If TP gets an actual remake, they should make Midna's reaction to his death go from apathetic to devastated, as the story progresses, to show how she's changed.
Also, In Breath of The wild depending how link dies, the color of the Game over changes. For example if he dies to lighting, the game over is Yellow. I didnt notice this months till i had started playing it. Just to show all the little details they put on to this game.
When you die normally. The game over text is Red. When you die from lightning. The game over text is Yellow. When you die in the cold or go in the water. (Snow only) the game over text is Light Blue. *slightly*
Link: Dies in every other game Godesses:"I sleep" Link: Dies in Ocarina of Time Godesses: *"CODE RED GUYS CODE RED WEE WOO WEE WOO TIMELINE SPLIT TIMELINE SPLIT"*
That's not how time works, the Goddesses didn't "create" the timeline split. It's more than likely there's infinite timelines for every single possible outcome of all games. We've only seen a fraction of Zelda stories in the games. If there is 3 splits there are likely more than can be counted.
@@mosupple9461 I am sure you know this by now, but it was specifically because of the Ocarina of Time. I guess Zelda fucked up a note when she played the Song of Time at the end.
@@CherrySteinzi mean, clearly when Link dies, the antagonist wins. It just has only led to other major events once. There’s probably a timeline where Demise rules the world after he killed the Hero of the Skies, a timeline where Ganondorf becomes the Demon King and rules the world after he killed Link in Tears of the Kingdom, etc. it’s just that 99% of the time, after Link is killed, nothing interesting happens.
I think TP Link’s (human form) is the most dramatic as it truly feels like all hope is lost with the death of Hyrule’s only savior especially with the chorus sounding like they are morning his death While Phantom Hourglass has the same amount of drama but even more depressing as it’s a much slower and sadder death
In Spirit Tracks, Link falling onto the ground and dying is similar to his death in Phantom Hourglass, while in that video he has a different dying grunt and stands running and stamping faster before falling onto the ground. Is that correct?
Ranked from least to most sad: 18. Four Swords Adventures There isn't even any music. You'll probably never see this one anyway. 17. Breath of the Wild Conversely, you'll probably see this one a lot, so it loses its effect after a while. 16. The Adventure of Link More frightening than sad, and surprisingly more so in the Japanese version. 15. Oracle of Ages/Seasons Link spins for an almost comically long time, and the music is nice, but not particularly sad. 14. A Link to the Past The screen going red is certainly eerie, but when the menu music kicks in, the weight lessens a little. 13. Tri Force Heroes The music is more sad than the previous entries, but like Breath of the Wild, you might see this one fairly often. 12. Link's Awakening Like the Oracle games, but better, with less spinning and more Ballad of the Wind Fish. 11. A Link Between Worlds A more upbeat version of Ocarina of Time's, followed by a sadder version of the original game's. 10. The Legend of Zelda Link freaking blinks out of existence! 9. Four Swords The music cutting out as Link screams is surprisingly effective. 8. Minish Cap Similar to Four Swords, but the music makes you feel more ashamed of failing. 7. Skyward Sword The music could be sadder, but Link's last breath is really unsettling. 6. Ocarina of Time This one might be the most iconic, and it's definitely sad. If you're not a veteran, though, it might make you angry after a while. 5. Spirit Tracks The music is trying to evoke that of #1, but it doesn't quite reach that level. It's still quite sad, though, especially in the case of a train crash. 4. Majora's Mask For some reason, the lack of the words "Game Over" make this one a lot worse than its predecessor. The moon falling is obviously in a whole other ballpark. 3. Wind Waker With this Link being the first to be so expressive, you almost feel his pain as he collapses. 2. Twilight Princess The music, an arrangement of Ocarina of Time's and the beginning of Midna's Lament, is truly haunting, not to mention Link's pained expression (though it's slightly alleviated if you have Midna with you and she's like, "Ah geez, not again"). But even that can't top... 1. Phantom Hourglass Holy Like Likes, this music is sad. This doesn't feel like a Game Over. It feels like this is the end, and Link is dead for real. They may have changed it for Spirit Tracks because it was a little too excessive.
The Skyward Sword one you used is the falling one too. Breath of the Wild has unique death screens and Skyward Sword has quite a few unique animations. I think it would be cool if you died from elemental damage in BotW if it had an effect. So instead of being classic red for fire, it could be on fire. If it was the weapon and not the exposure, it could be just the color. I think that would be cool.
MoH, I have loved what you've uploaded over the years. If you ever get the free moment to do this Link compilation again as a re-mix or re-do, I would not only like to see all of the CD-I versions included but also possibly ones from this year's Tears of the Kingdom. Thank you again for your awesome content!
Actually in botw there are 3 different game over screens depending on how you die, light blue if you freeze, yellow if your electrocuted, and red if you die normally or are on fire
I assume the reason you didn't include the GBA version of A Link to the Past is the same one for not doing the Wii versions of Twilight Princess and the Switch version of Breath of the Wild. Too identical (despite the GBA's smaller screen and different hud).
A Link to the Past, THE Wind Waker, THE Minish Cap, A Link Between Worlds. Those are the names... I know, it's not that important, but anyways... My favorite is Majora's Mask.
Best Death Scream: Ocarina of Time Best Game Over Music: Twilight Princess Most Dramatic Death Scene: Wind Waker If only there was a way to combine all three into one.
