isn't a job. If you're making money it's a job, if you're trying to achieve something you're working. And I would never compare Daigo to Federer, that man is a living god.
They DO make money, they get sponsored and get money when they win a tournament, just like a Tennis player or a NASCAR racer. The guys who play tournaments like this might not make much, but there are plenty of people who make a living working at places like Machinima and Roosterteeth. There's also people who play games and post videos on RU-vid who would say "My job is to play video games". Blaming murder on a game is just fucking stupid. First it was movies, then music, and now it's games.
online is a way to practice, you cant get better by winning the same way....stick with what you know, then try to change it up a bit, thats how u grow....
playing videogames professionally is as much of a job as playing a sport or playing in a band. There's no difference. What you get depends on how good you are, it's that simple.

It's called entertainment, people post videos to entertain people and they get money for it. Just like a television station. well, if were only including fighting games, in generally the communities arent very harsh. barely hear people shit talking on mk9, MvC, street fighter, probably even KoF idk i dont play that game. if your talking about all games, sure, but they all play call of duty so basicly youd be saying that one game community ruins all the others

In a poor country... you don't need a lot to survive. I never said it was bad for me, i said it was not healthy. I play video games once in three or four days and sometimes weeks. People are very good in a game cause they practise it a lot and Daigo has probably played this game for hours and hours per day. You don't need to copy a definition, everyone knows what work is. When i said work, i meant like the word job, so you gain money. When you ask someone what is your work, nobody will answer " i'm a video games player". You are messing everything, you take examples that happens to everyone, not only by playing sport. I can also take the example when some teenagers kill others with guns and when police ask them why, they say it's because i saw that on a video game and they reproduce what they saw.

Alright guess I'll be the first to say it but her active frame / block on hit got nerfed soo much in cammys favor it's retarted. Any ranked player with decent PP over 3000 uses her and can pretty much come out with a victory if played smart. Hell I've used her and my buddy used her to beat A ranked guys with little to no effort. Ryu I still feel has a very balance gameplay system between offense defense throws techs and pokes but I mean cammys offensive strength is just retarted now in AE.

nope in fact just last night i beat sum dude (i was yun .he was seth) and i even said GG after it was over and to this day he still sending threats that he will break my neck and that street fighter is just a game and not compared to reality

It has been many years and every time I watch this video i just end up burst laughing at 5:17. This is a great match but they both play like Bronze player at that moment. I can't believe Xiaohai just mashed out spin knuckle by mistake at moment like this while Daigo doesn't react and punish it.
