Let's see how Zelda's alter ego Sheik evolved in all of her video game appearances (starting with Ocarina of Time) from 1998 to 2019. 1080p 60fps Gameplay by Nintendo Unity | Our 2nd Channel: / @nintendodatabase |
4:15 the way that Sheik is already preparing to drink the tea like “ah yes tea time” while Fox is all confused has always made me laugh since the first time I played brawl 😂😂
The problem is, Sheik isn't a character...it's a Princess Zelda disguise/alter-ego. And Princess Zelda can no longer use that disguise, as Ganondorf discovered that Zelda was posing as Sheik to hide from him/spy him. So this basically makes Sheik an illogical character to use in future games, as cool as she is, because Ganondorf (same incarnation in all games) knows that Sheik is Zelda now. In BOTW, Sheik has her own dedicated following with the Sheikah race being developed further and also is two different outfits Link can wear (stealth gear and sheik clothes). Nintendo definitely hasn't forgot about her.
@@Star-kx7gb I mean I think there's room there if they were to flesh out the character, perhaps the persona of sheik could've came from a sheikah legend of the last male sheikah warrior. Or maybe it was a spirit taking over Zelda's body. I mean there must be a reason "Zelda" passed so well as a male sheikah, red eyes and all, and it's not like she showcased any kind of disguising magic anywhere else in the series. I definitely think there's ways to make sheik their own character
You gotta love how they don't even try to conceal Sheik's true identity after Ocarina of Time. They give him a feminine body and/or feminine movement and/or feminine voice and/or outright state that he is a disguised Zelda.
@@aprilu_u3802 Not true. Sheik is only ever referred to as "male" in Japan during Ocarina of Time (because its part of the surprise that its actually Zelda). In all future appearances in all languages Sheik is always referred to as female.
@@icymiles You just made that up. Even in the Japanese version of the games, its only stated that Zelda wears a Sheikah costume to disguise herself, it never said anything about her using magic to change her gender/sex.
I agree, but I think the best Sheik is the one from Ocarina of Time and Melee, because she's the one that looks the most like a man, and since she's supposed to be a disguise, it makes more sense
No it wasn’t. It’s from Hyrule historia where it explicitly states “these images represent what twilight princess Zelda would look like if she transformed into shiek they were drawn for smash bros brawl”
I was thinking of that! And then I has the idea of a spin-off with Sheik as the main character, controling her during the years Link was resting at the temple and she had to just survive until he wakes up. Btw ¿hablas español? Para que sea más fácil hablar jajaja
That was the point XD. In the LoZ Ocerina of Time Manga Zelda specifically tells Impa she wanted everyone to believe that she was a boy so she wouldn't be found out
Sheik is my #1 waifu simply because shes so cool but the whole time shes also Zelda in disguise. I wish Nintendo would dive deeper into how she became Sheik. Pretty sure the Sheikah trained her, or who knows? Id love a Sheik origin story
Lshards 1991 well........ Zelda has to hide her identity from Ganon because ya know... he’s out to get her, so she needs to use the magic she taut herself to change eye colour and gender.
@@sxddendesire1158 They already heavily changed it in the 3DS port of OOT. It's pretty clear Sheik has a female body in that game. Just look at those hips lol.
I know Shiek in Brawl and Smash 4 is supposed to be based off concept art of how she was supposed to appear in Twilight Princess, but if you ask me she doesn’t look that much different from Melee (except for the obvious extra detail to reflect how things have enhanced since the GameCube days).
Me: *Missreads video title thinking it says Shrek* Me again: *Sees it's about Sheik* Me still: My disappointment is immeasureable and my day is ruined. Me once again: *Watches to end* Me, for the last time: Never mind, high quality.
how badass would it be to see Zelda go through a ton of training to master her use of the Tri-force of wisdom and in the process become an absolute god in hand to hand combat and watch her earn the name Sheik from the sheika clan in the name the royal family for the fallen champions and for self redemption in botw 2
If y'all ask me, I would love to consider Sheik as her OWN Character in The Legend of Zelda franchises. I want her and Zelda to be separated characters in the Zelda franchises. Sheik can be the Sheikah Ninja of Hyrule, who serves Princess Zelda, and is trained under Impa. She can also be a Childhood Best Friend of Link and Zelda. I want Sheik to be Partners in Crime with Link throughout the years in the making of The Legend of Zelda franchises. That's the Best type of Zelda character I want Sheik to be. Zelda can be the Princess of Hyrule. I just don't want her to be Sheik in Disguise.
Agreed. That idea would have worked perfectly in Breath of the Wild. Like an ally that randomly helps when you battle, especially those annoying Yiga clan encounters.
ugghhhhhh id buy OoT (out of nostalgia) on the 3DS but i cant bring myself to play such a classic on such a tiny console. i REALLY wish they had released it for its 35th anniversary on the switch
Shame that Sheik is not a real character in the Zelda series. If he could be his own person, I view him as someone with dry humor, loyal and stoical demanour. And good musical taste.
Sheik was a pretty important companion, arguably second to Navi in OoT since she teaches you the warp songs to progress throughout the game. Heck, after Link turns into an adult I felt Sheik's presence more than Navi when it came to navigation and helpfulness. Sheik may disappear after seconds but she was way more useful than Navi was after Link pulled the master sword.
03:18 Technically there is nothing wrong, but like something does not match the laugh of Peach Tecnicamente no hay nada de malo, pero como que algo no cuadra con la risa de Peach
Easy explanation: That's because Zelda and Sheik from Brawl are not the same character. Zelda from Brawl is from TP and Sheik is from OoT but has a TP design. In the original game, Zelda is blonde and can turn into Sheik, though there are many other characteristic differences like Sheik has red eyes, is more muscular/more agile, has darker skin, etc. Zelda can transform into Sheik through magic, magic powerful enough to change her body build, which would include her facial features and body shape.
If y'all ask me, I'd much prefer Sheik to be her OWN character in the Zelda franchises. I want Sheik to be her own character in the Zelda franchises, so she can be Friends and Partners with Link and Zelda. If only Sheik could've been a Childhood Best Friend to Link, the two of them would've been like Two Peas in a Pod. Sheik could've been the Official Ninja Bodyguard for Zelda of the Royal Family of Hyrule throughout the years in the Zelda series. She could've been like a True Childhood Best Friend of Link. Think about it: Mario has his little brother, Luigi, Donkey Kong has his little buddy, Diddy Kong, Kirby has his Best Friend and Rival, Meta Knight, and Fox McCloud has his Best Friend and Rival, Falco Lombardi of Team Star Fox. Sheik could've ALWAYS been at Link's side at all times in the Zelda series.
Sheik is my main in Hyrule Warriors and Smash Bros. I don't damn care is it's a she or a he (even if I consider Sheik a male). Just that Sheik is his own character for once cause just being called Zelda in disguise is just sad
@@hiimaly4780 which is sad cause I really appreciated Sheik in OoT as a kid and Hyrule Warriors cause other than Zelda and Link hes the only one who has a backstory people would like to dig into
In Ocarina of Time she is referred to as male, and the point of the disguise is to come off as male. There isn't really any evidence to prove her gender, so people assume Zelda changed her gender with magic, as the game would want you to believe.
Foofolo I think he means that he could already tell Sheik was a girl. But yeah back in the day you couldn't really tell right of the bat because that was the intention
