I appreciate how KOF 94 and 95 respected the original sequence of attacks from FF2: knee, punch, back leg knee/kick, side kick, axe kick, crouching spin kick, hook kick, round kick, hien zan. 2002 and NeoWave also had a similar tribute, as well.
Wow wow 😲 you have actually mentioned all Taekwondo 🥋 moves Kim uses in his super ! Well I have done this before on my pc with slow motion mode ! Are you a Saiyan or something ? Lol
I always appreciated that in the RBFF games, if you lived a Hououkyaku, Kim would nod in approval, but if you got KO'd by it, he was shake his head in disappointment. Such a nice little subtle touch to show Kim's personality
The old games were full of so much creativity it was amazing. Like what they lacked in graphics and power processor they made sure they make it up by using whatever it was at their hands to the max. Something newer games have gotten so lazy about
At first I thought XIII's Max was the best, but then came XV, took what XIII did and improved it. That sense of sheer speed was as good as XIII, but the phoenix at the end was the cherry on top.
I'm really glad you also kept in the Capcom vs. SNK games. Those were my introduction to a lot of the KoF characters, so it's very nostalgic to hear that version.
Kim looked way better before KOF2002 Those horrible ass pants are too damn overrated. The only game where that animation looked organic and well done was in KOF XIII.
@@simiroth9461 Andy's design in KOF 2001 and 2002 is awesome as well. The newcomers from the Eolith era are amazing characters (K9999, Angel, Igniz, May Lee, Kusanagi) The new Desperation Moves for Athena (Psychic Medley is her best Super), Lin, Iori, Kyo are cool! The Eolith era gave us great things.
15’s climax has the other phoenix incorporated into it; the voice over of early kof, real bout’s phoenix summon and hienzan, 13/14’s teleports, and the camera work of Maximum Impact.
I still remember that day when I was playing with Kim Kapwhan against Wolfgram Krauser in Fatal Fury 2 when in a moment Wolfgram made an opening, I used The Houohkyaku on Him and Everyone were quite surprised and went with a "WHOAH!! HOW YA DID THAT?! THAT'S ONE FREAKIN' BADASS MOVE THERE!!" I was thinking to Myself than Kim and His Special Moves will one day will make him into a very popular Fighting Character in The Fatal Fury Series. I think one of the reasons is than his Standing, Flying, Squating Attacks are the most realistic and He's a Favorite of Tae Kwon Do Practicers out there.
The real bout ones are the best. Kim is my favorite from fatal fury and kof. Real bout fatal fury is the best game of all; it is one of the best fighting games ever made.
Damn, his kicks are lethal!!! I wondered, who would win in a crossover fight between Kim Kaphwan and Hwoarang from Tekken in a Korean Taekwondo battle?
Kim : From Korea. _ The Phoenix. ❤ _ A DLC character in KOF XV. _ Hidden in KOF Neo Wave. (PS2) Justice team : _ Kim, May-Lee, Athena (KOF 2002 UM) _ Kim, Tizoc, Athena. (KOF XI)
0:28 SNK noticed in KOF 94 Kim last hit looked like it didn’t use to hit so they fixed it in95 and made it two hits that actually touch the opponent! Well I m ... you know !
This is a nitpick but what makes the KOF 13-15 versions inferior to me is that the normal version ends in only 1 flash kick (Hienzan), and this ending lacks style and impact compared to the ending with 2 flash kicks, that becomes staple since KOF 96. That ending must be a throwback to older games like KOF 94-95. It's well known that KOF 13 makes a ton of throwbacks to 94-95 for some strange reason.
I always hated when games made their super move a "Use basic moves many times" or "Normal move but bigger". That's what put me off trying this series in the past, actually.
@@whisperer1705 haha, I'm a Japanese speaker but I couldn't listen because the effect sounds behind his voice. I guess he said KAKUGO!(覚悟)"Brace yourself!"
I heard XV gave him a new voice actor and that it's the same guy that played Kenshiro... the originator of the WATATATATATATAAAAAAA! So, maybe that's why it sounds better.
I see lot of experts here mentioning the names of every single move ! Well nice try kids with google ! NB 27 years of fighting games ! So I m so experienced I could beat you all together at once hahahahaha
