Quicksand is one of the most deadly obstacles ever in the Mario franchise. When Mario touches quicksand, he can get back up by jumping rapidly. However, some quicksand might drain him instantly. Mario has had many drowning problems with quicksand. Luckily, there are easy ways to avoid being sucked in. One way is to ride on the Koopa Shell from Mario 64. Here, he will simply surf in the sand without getting sucked in. Mario must be very careful though, as he can hit an obstacle on accident. If this happens, the Shell will be destroyed and Mario will fall. Another way to avoid getting sucked in is by using the wing cap from the same game. Mario will simply fly gracefully over the sand. Just watch the wing cap doesn’t run out (:

If you did not know, in super mario bros wii in the desert world there is a quick sand that takes you to a secret area I dont remember what it has. I think it had a star coin, hopefully this helps!

I'm surprised at how rare quicksand was in the Mario games until NSMB came around (though it was already common in the spinoffs back then)

I'd like to see quicksand and many other new things in Super Mario Maker 2. I hope there will be at least smaller updates. This game has a lot of potential. I can even pay for new things, but Nintendo should not stop supporting it.
