You totally forgot the early days of punk and metal in the late 60s to the early 70s with the sex pistols, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath to the big four in 83.
Bc: makes you think 600: Super cool 900: spiritual 1600: pretty amazing 1680: GLORY 1791: OH GOD 1808: PERFECT 1882: great 1900: cool 1920: amazing 1930: So good instrumental 1940: danceable 1950: SUPER DANCEABLE 1960: BEST OF EVER (you missed Jazz) 1970: nice 1980: most of it is good 1990: most of it is not bad 2000: can be saved 2010: let's go back to 600
1987 Damnit, I got rick rolled. 1960's: Eh pretty cool. 1970's: Pretty Good 1980's: Excellent! 1990's: Most are good, but some are crap. 2000s: Music starts turning to crap. 2010's: Some good, most are absolute shit.
there is an actual psychological condition that refers to this ver 'old stuff is better' mentality. in 30 years time, people will look back at the likes of Adel, Kanye, macklemore, and Beyonce and go, 'yes, that is the definition of music. this modern Shit is crap'.
I think this doesn't matter because this is showing a timeline of pop music. I could complain about the lack of inclusion of poem electronique in the 50s and the time line of experimental and avant garde music. or the lack of inclusion of industrial, EBM, Thrash Metal and any real versions of punk from the early 60s to the mid 80s, and into the 90s for metal and electro-industrial, but none of this stuff has any bearing on the pop consensus of music which this video is trying to demonstrate.
Man this makes me feel old! Songs from 2005 onwards I can remember word for word and it only feels like it was yesterday they were blasting on the radio :/
I hate how some people are so disrespectful towards the music we have today. I like it just as much as the first music ever created. Music is powerful, and let the music from now and then make you feel happy. Music is the only thing that always makes me happy, no matter what.
Sebizzar That's quite uncommon lol. I've seen "musical evolution" videos where they spend 10% of the time for the 1950's-2000's and like 90% for the 2010's, so that's a nice change
Firstly, i loved this video. I respect all the artists who gave us music associated memories. Well i see that you clearly hate metal but this genre has lot of intensity. "Degenerated" take that back! Metal deserves a place not less than any other rhythmic vibration ever created.
When I heard "We are young" I was like" NO WAY" since me and my old friends use to play this song all the time and after a while a forgot it and when I heard it I was like "Oh.......my......god....." Since it reminded me of the good old days
Everybody has a different perception of great music is. Some people think that trap is really good, some don't. I love gangsta rap, some don't. So nobody is really in the right place to say what era sucks and what era doesn't.
1960: The Beatles, Psychadelia, Led Zeppelin I, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, My Generation. 1970: Hard Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Metal (Sabbath). 1980: Van Halen, Scorpions, Great Queen Albums, Iron Maiden. 1990: Grunge, Thrash Metal, Dissolve of many great bands. 2000: Radiohead, Muse, The Black Keys, White Stripes 2010: ...
