I'd honestly say this is the greatest matchup in EVO history. Just the fact that it was so back and forth, so dramatic, so HYPE... this battle right here should be used as an example of what EVO is all about.
I have to agree with you. I know Daigo's parry gets its credit but this is seriously my favorite moment in competitive street fighter history. You can also tell that they both enjoyed it too with how they hug at the end.
James chen's weird obsession with oiled men But still, you could see how hard prrog cracked in the last round doing 3 unsafe moves in a row. His cracking under pressure game has improved a lot in this last year
I love how after all that intense competition, all that pressure, frustration, the 2 guys hug it out at the end anyway, I love this community and the great sense of sportsmanship from everyone.
PR Rog is always such a gracious loser, it's nice to see someone be happy just playing and seeing something new rather than be a bad sport about it. I have a ton of respect for the guy.
It makes his range huge for command throws, allows him to interrupt focus attack with normals (hence, you see a FA, c.lk, throw, essentially an oily parry), greatly increases the range of his back dash, increases damage, increases defense and causes all of his moves to be able to slide forward, giving greater range. In other words, oily Hakan is godly, while dry Hakan is garbage.
6:40 such a poker play! "Oh, you don't like that? Yep, that's who we're playing". Infiltration isn't even second guessing himself, he's just letting PR Balrog wallow in self-doubt before the match. Amazing.
PR Balrog is considered by many to be one of, if not THE, best Boxer in the Street Fighter tournament scene. Infiltration is also one of the best Akuma and Hakan players in the world, recognizing Hakan's true potential and knowing the ins and outs of someone most people, like yourself, wouldn't take a second look at because he's "Trash." It's not that Hakan is bad, he's hard to master. And a master of Hakan just showed us at EVO just how it's done against a master of Boxer.
I don't remember a single one. And it's not even that this match is amazing (it is), the point is that in the history of SF4, there were several dozen amazing matches. In the history of SF5, there was not a single one.
PR Rog is one of my favorite FG pros. The guy sticks to his guns no matter what considering that his main, Balrog, has been hit quite a bit with the nerf bat. Good stuff.
Rog is one of my favorite Marvel players, was exciting to watch his SF4 game here. Kept scaring the crap out of me every time he jumped at Hakan, each attempt was risking getting caught by an Oil Coaster if blocked
'Hakan is a hard counter for Balrog' James Chen said that. One of the commentators. They also say Balrog is doing good by running out the oil time since it's very crucial for Hakan. Listen first, then comment.
I thought this match turned out to be PR's dream match. Even though he lost, he forced Infil to counter pick (eh, not really counter pick, but forced to switch out his best character). Pure magic.
great match infiltration definelty suprised me with that hakan. infiltration is just an all round type of player he has options for almost any situation he is put in.
amazing bags in his trick lmfao this fight was hype there were plenty of quotes like that through out the fight good fight though infiltration rules i love his style of playing
I think I know what you're talking about. The "tee" sound? Yeah. Most of the crowd started shouting it in the middle of that Tokido/Infil Akuma mirror.
Exactly. That is more honorable in my opinion. Yes I know people will find it stupid and give me the do whatever it takes to win spiel. That's why i personally prefer the fixed character tournaments where you pick a character and have to use it for that entire bracket at the least.
