@@Jl2damax No. For Lucas they changed the Magenta in his PK love to light blue. In mother 3, PK love's main colors were yellow, light blue and magenta so there wasn't really anything wrong with it before the change, but because light blue is the dominant color in the animation, especially for the splash effect, it's a much better representation that they changed it. The magenta is instead part of the aura of the attack while the yellow and light blue make up the hexagon like in mother 3. For Ness, PK rockin consists of 3 colors too, Red, yellow, and blue. For whatever reason they decided to represent it with pink and magenta circles, and green as an aura color. Here's my explanation, keep in mind this is speculation. When Ness was the only character in the game with psychic power, because earthbound was so limited in graphics, his attacks didnt really have any sort of manifestation to compare it to so they used generic energy sparks to convey both his psychokinesis and offensive energy emission. Thats why Mewtwo used the same effects as Ness (in his throws and double jump) This was a thing until brawl when Lucas joined. In order to differentiate the two visually, and because Mother 3 had less chaotic animations and clearer visuals, a single shape was able to be used as a splash effect for Lucas' PSI attacks. I'm guessing this is where Sakurai figured he ought to let Ness and Lucas use their signature PSI abilities in their normals since there wanst a set name for them to call out. In smash 4, Luvas's hexagons were updated more to resemble PJ love color wise while Ness following the theming was assigned a shape and color for his attacks. In a lot of pop culture, pink is used as the color to represent psionics and I guess a circle was chosen for the shape since it wasn't really as defined as a hexagon. When PK Rockin is used against the player character in earthbound the splash effect is pink so maybe that's where the color choice came from but I doubt it. Anyway ultimate is here and my o my guess why Lucas got that treatment and Ness didnt is to further differentiate them. Ness' main colors are pink and magenta with green aura and light and dark blue sparkles Meanwhile lucas' main colors are light blue and yellow with magenta aura and orange and red sparkles. Not even the sparkles are the same color, which makes me think they want them to be different visually by intention. A good fix to have would be to replace the Magenta for Red and the pink for blue and give Ness a golden yellow aura then his PSI would match PK rockin and I can die in peace. Yes I spent way too much time analyzing shit you see for half a frame.

They need to add Paula and Kumatora and remake Ness and Lucas' moveset to match the Mother lore. They have enough space on the newer systems to warrant the chance. There's no longer a need to encapsulate all the major PSI abilities to Ness and Lucas.

But Poo is the only one who canonically uses Starstorm. The only part of Ness's psi moveset is PK Flash 😆 unless his psi air attacks are considered adaptations of PSI Rockin

@@TotPocket maybe Poo taught Ness PK Starstorm and Paula taught Ness the other PSI abilities like PK Fire PK Thunder PK Freeze (only in 3DS and Wii U) and PSI Magnet

@@aidanboze410 it's not worth it for just a worse looking version of all Wii U's moves (the priority in these comparisons is the moves themselves, not the graphics). 3DS captured videos need a ton of adjustments to be able to be cut together with the other videos.

it is there? moves are ordered by button combo and PK Fire was neutral B in SSB64 but Side B in all following games.
