Genuinely one of the saddest "evolutions" any franchise has ever went through. It started off so strong... I wish some other company would buy this game from EA and do something proper with it
Nintendo might do it some good. I feel like they would make a 2 player version of PvZ1 or PvZ2, to be played on the switch. Add more zombies, some new, harder levels, and it might not be as bad as pvz3
@@GalihPratama-ky3ox I haven't tried anything other than PVZ 1.. And I'm still playing it at the moment.. Just got curious what newer ones offer.. And I'm greatful I haven't touched those.. I think they're far from the OG already..
@@elijahjenkins2654 but they are now controlled by ea most of the team who made pvz 1 were fired cause they didn’t like the business tactics of ea it’s bullshit
Nah pvz2 was: a game where the difficulty was so hard because it was purposely designed to make you buy transactions. EA ripped the heart and soul out of the franchise
Neighborville was awful imo, I guess the first few weeks were okay, but after that, the game really started to cripple and die down, and it has no character variety other than skins, which some are cool, but some are completely garbage, and mainly after the summer of 2020, there was no more actual content left in game to play (unless you haven't completed the campaign). The only good thing about it was the campaign, it was actually really creative and was one of the best campaigns I've seen from the PvZ shooter franchise. So like a 5/10 for neighborville.
The original game will always be in my heart. I remember as a child playing it with my great uncle whenever I would stay there for the night/for babysitting. I remember he had absolutely everything in the game, and his tree was so tall that it maxed out. Good times :)
The original game definitely has all the nostalgia, but the 2nd game actually has pretty good visuals, and I like that it's a bit faster paced. Too bad we can't look back at it today as an old gem due literally everything else about it, like premium plants, 50 billion other quest thingies I don't care about, and the god-awful levelling system where you of course can buy packs to level your plants. Not to mention the harder levels, where they just slap like 5 different arbitrary objectives on there and call it a day. The PvZ2 Eclise mod makes the game harder but also less frustrating (most of the time) and also completely removes microtransactions, would recommend if anyone wants to play the 2nd game, but actually have fun
Well I beat regular pvz2 without paying a cent and I struggled on like 2 levels of the over 300. Yoi dont have to care about the microtransactipns, its still a good game
Nobody has said anything yet about this but the music in the first pvz games was just the best. I feel like everyone under appreciates how good the music actually felt in the first games
You sure everyone under appreciate it? Cuz I know damn well everytime this music comes up on random videos people praise it LMAO. It's not under appreciated. It's just that it isn't common for people to use it.
@@r.jguerra5526 I do not know if you understood what an alpha is, it is true pvz 3 the original of 2020 if it is bad, even though it has more strategy than the previous pvz.
Really all they gotta do is change the art style (That’s what’s bothering me a lot), make it so the Sun is either 50 or 25 meta I don’t see the point in it being single numbers, And make it so the plants don’t talk. It’s allowable in the Almanac because they’re jokes and stuff but it feels so off for a peashooter to say “I’ll take care of this”, immediately die because it’s not even behind a wallnut, and then sulk because their ego was shattered.
I used to play PvZ when I was younger. it was during an unstable period of my family life, where I think a part of me was subconsciously looking for simple joys everywhere I could find it. it certainly provided the joy I needed at the time. it will always have a special place in my heart. I may even play it again sometime 💚
@@Jane-fi1jtwdym haven't you seen the new update? Its so unplayable cus every item, plants, levels etc, are now 30X more expensive. But it wasn't like that before
Pvz2 and the knockoofs are actually good but the p2w and leveling system in pvz2 and why did they make a shooter out of a tower defense game that isnt fucking a idle game
Garden warfare 1 was amazing, genuinely one of the better spin-offs the game has had, never liked 2, it looks too much like the typical third person shooter with abilities and mechas and that stuff, not much fun compared to 1
PVZ2 is the best for me, the animations are amazingly done and the gameplay's much more fluid, even if it does have its greedy downsides. PVZ's a classic, gotta love it but i dunno what the heck is going on with PVZ3.
