Nova derives his powers from an energy source called the Nova Force which all Nova Corps Centurions wield. This energy was transferred to Rider by the Nova-Centurion Rhomann Dey. The Nova Force affords Rider superhuman powers including flight, superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as the power to absorb energy directed against him and release it as gravimetric pulses and beams, either from specific parts of his body or from his entire body. Nova is a good hand-to-hand combatant, and has been coached by Chord.

Damn, Richard Rider is extremely underrated and underused. For those who don’t get it all Novas seen after the Super Hero Squad one is Sam Alexander not Richard Rider. Sam is the new teen hero version of Nova that became Nova while Richard Rider the ORIGINAL nova was presumed dead after the events of Annihilation.

@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 I knew that they were the same guy, but in Ultimate Spider-Man he's pretty much an ally/friend of Spidey, whereas I think he really broke out in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

Well there’s several things that could be improved upon, like the fact Sam was a bit too obnoxious sometimes and the writers often humiliated him as a way to make Peter look more mature, those two things should be changed, but yeah I agree. I want his core personality to be the same as the one in ultimate

The same? He was the only reason why I ever watched ultimate spiderman after I found it to be horrible after a couple of years. But, he was basically made to be the comic relief or a funny rival to peter. They need to make him less comic relief and more super style .. as in as good as his helmet makes him and not a joke to the Nova character. Now if It was his own series It would be okay if he was more similar to his ultimate spiderman portrayal since the focus would be on him and not the extremely annoying peter parker who likes to be the center of it all.

Despite all and I repeat ALL of Nova's abilities in and out of the comics everyone in marvel EVEN STAN.LEE HIMSELF said he's 10/10 times unable to defeat the the Hulk.There fights confirm and solidifies the Hulk as THE strongest in marvel,even overpowering heroes with cosmic levels of power like Nova like the one above who showed peter everyone he saved, yeah that's what hulk can do to the one above...so everyone else in marvel and DC are just mere stickers in hulks feet and all of DC even admitted that if hulk killed Superman*witch hulk has* hulk kills the man of steel to where even the sun wouldn't bring sups back.

While the Green Lantern's power of creating any light constructs depends on the power of his or her will and imagination, Novas have gravimetric powers, meaning that they wield the power of gravity and absorb energy.

Nope, only Spider-Man appeared, but Nova and Iron Fist, along with Power Man and White Tiger, did make a cameo in the second season, so yeah, one is missing.
