I remember how excited I got when I unlocked Daisy in Mario Kart Wii. I literally yelled at my guinea pig „Omg I got Daisy“. It was such a wholesome moment back then for me. Daisy will be forever be my favorite Mario character
I always see a lot of people hate on daisy but she was one of the best characters in my opinion. (Daisy has been my favorite character from Mario ever since I was like 6 lmao- 😌)
Many people do because the 90's climate wasn't so nice to her only because Daisy acted and looked like Peach when she first appeared in Super Mario Land, and many people who were familiar with Peach at the time treated Princess Daisy like a stranger. At first glance, many people in the 90's thought that Daisy was Peach and Daisy was Peach's nickname. In other words, most people during the 90's didn't know that Princess Daisy and Princess Peach were different characters all long and assumed that she was a reskin of Princess Peach just because of the way she acted and looked in Super Mario Land. The reason why we didn't get to see much of classic Princess Daisy was because many of the gamers back in the 90's didn't realize that Peach and Daisy were different characters to begin. All that play god censorship that happened in the first place was because the producers didn't think that the American audience could handle Japanese culture prior to the late 90's.
@@toluolomolaiye6433 When Daisy first appeared in Super Mario Land design, she was very difficult to understand back when she was new because many people were familiar with Peach at the time. The reason for Daisy's hiatus was because Daisy didn't look different enough from Peach when she first appeared in Super Mario Land. In fact, Daisy's Super Mario Land appearance fooled many people, she didn't made major video game appearances during the 1990's. The problem was, was she a new princess or just another reskin of Princess Peach?
The only thing that is holding me back from liking Daisy is her current voice. I loved Daisy's older voices (Mario Parties 3-7 and maybe 8) but my most favorite was 6-7 as she had attitude but it wasn't to the point where she was annoying like "hI, i'M dAiSy". That being said, I still think Daisy is a great character with a ton of potential but definitely not a favorite and I'm still hoping she'll continue to return in the Mario series. Heck, I actually wish she'd just get her own spin-off like Super Princess Peach except with no bull crap baby crying. By the way, I'm not sure if I'm the only one who adored the white stripe on her dress. :3
"Hi I'm Daisy" is only said in Double Dash, I think she needs more time to shine in the main line games to really flesh out her personality. Its cool to see a princess be spunky and sporty and diversify the cast a bit instead of being a meek and quiet princess like Rosalina and Peach.
