@EtheRenard Yeah the quality and enthusiam from the Brawl crowd is very likeable. Smash 4/Ultimate's crowd can be hard to understand and kind of "eh" imo (though Roy's chant always sounds great). And Melee's crowd sounds so bored; but it kind of is hilarious. Overall cool to hear the differences...
Sounds like they took two entirely different recordings, with captain being recorded at normal times and falcon being recorded at 12 AM after the team has gotten no sleep for the last 3 days.
WolfMaster 8000 - My headcanon as a kid was that it was his slaves that were forced to cheer him on hence why they sound like they lack any form of enthusiasm. Basically, just picture a bunch of starved men in shackles wearing nothing more than ragged robes marching in unison chanting "GAAAAN-ON-DOORRFFFF".
64, while lacking a little variety, seems the most alive with the continuous cheering, stomping and clapping along with the chant. Melee, as stated several times already, sounds lifeless. Brawl seems a little hit-and-miss at times, some really awesome, some much less so. Smash4, ...if I didn't know the characters names, I would've thought I was listening to some semi-retro horror game sound effects.
The crowd sound is one thing that declines in volume, quality and enthusiasm with each entry. Cheering the name without applause behind it just sounds wierd and forced. It was perfect in n64
64 easily has the best crowd. I can feel the enthusiasm without even being there. And they reacted over things way better, such as when you're juggling somebody for so long that it builds up into clapping, the final hit of all that juggling usually ending with cheering. And one of the best, naturally, being when you're very far away from the stage, barely grab that ledge and hear how worried they were that you were going to fall. I am very sad that no other Smash has lived up to the hype 64 has. Not even past tense, but actually still "has" even to this day. At least Melee and Brawl are audible, though. Sm4sh onward sounds like the crowd died and are chanting from hell. 6:42 Actually, you know what, I think the crowd dislikes Fox in Sm4sh, because they are swearing a whole lot.
Anleonardo Yeah, that chant actually tricked me. I didn't know about the chants at the time and that was the first chamt I got. I thought the crowd was rapping DK Rap for fun just to pass time while we fight it off, so I couldn't stop laughing. One of the best moments of my life.
Also it went from “Go Link! *clap clap clap* Go Link! *clap clap clap* Go Link! *clap clap clap*” to “Link fight fight! Link fight fight! Link fight fight!”
Mr. Game and Watch’s went from “Game and Watch! Game and Watch! Game and Watch!” in Melee, to “Mr. Game and Watch! Mr. Game and Watch! Mr. Game and Watch!” in Brawl. Then it came back to “Game and Watch! Game and Watch! Game and Watch!” in Wii U
Peach's crowd cheer in Super Smash Bros Brawl though. She's my main, so whenever the crowd starts chanting her name like that, I get much more pumped to fight and win. Her chant makes me feel badass XD.
Steffen Unfortunately, I'm a Ganondorf main, so I don't get any cool chants... Brawl's is the most encouraging one for me though. Melee's almost slows me down, and Smash 4's... now it doesn't have much effect on me because I've heard all the other chants which last longer.
I love how the chant for Melee Gaondorf sounds like Ganondorf possessed the audience so they'll cheer for him, and in Brawl it's only men cheering for him because he's a fellow chad.
Madchimpz I have a theory. If the Gerudo is full of women and Ganondorf was the only man in 100 years, shouldn't women be cheering for their king? LOL. Just a thought.
The reason why Luigi's chant in Brawl sounds demonic was because they were trying to go for something else, they were trying to make it sound like only two people are cheering for him, while other characters have like plenty of fans cheering for him, this is shading over the fact that’s he's not as famous as his brother, he’s always in his brother’s shadow, which earns him his Brawl final smash “The Negative Zone”.
n64:Public enjoying and amazed of the play of *insert character here* Melee: public bored and lifeless because is not a CoOMpetiIiItvEeeeE match nininini.... Brawl: The Public is a little less and amazed of the play of *insert character here* but at least the public makes rhymes like CAAAAPTAIN, FALCON [ no whistles CLAP CLAP CLAP or Screams] Smash 4: Literally they are just children screaming like when the clown of the party is coming
