I recently installed a keyless entry / push-to-start aftermarket kit on my 2016 Volkswagen Sportwagen, which is the cheapest trim that doesn't come with that feature. It required a push-to-start kit and a data immobilizer bypass. I really love not getting my keys out of my pocket, although it definitely has some quirks that a factory installed system does not.

It’s been reliable, but my main complaint is that the range wasn’t very good. If the keys were in the passenger seat it wouldn’t work, and it would lock sometimes if I went to the back too slowly. Might be improved with better placement of the antenna, but I’m not sure. Now the real problem is that my car doesn’t have the typical auto brake system with keyless cars. It always beeps at me to remember my keys when i open my door since the real key is still inside. This is bad because I ignore the beeping, and one day I forgot to put it in park and it rolled down a small hill :( No one hurt but had some expensive repairs.

@@ScottDriscoll thanks for heads up. Im thinking between this and easy guard system. Alot more reviews and videos of the easy guard system though.