PVZ was awesome, and PVZ2 was like an ultra upgrade, and PVZ3 is just a completely, even worst than trash. I recommend just delete PVZ3 and just continue updating PVZ2.
@@天才的天才 agree but who knows how pvz3 will be in the end it was just beta they might change things completely uk why would they release it like that if everyone hates it
Pvz 3 has learned from eclise tbh Pvz 2 is just place strong plants = win Pvz 3 has good levels for example thare is a level which you have only a wall nut and a squash and you have to place a wall nut so zombies will be close to eachother and then place the squash so it can stomp all of them
@@laurentiuslancaster1657 I am more familiar with the btd styled games. But if theres more then just that then it would be considered a tower defense game
I vaguely remember some weird mini game in the DS version where you controlled a Gatling pea (I think) with your ds pen thing and shot things infront of you, and you could get a pumpkin to protect you. Hopefully I’m not just insane
PvZ DS has a special spot in my heart even alongside the original. It's a demake fs, but I love it despite that. The crunchy pixel graphics of a wonderful game on the handhelds I grew up with (the DS - 3DS Era)
I had the nds version when I was a kid, it was fucking awesome. I would always play vs with my mom, the mode where one person could play as the zombies
No because literally same. I was born in 2007 and didn't have any mobile devices till I was like 9 or 10, but my cousins owned a nintendo ds and would let me play PvZ on it all the time. That's how I found out about this game in the first place. Later on I eventually got it on my pc when I was a little older and played it that way but yes- Cronchy graphics
Plants Vs Zombies Adventures man I loved that game when it was still around Wish there was some way to play it again it gave me mad nostalgia seeing it here
pvz 2 will forever stay in my heart. i had so many memories with it, along with angry bird epic and fight. also pvz 3 looked like one of those mobile game ads
Despite it being a worse version, I would honestly buy the NDS version of PvZ, only really because I quite like the simplified pixel style they went for.
0:15 great and cult classic also "zombie on your lawn" Ending song 5:43 Good sequel , But lot of good planet is locked behind paywall even mod version can't unlocked them 8:08 where big company start to think , Games mean a Online First Person Shooting 8:55 That's why COPPA exist to protect kid's privacy from EA , because PvZ was intensely made for kids 11:04 Call of Plant vs Zombie 11:53 This game is completely lost its charm , What's Plant Vs Zombie make so special (if you played the original on your pc) This game is look like made to copy your credit card number 12:44 Ohh god they made Crazy Dave ugly , I am gonna stick with PvZ original and 2
PVZ the original was unbeatable. The charm comes from its simple gameplay, iconic sprites, and its amazing music. The console port was pretty good in its effort of keeping everything the same. The NDS was... it kinda went back in time, literally. PVZ 2 was a full reboot. it upgraded the gameplay, new plants, and way more levels. The downside was the different music style (but they're still pretty good), the hellish difficulty spikes, and abyssmal monetization. I can't even just purchase a "No ads" version. Dude, I would have totally paid subscriptions if it's possible. The GW, GW2, and BFN, are like FPS games with PVZ collabs. Nothing but just fan service. let's not talk about the other games...
The first two garden warfares are amazing games in their own right and has a big community of it's own that's actually still alive, way more than just fan service. Oh and I know I'm a year late in saying this but technically you can buy a no ads version of pvz2, you just have to buy any singular in game purchases and the ads go away permanently. I figured that out when I bought chomper.
While I have no experience with garden warfare, though I've heard 1 and 2 are good, I miss the original and pvz 2 launch version. Both were absolutely incredible.
