@kelvin303
@kelvin303 2 года назад
@@thehillza They didn’t give him a reason. Everyone assumes it’s because of the domestic violence case he had a few years ago, which his girlfriend at the time falsely accused him of being an abuser. Capcom banned him 2 years which he patiently waited and he was still investing time to play pro in their own game, then Capcom sent him a notice stating that he is permanently bann from all tournaments. This is what happens when Capcom and other companies take control of the competitive scene that people created. They bann the best players, filipino champ, and Infiltration to name a few. No trash talking, no best players, trash events, community has less control, games become water down etc.. Infiltration is still the GOAT though

IDOM had a great run. Both Kawano (winners bracket) and IDOM (losers bracket) both went undefeated in their perspective brackets. IDOM slaying through 3 straight Japanese powerhouses (Daigo, Tokido, and Gachikun) It was not until the Grand Final when it came down to the final last round (with a losers reset) to make it one of the most memorable finals in EVO history. in my opinion, kawano and idom are having their best moments. in fact, Idom in the US has been the top player for at least 2-3 years. Thank you kawano for keeping the evo title away from the Americans for another year.

Bro thank god, I can't stand Americans winning they won't shut up about it. They are literally people on twitter saying Idom is better than Kawano even now. Kawano adapted perfectly in the last set, read all his command throws with v shift. Also Americans dont realize that Japan didn't even send all their best players, Momochi/fuudo/Bonchan/Fujimura many more. Tokido did get destroyed by Idom but I dont know why he didn't just play Luke.

MAYBE it could be different if Idom used Poison because Fuudo's Poison is strong. Anyway, Kawano showed great adaptability and knew how to take advantage of being in winner's side. And Idom showed great reads and great mind control. daigo, tokido and gachikun are still trying to use their hands on their own. 😄😄 Can't wait to see them in the Capcom Cup.

i know this is unreasonable. but i feel a pang of personal offense when the OGs are defeated. "These punk-cheater kids today..." ;) as I get older, I understand that I need to operate a bit differently in life. you have less mental flexibility (meaning the ability to change approach at will and to DEAL with dramatic changes coming at you). so, basically, you need to train to use your increased stillness of mind; look at aspects of wisdom, using your age to your advantage. Pride and ego are pitfalls of young and old. but, imo, planning benefits older people much more than younger people because, when you're young, you can 'wing it' a TON easier (in many different ways).

Idom is a fucking legend. I have cared very little about SF5 over the last few years but this top 8 was one of the absolute best top 8s I've ever seen regardless of game. Idom's run was absurd, and ti make it final set, final round and a close one at that was amazing.

I've been watching IDOM play for a minute now, and he always impresses. I know he came in 2nd, but I'm not convinced he isn't the best SF player in the world at the moment, even with the post-reset loss to Kawano (congrats to him for winning btw).
@mee091000
@mee091000 2 года назад
I wish I could have that mindset. But he lost while at his absolute peak. He would have won the last game if he was better. You cant really make a winners argument either because he still got sent to losers first. The most you can say. Is that NA surpassed the former JP peak. But the new generation of JP players are still the best. Smug and Punk specifically dropped the ball. Because the tournament would have went much differently if Smug had beaten Kawano. And Punk was the best in the world at one point. The challenge of having to fight Daigo, Tokido, and Gachikun back to back just to make it into Grand Finals is insane. And I don't think anyone in the world other than Kawano could have made that come back.
@JJRegal4
@JJRegal4 2 года назад
@@mee091000 I disagree. That final round was basically as close as it could possibly be. Kawano doesn't make that final read to get the crush counter, and this would've been a different conversation. It doesn't really matter that he got sent to losers side. That was an insane run he went on to reach the Grand Finals. Crimson, Daigo, Tokido, Gachikun. And then still beat Kawano (which officially moved Kawano to losers as well). And that's the thing -- that first set already proved he could beat him, and he was that close to doing it twice. I'm not downplaying Kawano at all because he certainly earned his championship, but it's not always the best team/player that wins in any sport, hence why you don't see a bunch of undefeated streaks all over the place. It should also be noted that IDOM usually mains Poison, who's a higher tier character than Laura. I will agree that JP has NA beat overall though.
