It's perfectly in character, though, don't you think? After watching story mode -- Happy Chaos being able to do basically whatever he wants with seemingly unfair abilities that break the rules of the world is so on brand. He's truly a villain in the story and in the competitive scene. Someone we can hate watching as he succeeds anyway.
@@shaieresmirnoff Outdated with Season 3, but Season 2 Happy wasn't broken on account of his damage. Almost everyone in Strive has always done silly amounts of damage. The issue was his array of tools. He had the best neutral in the game bar none, his pressure was also some of if not the best (at point-blank, he had access to at least four different ways to open you up at all times, and he was _always_ plus), and those two strengths alongside his combo conversions let him basically always have enough meter for Yellow Roman Cancel. Which would throw you into a 50/50, and if you lost, you lost at least 40% life or burst and promptly entered a horrible situation against Happy. *TL;DR* he was so good at neutral and offense that it also looped around to making him fine at defense, so he pretty much just lacked weaknesses in a game where everyone else is specialized :\
@@jaedenadams6599 So every time Leffen wins Evo it’s because a character played the game for him? You said that in DBFZ and Smash too? Other people play Happy Chaos and they aren’t winning Evo, so…?
I was rooting for umisho since i main sol and rooting for the defending champion wasnt half bad. But damn if it didnt hurt seeing her fighting the horrid matchup that is sol Vs nago. Its a matchup ive personally had a lot of troubke with and im happy atleast that she had an amazing run. I was aware that she had a pocket sol because long story short, a sort of idol inspiration for me in this game had "umisho (so)" as their highest rated beaten opponent on rating update. Glad she decided to do the entire run with the funny scientist
Hey all I have no idea about GG mechanics as I mainly watch SF6. To me a complete noob HC seems incredibly OP but I'm sure there has to be some high learning curve. Leffen made it look so easy with all those crazy combos and into his super. Is he that good or is the character broken?
happy chaos is a huge high risk high reward pick. you have to balance both a meter and an ammo counter and can easily get caught out doing reloads. he also has an hp pool on the smaller side of the cast. however, he has crazy good mixups and pressure and zoning. hes def a strong char but theres alot of strong chars in gg (zato, nago, ram) so its not that bad.
@kevinjamesmith considering there's only one HC in top 6 he's not as broken as, say, Leroy in tekken when he was released. HC is def high tier but I hesitate to call him broken
@@tomloki6756 That's kind of the point, though. HC played to perfection, for example by a pro player like Leffen, is completely oppressive and broken. The character is just not fun to go against and breaks a lot of fundamental rules and norms of fighting games. Sure he's a glass cannon, but his tools are so ridiculously overpowered you only need 2-3 interactions to overwhelm your opponent and take the round. It's just my opinion but I think it's a terrible design for a game like Strive and it annoys me to no end that the character has now taken 2 Evos in a row.
I just want to say.. the melee community generally views Leffen as someone that has mostly turned around. I'd say he's well liked or respected by a decent amount of other top level pros and pillars of the community. He can be incredibly confident and his personality is not for everyone. but everyone's bound to find someone they don't vibe with. And when you play a game at a top level, can you blame someone for being confident and exuding that? I say pop off. People should be confident in themselves. I don't really find him over the top in that category, especially recently. I think he's generally likeable and classy now a days.
He is undeniably skilled, but he really deserves to be run out of every community hes in. Hes done a lot of crappy things, and theyve arguably gotten worse since the early 2010s. Didnt he literally get himself banned from his local scene and attempt to cover it up and discredit all the evidence some 10 years ago? And then just a couple years ago, 2020 or 2021, there were 2 cases of him accusing people of sexual harassment and completely lying about it. Even though he lied about it, it literally forced one of them to expose extremely private information that should never have had to be revealed. His fanbase is also a terrible influence on communitys too.
@@Maxler5795likin the character is impawtant to k33p someone playin the game lmew, it k33ps them interested in playin the game, also it doesn meowtter how hard a character is cause all characters r vv hard when ur furst startin a fightin game, k33p playin chaos an eventually ur gonna b jus as good, !!! ♡♡♡,
@@dancinginfernal if you complain about a matchup because its "too hard" or "impossible", my only answer is to " get better". Shit, I'm a chipp main, and I'm floor 4, I know im not the best, and you dont see me crying about how pot can take 75% of my health without breaking a sweat, or how rams corner pressure annihilated every match I was on. Same for chaos, just wait for a mistake, then punish. 99% of the "problems" with the game is about a fucking dlc character. Jesus these comment sections will explode when johnny comes out on strive. If you are having difficulty with a character, instead of complaining, try to figure them out.
Unfortunately, all the pools vids were copyright claimed. So depending we might not ever see them or it'll take a while for them to available to everyone.
His latest pinned tweet: *❝I'm one of the best fucking fighting game players ever and don't you fucking forget that.❞* Idk I can't vibe with his energy man lol
@@superultrathanksmom3845people have done nothing but downplay his achievements in the fgc, he has every right to tweet that. Dude has been dominant in melee, fighterz and now guilty gear.
@@RackSimonsit’s because he’s a cocky tier whore who brags about it and says I’m better then you when he also admits tiers matter so basically it’s like saying hey look at me I beat up a guy with 1 arm tied behind his back. If he wouldn’t be so openly cocky about tier whoring I think people would like him. But cocky ness is bad enough to be hated now throw in the fact that your a BRAGGING tier whore and your bound to be hated for the rest of your life. The only way people will like him is if some one throws a crab at him on stage
Evo...please...can you change stages each match? It really isn't hard. Watching esports is as much about the visuals as it is watching players skills. It gets very visually boring when every single match keeps happening on the same stage, it becomes too repetitive over the course of two hours especially when you start getting into Losers and watching the same people you just watched compete with the same characters on the same stage. Other tournaments allow for stage changes, it's a shamr when fighting games do put effort into their stages that you don't at least showcase them in your esports.
really late but usually stages are picked based on their readability/performance. which is why games like street fighter used the training room often. this stage is simply the “best” performance and visual-clarity wise (do wish other stages would get picked though)
Wow a KY in top 6 is impressive. Every ridiculous DLC char to come out just makes him look weaker and weaker. I mean how does he win besides spamming throw?
People shit talking Ram and HC and Nago has been in every top 6 in every tournament... So many characters and seeing those 2 over and over is beyond boring.
with: happy chaos, only the little girls play. You shoot from afar, you make combos and you finish off up close. What's the point of such a depressing dynamic. No wonder the toxic second time winner in this game in EVO was not happy. So winning with a character that is easy to manage and easy to make combos does not feel like a worthy victory. The winner was already known before the event began. He takes the recognition and can boast of it, but he will never be able to erase that what he achieved was not meritorious. And as a person he is a disaster raised to infinity.
she got top 8 at evo meanwhile you're floor 7 bitching about trans people at the chagrin of all medical professionals who disagree with you on the subject matter stay small
He was whiffing laggy pokes non stop and his main means of offense was run up half screen to point blank with no set up. The one time he set up was after wall break which given his habits made pushing there premptively the obvious choice and if it wasn't reacting to that move point blank isn't hard. He played like many players in other games do when I just let them hang themselves with their choices. It honestly made me wonder if this really was top 8 given how many fundamental flaws in his neutral he had and wasn't adjusting.
