The 8th game of the Sanford Vs. Duc Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Money Match that occurred at Evolution 2006 Finals at the Red Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Broguht to you by the Toyota Yaris.
"God Tier" refers to the four strongest characters in the game: Sentinel, Storm, Cable, and Magneto. Sentinel is the overall best character in the game, with the most damage, defense, and movement speed (due to flying). Storm is the most versatile character, able to play keep away or rush down on a whim, as well as having the best DHC (hail). Cable is the best keep away character. Magneto is the best rush down character.
1:13 - 1:27 This is why I LOVE this game. Sure, that was broken as hell. But you know you'd have the biggest smile in the world if you were the guy playing cable!
this is the thing, hype isn't just about how many dollars are made in side-bets - it's about rivalries, and it doesn't get any bigger or better than classic East Coast vs West Coast The hype for this match was off the charts
I have this game on an xbox so what does "QCF" mean? And by the way, by the time I send the next guy in to do his special won't my special level by 0, thus not allowing another character to do a special until I build it up?
Cable, Captain Commando, and Vemon are the guys I use! They are such an awesome team, combining anti-air with projectiles and power, best team in my opinion
I sound like a scrub for asking, but who was the first character of the player on the right side, the one who just threw swords the entire time. I only recognize magneto storm sentinel and cable
From 2:25 to the end of the match, Sanford played that so well. All of his approaches were specifically meant to avoid Cable at the right times. And I have no idea how Duc blocked that cross up at 2:08. That happened so fast.
I have the game for 360 and wonder how I could take turns using everyone's special separately at the same time instead of having all 3 attack at the same time ?
I might just have a weird sense of humour, but it makes me laugh SO much seeing those endless swords and mini sentinels spammed. I love this game so much, the cheap pro tactics are brilliant!
@Sh00peh Actually, the reason you can't hear people in this video is because the audience noise wasn't fed into the audio recording. In fact, this match was probably one of the loudest the audience has EVER been in any match. The hype levels were off the charts (as it usually is for MvC2 matches). I have a video showing the audience, but I've never uploaded it. Maybe I should one of these days.
During the animation of one character's super (while the background is still colored) input the motion for your next character's super. Example: While Spiral is doing her sword super, before it ends hit QCF+KK and Sentinel will come out and do Hyper Sent Force. Hope that helped :)
Wow, was surprised to see the hyper viper combo (beginning in 1:15) extend up to four times! I always thought the most you can do was three. Shows how little how know about this game. :P
It's mostly just cause it's pretty much an almost instant full screen punish that could wipe out huge chunks of health if not entire characters in one go if you have enough meter.
That's calling them in. I'm talking about performing a Counter with your partner. Blocking at attack and performing Back, Down/Back, Down + Assist button. The screen flashes, your point character leaves the screen, and the pasrtner jumps in and performs a pre-determined move. The character leaving is usualy invincible. But in the XBox version, they aren't.
I don't know the exact details, but I know there are slow-down problems, lag problems, and certain Combos working that shouldn't. But again, I don't know the specific examples.
Sentinel + unfly can do crazy damage at little to no risk, storm can run away forever, and mag can rush your team down to death before you know what is going on. Cable has two things, Keep away, and ahvb (which can combo into itself, like in this vid). It makes him broken as hell, but the other top tiers are just as threatening.
He does it multiple time because it is the air Hyper Viper Beam and not the ground one. He does it really quick then lands and does it really quick again.
please tell me what kind of combos you would've liked to see. Duc was playing a lockdown chip team (see the flying swords?) and sanford played his standard santrax, caught duc with storm and then messed up with his ariel combo using sent. duc took advantage of his mistake and took out 2 characters. if you're comparing this game to sf4, then save your breath, two different fighting games. Compare it to mvc3? that's laughable because all those flashy "combos" require 3 or 4 buttons pressed
during the animation of your special, you input the commands for the same special. If you time it near the end of the first one, u should pull off 2 in a row
sanford really should have won this.. his movement is just so fluid between his wavedashing and the ability to make you second guess yourself just based on his ability to get on any side of you so quickly. i remember playing duc way back in 2001 and you could tell he had something special as well. ran a 4-5 hour win streak without breaking a sweat. 2 great players.
@jchensor I feel the fan responses are really important. I mean, we all didn't come for the indepth play by play. The audience loves to be fed and even being a youtube viewer, when I gather my friends around and we're jumping and screaming, you know you've captured gold :) Do it bro :D