When i was a kid, me and my mom used to play the PvZ 2009 version when she has time to play with me or when she comes home from her work. Time flies so fast when you're having fun :'(
I miss being 6 playing PvZ on my grandma's old computer alone in a room a bit dark and always running away in terror when Dave screams or the zombies laugh
PvZ 1: The classic, the original, the legend. The PvZ you'll always come to play and try to capture the nostalgia. PvZ 2: The best looking PvZ, most diverse, fluid gameplay and animations, much harder PvZ GWs: Cool, it's like another game of PvZ, tho I personally never play it. PvZ 3: No
PvZ: great, iconic, nostalgic, balanced, f2p, and has stayed alive for over a decade. Just to show how great this game is. PvZ 2: great sequel, has more challenges than the original encourages many play styles, much more plants, but the game bombardes you with ads and a huge portion of plants needs seed packets which are hard to get without being p2w PvZ 3: has potential to be great, has many problems, steals from other games, misses that “PvZ feeling” and worst of all, crazy Dave calls himself Dave. PvZ garden warfare: a great way to make a mobile game a shooter game, surprisingly good, it’s co-op is great and just a surprisingly good spinoff overall. PvZ garden warfare 2: the perfect sequel. Has so many features, still has an active community, co-op: great, multiplayer: awesome, the map: impossible to hate. So many new plants and variants AND they added zombies as playable characters. PvZ battle for neighborville: watch danerade’s video he would explain it better than me
I remember as a kid I watched my grandpa play this game on the family computer and I’d be scared to see him click adventure as the zombie puts its hand out the ground, I’d also be scared of the fail sounds and the brain on the screen.
pvz1: masterpiece pvz adventures: huh isnt this kinda just bloons tower defense pvz2: also really well made but don't touch anything but the main campaign GW1: huh isn't this kinda just team fortress 2 GW2: ok this is definitely just team fortress 2 pvzh: wait so now it's clash royale? BFNV: WHY IS THERE A SPRINT BUTTON pvz3: WHAT THE FUCK
PVZ 1 has that classic, fun, flash game feel. PVZ 2 feels empty, like something is missing, but it still has some resemblance of the classic. PVZ 3 is a soulless cash grab mobile game, feels fake and cheap.
Pvz 2 feels empty??? Man that version is also a classic!! but obviously its not the same as pvz 1. then with pvz 3 ur totally right its a pity/shame for real
One thing PvZ 3 did right was that the zombies instantly die, because in the other games when they fall over all of you straight shooting plants like peashooter would get of three shots on the dead corpse
When my dad would come overseas to the US to see me and my brother we would go to his hotel room and play plants vs zombies at night with him for fun. 2009 PVZ will always be one of my favorite games to play and is something special in my heart.
I like the newest version of the 3rd game. It doesn't have the same charm the original had but it has it's own charm, that I think makes the game less stressful
I was a HUGE fan of Pvz 2009 (and still is) but if I have kids, I would let them play what they want (as long as it isn't anything bad) since it will be a new generation and that game will be nostalgic to them.
yeah, i was also kinda diggin the new art style they went with the 2021ver and they also reverted that unnecessary portrait style they were going with.
My favorite is the Console version (Specifically the Xbox 360 version), it was in HD and had so much stuff like multiplayer modes and even online leaderboards
Wow we sure did come a long way! Good job popcap for not letting this amazing franchise di- wait what’s that? Fans: “BOO NEW GAMES LOOK LIKE TRASH! EA RUINED IT!” wait what’s going on!? Pvz3: gets delayed and remade for no reason. NO! IT WAS FINE! WHY!? at least we still got that rogue like game! Pvz dungeons: get cancelled. Well shit guys.
Ahh man i used to love playing this game on school days me and my friends always play it in the computer room downstairs every Sunday and Wednesday old things were the best happened in our lives but new things ruined our fun history
All they needed to do with 3 was do more simple and fun gimmicks like in 2. I have no idea why they did that terrible way. Removing the actual numbers to the sun just makes it “more accessible” in the worst ways. Sun management was much more interesting in the other games because multiples of 25 made decisions between your chosen plants more tight, and it made the nighttime levels that much more stressful before you got the mushrooms. Yes this new one is more simple, but the complexities in the old style increased the depth to the gameplay and made it more fun.
the best of the "warfares" is the pvz garden warfare, it doesnt matter how many more they release, it will be the best, the realism is very important too.
