Some consoles such as the NAOMI are actually arcade systems. Fun fact, the Sega Chihiro arcade system uses the exact same hardware as the og xbox.

Wait till you find out about the Tri-Force! It's a GameCube-based arcade system born of a collaboration between Sega, Namco, and Nintendo. Nintendo handled the core hardware, while Sega and Namco tackled all the game development, and Sega may have been who developed the thing's firmware (since the bin files used for its updates are always called "segaboot"). Since Nintendo themselves had no team to handle arcade game development, both Sega and Namco were the ones to create their own licensed games.

The difference is the region. In each region there were exclusive games and also the frame rate was different. Japan: Mega CD (NTSC-J) 30Fps 60Hz North America: Sega CD (NTSC) 30Fps 60Hz Europe: Mega CD (PAL) 25Fps 50Hz

Some Master System models came with built-in games. To play them you have to turn on the console without putting any game in and wait for the intro animation to finish.

No, the console does not have a startup screen, some games do. If you turn on the console without any game, the screen goes black.

yep, the cartridge can have its own special animation.

There is a lot of investment that they would have to make. Now they are doing very well just creating games and I don't think they want to risk making another console.

Sega cant make consoles unless they convince their masters in Sammy that they wont supplement a new machine with at least 10 stupid decisions. Their trademark.

The Sega genesis startup screen you see on RU-vid is actually from playing the “sonic the hedgehog” series on the genesis, meaning that the startups are really ones from the game The 4 games that had startups in Sega genesis were: sonic 1, sonic 2, sonic 3 and sonic 3D blast. Each having different startups
