First vid to actually show the location of that driver side bolt. Last week I went to remove my DP. Bolts on the Cat flange were rusted as hell so I though I'd cut them. But before that I said let's remove the bolts holding the DP. And my man did that take time. The lowest bolt took hours to reach 😬 Eventually I pulled it out and it was time to find and remove the driver side nut / bolt. Unfortunately I was 5 hours into this at 1 dec celcius and it was starting to dip below freezing temp so I bolted the 3 bolts and left the toughest one for my next fight with that DP 😂 Kinda glad that I didn't cut these cat bolts back then.
How did you get the stud back in? Also does the stud in the downpipe side fasten down with a bolt or anything? I like the video. It shows exactly where that pesky bolt is in the stud :)
The stud stays in it’s the nut you need to remove. It fastens down with a nut it’s in a tough spot I’ll admit it took a lot more time than I would’ve liked to get it out. Thank you!
@@TKWhips when you reinstalled the new downpipe did you re-use the stud? Is your downpipe threaded? I have a MAP downpipe that has too large of a hole to fit the stud so I'm not sure how to fasten that hole down on the flange side of the downpipe.
Ok I rewatched it there are no studs it’s just bolts. The bolts threaded into the downpipe I don’t know about the MAPerformance downpipe unfortunately I can’t help. I would get into contact with them and explain your situation they should be able to help. Sorry I hope that helps.
@@TKWhips yea okay cool thanks for confirming. I guess all manufacturers do this differently. I actually found a separate bolt and nut in the hardware package that came with the downpipe so that has to be it. I'll contact them anyway just to make sure. I just want to do this job once lol. Fighting with that nut on the stud right now :/
What test pipe do you use? This dp was suppose to fit with 2.5 inches stock cat and almost all aftermarket test pipe is 3 inches,.you have an issue with that? Any adapter used?
It should just fit my test pipe is 3 inch it shouldn’t matter what test pipe you have as long as it bolts right up. Are you having fitment issues or is it not long enough?
It took us a while but we ended up just getting it out with a ratchet. I’m not sure if there’s any other way that works better haven’t done one in a while.
