I love how in gta most of the shotguns have the range of a real shotgun, not like those games you need to be at least 3 meters near your enemy to do some damage
OddGamerFreak but that’s is what a shotgun can do. Only difference from a rifle and shotgun is a smooth barrel vs a rifles barrel. Yes there’s a big difference in accuracy and ammunition used. Shotguns are more musket then we think
i always found it odd how they tweaked the tlad combat shotgun model to have a pistol grip and stock, then when tbogt came out the combat shotgun went back to the original gta 4 model with the thumbhole stock for it
In GTA IV the shotguns are pump action shotgun Combat shotgun Sawed off shotgun (TLaD only) Assault Shotgun (TLaD only) Automatic shotgun (TBoGT only) The automatic has one normal And the other explosive

Fun facts I wanna share about the shotguns in the 3D era games. The shotgun in GTA 3 LOOKS like the spas 12 combat shotgun from the future games but it actually has the same power that the stubby shotgun has in the future games, just wider pellet spread in GTA 3. My favorite SPAS 12 is in Vice City because it shoots the fastest. Everyone loves San Andreas but damn, the shotguns REALLY feel Underpowered in that game. My favorite Stubby Shotgun is in LCS because he shoots it the fastest. The changed sound of the stubby shotgun on the PS2 version of VCS to sound like the Spaz 12 and finally, I love the combat spas shotgun in LCS because it’s a beast but the literal ONLY way to obtain it without cheating is to climb the hill in Wichita Gardens and get it from behind the billboard where the Hoods M16 rampage was in GTA 3
I think they took a few sounds from Half-Life 2. Pumping sound in GTA IV sounds very similar to one from HL2 shotgun and reload sound from Chinatown Wars sounds a lot like one you hear in HL2 after inserting about three shells in shotgun chamber.

Manhunt, a game made by Rockstar in 2003 (1 year before GTA SA) had the most realistic shotgun reload I have seen in a game. It carries 8 rounds and you can reload at any time, and the character puts one shell at a time while you see the number also increasing by one. You can stop the reload at any time by simply firing, you can load only 2 shells, fire right away, and you'll have only one left. Why the hell they never reimplemented this reload mechanic is beyond me.
Me: Spas/Combat Shotgun was the best shotgun throughout all GTA games because they shoot very fast and it take few hits to destroy a car :) Arnold Schwarzenegger: I think you chosen....... TERMINATION!!!!!
