I really like the concept of this superhero. The main problem is, that he hasn't been in any major plot in DC that I was ever interested in. A lot of potential going to waste with this guy to be honest. Also a lot of that Superman bull crap they keep throwing around doesn't tend to help him!! Like how he clearly could easily beat up Superman cuz he can just change whatever energy Superman is weakest against into his own blast!! Because that's his power!! Justice League unlimited cartoons they make it as if they're at equal footing................ ...................NO!!!!!! Superman and him are not at equal footing!!! If he wants he could kill Superman. Very literally just like that. Because that is his power
They never had superman be on equal level with Atom in Justice League Unlimited. Atom was not wanting to kill Superman because of their past together. He literally says that in the episode used for the clip. Atom is a soldier and a member of the justice league. He upholds the law the way it is presented to him. With JLU he was sent to keep the question imprisoned at Cadmus so that was what he was going to do. He didn’t want to hurt Cal-el but he was willing to

You'll see that they have this heavy implication that Superman can beat him even though that man will hold a very good fight Which is not true because he can very literally kill Superman and any Kryptonian for that matter extremely quick. Although it might take a lot out of him depending on the Kryptonian Dark side might be a problem

Captain Atom deserves more recognition and respect as a fellow Key Justice Leaguer, and Sam Worthington, D.J Cortona, and Josh Duhmael would made a Great Acting choices for Captain Atom in the Snyderverse films
Captain Atom honestly looked way better in the Nineties comics, with the longer hair and Yellow eyes. The Generic “Army guy haircut” makes him more of a joke in my opinion, and further reinforces his bad treatment in DC animation. That being said, I think he would make for an awesome recurring villain for Superman, as both express America in different manners.

Honestly, one of the worst written in most of the animated series’ or movies. So good in the comics but he’s nothing but a mutt following ‘orders from above’ in most other stuff.
Can DC settle on a Captain Atom persona and power level? Between the Armageddon series and the Justice League Generations Lost story line, they had put together a great theme to portray a man struggling to understand what he had become linked as a living fulcrum to the quantum field and also to reconcile how that universal conduit related to who he once was before the accident. Instead, DC iterates this character where sometimes he is like a Super Soldier meets Silver Surfer to some kind of "Dr Manhattan Lite" knockoff, Now in the new Jenny Sparks series he comes off like some kind of sociopathic exhibitionist. One can only wonder how they are going to spin him in the new JLA Unlimited series and hope that they do HIM justice. At least on the promotional image for that upcoming reboot he appears to be re-clad in his dilustel like DC had him in 1987. He is a character who created his own universe including a Spectre--destroyed it and made it again; challenged all kinds of metaphysical entities like Nekron and Black Racer; whipped Hal Jordan's ring-wielding butt a new shade of green, kicked evil Injustice Superman's keister across the Arctic, and then spanked three different versions of all the DC powerhouses in his Monarch arena. So, what now? DC has a character who is pure 950 platinum who they treat like corner-store foil. Hope they finally give him the props he deserves and remember that HE was he inspiration for Dr Manhattan and not the other way around.
